And Nova never hesitated.
It's fine. Since Cupid sacrificed for me, I will do the same too…
Sometimes Cupid doesn't see how much he has done for me, but I do.
I see it all…
And he loves his friend and family so much that it hurts…yet he still go one with it as if nothing had ever happened.
But even how much I try…I can't be like him.
I easily grew a dislike for those who were getting on my nerves, and I just learn not to show it out.
I'm nothing like Cupid…just a rotten corpse standing by…

"What?! Nova got…got one of the highest points on the gift test?!"
"Kari, don't scream…" Riley frowns as he tries to organize all the work that got throw on to him after he came back to school.
"But don't you think that's scary…"
"Uh…" Noah gave Kari a nod in agreement. "That guy said the question was weird, and look at that~"
"Lan is not gonna like this…" Kari whispers to Noah.
They both looked at the score of the gift test, surprised at how big the number is for Nova's name.
"Well…at least I got enough score so my parent won't eat me alive…" Noah breathed out a relieved sigh.
"Now all we need to worry about is the midterm exam…" Kari shook her head in disappointment. "Test after test after test…"
"Why are you looking so tired about~ Kari…" Noah puffed his cheeks. "You didn't even take the gift test…"
"Studying is still very tiring, you know!"
"Whatever~ Not listen~" Noah looked away for a moment before turning his head back: "Tell me, Kari. Did anything intesing happened when we were gone?"
"Uhm…not much…" Kari tries to remember if there's anything else going on aside from the midterm test and winter festival coming up.
"Cupid or the others doesn't run around and hurt anyone, right?" Riley then asked with a worried face. As the president of class A-2, he feels like he has the responsibility to keep everyone in check, even if it is not a necessary thing.
"Why are you being so pacific, president?" Then Kari made a big smile on her face: "But your guess is right~ He does run around. If I'm right, he was chasing down a student from class A-1. I was walking nearby, and they both ran over like vumm!Vumm! Though nothing bad happened after that, so…I think they're just having fun~!"
Riley's face turned slightly pale…having fun?! Cupid chasing down someone?! What now!!!
"Oh god, come down, will you?" Kari put her hand on both of Riley shouder to set him down: "I know section A is for good students and not everyone will be as violent as Cupid and some other…but spare them some slack, we're still young, so let them have some fun!"
"Yeah, that's right~" Noah nodded his head in joy. "We are young, so let's set the world on fire.
We can burn brighter than the sun~♪."
"He at it again…" Kari whispers with a giggle in her tone.
"Talking about it…who was this special guest that got so lucky to be chased by Cupid himself?" Noah tilted his head with curiosity.
"No idea, just heard that he's from class A-1." Kari shook her head slightly.
"Must be really lucky~ to be chased by someone like him~"
Kari and Noah both giggle while looking at each other.
These guys…Riley rubbed his hand through his hair. This whole dam class is giving him more headaches than 10 Cupid combine…
And about the culprit of all this chatting? He is in the class with them…it just…the guy chasing down people like a horse running with a loose chain that day is now about to bust into tears from math homework…
"Why aren't you telling me about any of this…" Nova is smiling in a threatening way.
"I'm sorry…I know you must be tired, so…I…didn't ask…"
"I already told you, Cupid! You can ask me about homework at anytime." Nova, leading in closer; he was sitting next to Cupid and trying to help him with his overdue homework.
"I'm sorry…"
Uh! Cupid being sad like a wet little cat is one of Nova's weak points…good thing that Cupid doesn't realize that, or he could have weaponized it when Nova gets mad at him.
This is…this is too dangerous!
"…uhm…next time promise you'll tell me if you need help, alright, Cupid?"
"I will…"
"Good, good!" Nova patting Cupid on the head, but then he feels the need to rub it harder and accidentally turns Cupid's hair into a mess.
"Uh…Nova…"
"Hehe, sorry…let me…" Nova quicky stand up and walks behind Cupid to help him turn his crown's nest-like hair back to normal. "So, you decide to go for the marathon games?"
"Yes."
"I'll cheer for you!"
"You should be cheering for your crush."
"Cupid!" Nova whispering in his mouth, pulling Cupid's hair a bit too hard, but Cupid was having fun joking around with Nova, so he didn't mind the pain.
"Seriously, he wants to win too…I have no idea what games he chose; he didn't tell me about it, so…"
"Is that so…" Nova knows that Cupid and Heos seem to have turned into some kind of friendship relationship lately. Of course, he doesn't worry; he knew Cupid would not slip a bean about it, but he got a little worked up because not everyone can handle Cupid as well as Nova…
I hope he doesn't find Cupid strange or come to think he is too different from everyone else…
When they were young, Cupid wasn't able to make friends with lots of people because his way of expressing himself was hard for people to understand…
It was a good thing he was able to be friend someone who understood him back then…but now they both go to diffrent school, so his only go to is Nova.
"Nova, don't get worked up."
"Oh…I did?"
