While the battle against the monstrous Navy was reaching a fever pitch - another monster slowly trudged towards her destination.
Whether she was heading in the right direction, she had no clue.
Her apparel was far simpler than that of the manic maniac. Compared to Navy she was far less lavish with only her having a simple white robe that was tightly bound around her waist with a matching cash. In that sash was held two swords without sheaths yet that was where things began to get… Messy.
Those "swords" looked nothing alike as one was far shorter than the other however the longer one actually gained its additional length due to some form of unusual "energy". A faint jade green with an odd lilac glow that should have been warm but strangely felt colder than ice. That other blade is no less strange.
It appeared as a black metal that constantly erupts with crimson sparks and overall appeared more like a fancy dagger with the gem encrusted on either side of its handguard. Or at least should have as one of the gems was missing only to find its way on the guard of the other weapon. In its place was that energy.
Although the energy formed a more pinkish-red pearl when acting as an ornament for the swords.
Both "swords" were even interconnected by crimson strings that were weaved together to form a chain of fabric that attached them by the hilt.
Their hilts, though, were wrapped in the traditional japanese fashion with that very same "chain".
"Must… Find… Them…"
A sickly sweet voice that could entice the hardest of minds rang out from the being; even if her lack of humanity was clear for anyone who could see her. Her body seemed to be falling into black ink that dyed her white cloth. Alabaster skin flaking away to show an inside of writhing tendrils.
She was like a porcelain doll inhabited by the most monstrous abyss that the human mind could never wrap its head around. Those crimson feline eyes bleeding as she clutched her head with an expression that switched between pain & bliss. Freedom often came with a price, after all.
Heading through the city wasn't exactly a violent endeavour nevertheless the harm was probably far greater than if it were.
Because the spiritual pressure she unconsciously unleashed caused people to just…
Cease.
Removed from existence as if they had never come to be in the first place - her uncontrolled energy is causing their bodies & souls to erupt. Like water balloons forced into depths that their feeble vessels simply couldn't resist for long. Shrivelling up until they simply ceased to be any longer.
There was no form of malice in their deaths as it was more akin to a human accidentally crushing some microbes that they had no idea even existed. The abyssal creature was too busy trying to keep its human shape as well as resist the pressure on her own mind. A series of requests that got more weighted.
[You just need to say our name~.]
[Less name… More title?]
[Ah you are as cute as always yohohohoho~.]
That laugh caused an unconscious shiver as the cat ears atop her head began to twitch; their hair no doubt beautiful as it contained all the beauty of the galaxy within. Only part of her hair that wasn't akin to that night sky was her eyebrows… Or at least one of them that hadn't peeled away.
An upper corner of her face clattered loudly as its porcelain form fell to the floor to shatter into particles of raw uncorrupted reishi.
Within the hole left behind was a writhing abyss that looked back with an eye that contained the galaxy.
[Oh~ oh~ I have a great idea; why doesn't my mother dearest admit her own name first!]
[Ara~ I do believe that is a great idea, my chaotic little other half~!]
[Ehehehe~.]
The exchange was nothing short of a blessing that nearly brought a smile to her pursed lips until she shook the relief from her mind as she stopped in place. Thrashing her head as if trying to shake the bad thoughts out of her mind. Practically squealing out which caused a burst of Reiatsu to erase more people.
"You two shouldn't exist in this place!"
[Yohohoho~]
That laugh started as it usually did… Only for the abyssal cat to feel a warm salty breeze pass over her ear as a large amount of "softness" pressed against her back. Arms wrapping around her shoulders as a far taller figure slovenly let their weight fall on her.
Another figure the same height as her tightly clutching to her side.
"We will always exist, beyond just being primordials, as we are your legacy Sensei. So call out to us and we'll fix all this - as well as any other problems to find yourself in - as nothing can challenge us. Beyond the heavenly and mortal realms; we alone stand as the ones that bring life."
"We bring meaning to the meaningless and meaningless to the meaning obsessed."
""We are the infinite chaos that give existence its name.""
"STOP IT!"
Her roaring caused those figures to both vanish as if they never existed… But they did.
