Chapter 561 - Event rewards and break

[Egg of the Juvenile Twin-Tailed Celestial Fox

Category: Unique

Effect: A Juvenile Twin-Tailed Celestial Fox can be hatched from this egg, which can be tamed as a flying mount. As a juvenile celestial beast, it has great growth potential.

Restrictions: Level 60; a free flying mount slot

The Twin-Tailed Celestial Fox is known for its trickery and mischievousness. It has medium flight speed. Aligned with both holy and dark elements it is good at combat.]

Liam stared at the description with an excited grin. In his past life playing as a hunter the fox unfortunately didn't suit him, but he always found it to be the most interesting flying mount. His choice of playing as an original nephilim and going for the holy, and soon chaotic, tempest class was certainly influenced by it.

After choosing the celestial fox, Liam was deducted 2500 points. It was one of the most expensive rewards one could redeem. However, the friends were rich in points and Liam still had enough to buy a unique equipment. He decided on a necklace with a simple but brutal effect of strengthening all holy and dark damage by 20%. Furthermore, should the increased damage brought by the necklace be below 100 points, the effect would be strengthened by another 10%. This effect was stackable until the damage boost broke through the 100-point mark, whereafter it would last for a duration of 30 seconds.

Liam still had some points left which he invested in materials for equipment upgrades. Finally, he had made his choice. However, he held off with confirming it for now as this would directly send him back to the real world. But Liam wanted to wait for his friends in case someone had a question for him.

However, not everyone thought so far. While Liam was waiting, he saw both Cyclone and Balm both vanish suddenly. He even seemed to notice a surprised look in Cyclone's eyes. Liam could only roll his eyes hoping that the two girls spent all their points. Since there was a warning from C if one wanted to leave without using up all points there should be no trouble though.

The others carefully continued their selection. Liam had to answer two or three questions. But after a while everyone was satisfied. They confirmed their choice and were swiftly kicked out by C.

Liam was the last to leave. When he opened his eyes and looked around, he saw Cynthia and Mel already chatting excitedly.

"Legendary mount! I can't wait!"

"Yes, yes! As soon as we get back, we need to train to level 60 immediately!"

"A whole week… I don't want to wait for that long."

"Mhm…"

"I think this comes at the perfect time.", chimed Silva in. "With a break of one week we can use it to officially open the guild house."

"Silva has a point.", agreed Dominic after just waking up.

Thereafter, the topic shifted. The friends began discussing about the opening of the guilds house. Fortunately, they were already prepared and had only been waiting for the perfect time. Now that Fate of Crunaboul was taking a break it was just right. There were only some smaller details left like placing the merch into shelves and decorating the lower floors. But this would be done by the staff. Other than the people from Liam's old community, Dream Avenue had also found capable managers and experienced workers. All in all, they had a functioning team, which only lacked some experience in working together.

As the conversation entered a brief lull someone else came over. It was Chris, the young teenager who moved into the guild house even earlier than Liam and Serena. He looked at Cynthai with bright eyes, asking:

"Cy, did you really get a legendary flying mount?"

Earlier, Liam didn't forget to inform the rest of the guild of the option to choose upgradable, unique flying mounts. However, not many could afford so many points. And even those who could afford it might find some of the equipment more suitable. Thus, there were not more than a dozen guild members other than Hotpot who had chosen to redeem a flying mount with legendary potential.

Furthermore, while observing Dream Avenue's excitement Callida had noticed something, asking for the reason. For a low price of 100 gold Liam sold them the information. This was already generous. If they weren't in an alliance there was no way Force of Nature could have gotten this piece of information. And with Callida already knowing about it, Cyclone decided to proactively message Nest of Flames, selling them the information as well. Thus, the group knowing about the flying mounts could be said to be neither big nor small.

Now that Chris came to ask her, Cynthia immediately stuck out her chest proudly and replied:

"Of course! As a guild leader I am representing Dream Avenue. In the future I naturally need to arrive on a legendary mount!"

"Awesome!"

"That's our guild leader."

"Not only our guild leader, right? I think all of Hotpot's members might have chosen a legendary mount."

"Damn, I'm so envious. I didn't have enough points."

The other guild members living in the guild house swarmed around Cynthia, talking excitedly. At the side was one of the new workers preparing the restaurant area for dinner, listening in confusion without knowing of the rarity of legendary items.

"Guild leader, what mount did you chose? Did you get a dragon?"

"The guild leader is an expert in thunder magic. Perhaps she got a thunder-related dragon."

"Why is everyone so into dragons? I think some exotic beasts are so much more interesting. What about some thunder-wielding tiger beasts?"

"Is that even a thing?"

"Sure, why not?"

Listening to the guild members Cynthia wanted to show off at first but then decided otherwise. She would not reveal anything for now and let the others guess. Her only answer was a brief:

"You'll see…"

"Come on, guild leader. Not fair! We want to know before others. We need something to boast about."

"Right, right. Please tell us!"

The guild members tried from various angles, but Cynthia remained tight-lipped. She even implored her friends not to talk about it for now. In her head it would be more impressive to keep the mounts a secret and then enter some large city, summon all the mounts at once, and fly off under the admiring gazes of everyone.

Liam could only roll his eyes. Flying was prohibited in most cities. However, Cynthia was in luck as Duabalis was an exception because of the city's extensive layout. Perhaps her imagined scenario could be turned into reality. However, this time after returning to the game, everyone would be occupied with finally advancing their classes, so this remained to be seen.

The guild members talked a bit more before they dispersed. After a few weeks of living in the guild house Liam already had his routine. He went to the gym, first assisting Serena with some easier training. For this, he even had to read up on quite some information. After all, he had no experience with training other children and was concerned with Serena's health. Fortunately, the federation held martial arts in high regard and there was a lot of information concerning healthy development even from childhood.

After Serena was exhausted, Liam continued with his own training while supporting his friends if necessary. He could feel his steady and continuous progress. With the state-of-the-art gym his skills were improving at a rapid pace and even his martial arts were slowly progressing towards the fourth stage.

At the end of the training routine Liam once again sparred against Silva. Although they didn't do so every day, their spars had already become a habit. However, after multiple fights they were basically even, knowing each other's moves quite well. It had to be said that Liam and Silva still made sure no one knew the result of their spars, purely out of fun. Their friends weren't really interested. Only Cynthia and Mel always tried to find out, which developed into an amusing game between them.

This time Cynthai and Mel stayed back at the gym, peeking out from a corner. However, Liam and Silva naturally wouldn't be fooled. They simply ended their spar early without determining a winner.

"Hmpf. We will get you one day!"

Unsuccessful, Cynthia and Mel huffed and left to take a shower and change clothes. Liam winked at Silva and left the sparring ring, delivering a few punches to a sandbag. Silva understood, copying his actions, stopping after a minute or so. Right then, the gym door was suddenly pushed open and two figures jumped in with a loud shout.

"Aha!"

"Got you!"

But all Cynthia and Mel saw were Liam and Silva standing next to the sandbags, laughing brightly. The two girls knew their plan had been seen through. They cursed inwardly and left. This time Liam and Silva followed. The four friends washed up and went to eat dinner with the others. Afterwards everyone stayed in the living area, playing around, watching a movie. Liam checked if there were any messages or news during the day before joining his friends and they let the evening fade away in the guild house.