[Why is she so grumpy…]
[Ara~ do not worry; she'll come to terms soon enough.]
[So… You don't know?]
[I was the scholar not the all knowing eye… Isn't that right Sensei~?]
Gritting her teeth as she had half a mind to throw those conjoined blades away but another part of her remembered the pair they were modelled after. A pair of unlikely soul mates that had a bond so strong that it broke through time and fate. Their ranting is only absurd in how few words they chose to express it.
That begged the question of why they appeared once she grabbed those two katanas (only one of them even appearing as a japanese blade now) after her "death". It unleashed her spiritual energy yet it also revealed the true form of her soul. An eldritch-ian mess of chimeric proportions by her own design.
[[Yes.]]
Those two seemed very eager to get her to accept that fact; however, to the eldritch being, it felt more like they were inclined to annoy her to death.
She just got rid of two tagalongs only to pick up another two.
Growling out as she tried to get her form under control.
It may appear as if she's falling apart or in danger of death or mutation… Although it was actually happening in the opposite order. She had been trying to reclaim a familiar humanoid shape yet it seemed to always end up in the same familiar figure of the monstrous little doll.
[I may not be a psychologist-]
"No but you are a registered sociopath."
Her biting remark went completely ignored.
[-but it can't be healthy to run away from an immutable truth… You are Mun-]
"But why do I have to be?"
[?]
The seemingly dominant of the two spirits within her soul was quite confused since she never was good at the whole empathy thing. Hence why she felt the best way to respect her teacher was to run her through her back without caring about anyone else's thoughts.
As such her reaction was-
[Of course.]
-blunt.
It was a complex issue she had been dealing with ever since the three cats were reincarnated within this brand new, completely unclaimed, world. There were no reminders of their past. In such a place it was easy to forget it should have been quite clear what her name was.
To the many "duplicate" souls of the little black cat there were two paths; those who made the cut all became the mighty Cheshire's who brought with her the achievements of the prime. Technically they were body doubles yet they still shared the name. Then there were those who had to rely on magic & rituals.
They became monsters who congregated into one entity in a far more united fashion than the Cheshire's who each technically had their own free will.
More akin to a hive mind that served as the caretakers of the spirit world and ate the void between realms.
Their united goal was to become stronger by plundering the strengths of others through evil rituals.
And she was one of them.
[Well I always found your title cooler than "the little black cat" chehehe~.]
[The blackest cat there is yohohoho~.]
Though perhaps that bluntness was exactly what she needed.
Her power stopped peeling away at the porcelain-like outer shell that she used to hide the insidious monster that hid under the cute front.
"Indeed… Why should I feel rejected or remorseful for what I am?"
Those lips curled up as she tilted her head back as that shell began to visibly stretch to cover more of her inky black spectre inside. Soon her appearance was that of a doll with hair beyond beauty. A magical display that revealed her to be far from humans - even if one ignored the feline ears or tail.
"I do need some more fitting apparel, however."
[We can always just take it~]
[Ara~ I do suppose these mortals won't be needing theirs soon but I do believe our power is more suited.]
That caused the cat's brow to raise in curiosity.
"Oh~? And what, pray tell, does your power include?"
[Hm~? Well… You only need to call our combined name to find out yohohoho~.]
She thought for a moment since she really was not a fan of her lacking appearance nevertheless she had to realise that Cheshire could only keep that monster for so long. As, seemingly, he had some kind of powerup mid fight. Her other self was powerful yet that power relied on her wisdom more.
A mechanic can't fix anything without his tools; no matter how skillful they may be.
[If you are worried for the girls… We can always help with that as well…]
[Bu-]
[Do not worry, Chaos~.]
Her voice sultry with a tenderness of motherhood yet the master of the abyss knew both were a front to hide the cold calculating god that hid behind.
Still she knew she had no better options.
"What do you want…?"
[Release us from our sealed states and I'll grant you back the eyes that begin your journey as the abyss.]
"The eyes that make me Munzumira could only be…"
[Indeed… The eyes you wretched from the head of fate before sending her into the pits of hell.]
A slight sadistic glint flashed through her crimson eyes.
"Go on…"