"You know, when you're deep in thinking, you usually stare at me like that…"
"Sorry…"
"No need to." Cupid tapped lightly on Nova's forehead. "Don't worry about me all the time, Nova. I'll be just fine, you should think more about how to confess your…ow…"
Nova immediately stepped his shoes on to Cupid's shoes when he said that: "Now, now Cupid… let's get your math homework done by today, shall we?"
"Yes, Nova…"
"Don't have too much fun pissing me like that these days, Cupid. I'll quit cooking for you for a month if you keep doing this."
"Sorry, Nova…don't starve me…"
His eyelid, slightly falling down, you have no idea he's sad, but the closer you look, you can see Cupid is expressing that he feels sorry for it. Like a child who just broke his mother's favorite pot.
Gods! Why is he so adorable…! I will protect you, Cupid! Even if I'm weaker than you!
Nova jumps over to give him a hug: "Alright…I'll forgive you this time…"
If Cupid ever has a lover, it doesn't matter if they're a girl or a boy…it doesn't matter…as long as Cupid loves them and they love Cupid back…Nova will help Cupid as much as he had helped Nova…!
After class ended, Nova walked out of the class to meet up with Rose.
"Here you go, Rose. All the answer of the gift test, just as you asked for."
Rose gave him a small nodded: "Thank."
Nova smiled at her and handed over the paper to Rose.
She read it for a bit and looked back at Nova: "Sometimes I wonder how God can create such a monster like you."
Nova blinks. Is this praise or…? "Well, I think it's really easy, Rose! You just need to read a lot. And the more you read, the more skills you get, and learn new words and use them for the test! To be honest, I did make up some parts; I mostly studied the story and the context the author wanted to express through the character…"
"Hm…"
"I'm sorry if that's not helpful…"
"It's fine…"
Nove wonder…for some reason…these days Rose had been looking at him with something of a different gaze…
At first, Nova thought he was just imagining such things. What did he do to make Rose look at him like that? But it's been nearly three weeks now, and it seems she still…
She acts all normal, but sometimes she looks at him like she wants to squeeze Nova into juice…
"Rose? Is anything…"
"No…nothing…" She looked over to the school window for a while before looking back: "So…do you busy this afternoon?"
"Y…yes…?"
W…what's going on…?
"Are you…never mind…"
"No…it's alright! I'm not busy at all. I was about to…go back home…that's all…" Well…he was about to go back home with Cupid like normal, but he couldn't just say he going back to Cupid's home, that sounds weird!
"Then just go back home, alright!"
Then she turned her feet and walked away just like that.
"What was…that…" Nova has no idea what just happened…
Is Cupid related to this? He heard they gone to coffee at one of Cupid and Nova's favorite places for some chit chat. Not like Nova cares about what they're talking about, but does this situation have something to do with it?
"Maybe not…"
Let's not get invovle into whatever is going on with it…he had no interest in other people's business anyway…
"Right…!" He just remembers he can't go back with Cupid today…" Cupid!" as he runs back to class A-2, he saw Cupid just walk out of the room.
"Uh?"
"I'm so sorry! We can't go back home together today…"
"Oh…"
"Ahh, don't be sad, I promised I'll make your favorite tofu fried with super crunchy skin tomorrow!"
"Nova…you start getting too loud too…"
"Sorry…" too…he said?
Cupid raised a hand to pet Nova's head: "It's fine, I can wait. I also have to get to the council president's room to hand him this paper after all."
"Ah, the spot game coming this Friday?"
"Yeh."
"I see…You still join the marathon one?"
"As always."
"Hehe…I knew it."
"But I think I'll still take my second place and go home." As the same as last year.
"I'll cheer for you! So go take that first place!"
"No way…" Cupid slightly frowns.
"Hey! Don't give up that early…" Nova slapped Cupid on the side of his arm: "We have to try!"
"So much talking…how about you run for me, Nova?"
"I think I'll die without even reaching half of the road…"
"Then…I'll jump in to carry you and continue to run."
"Aren't you just making it worse!" Nova giggles as he tries to hold his breath in: "Anyway, sorry that I can't come over. I need to get home soon and show my parents my gift score."
"Yeh…I know they'll be asking about that first."
"Heh…" Nova looks down at his feet. "They complain a bit…But I'm sure it's fine!"
"Uhm…"
Cupid doesn't like Nova's parents…well, Nova can see that Cupid has a slightly complicated face whenever Nova talks about them…
But what can he do about it…his parents are a bit more strict, and when he was young, Nova thought it was all a normal thing until the day Cupid showed up with his mother.
He started to learn that not every parent is like other parents.
He doesn't hate his parent though; he understands that they only try to do good things for him. Why should…he doubt them…

"Right!"
"Uh?" Cupid looked at him in confusion.
"Cupid, I was thinking of making a move!"
"Oh?"
"I can't just stay like this forever…I will…try to talk to Heos!"
"Ah…that good, that good. Very good." Cupid petted Nova's head again and again.
"Hey now! I'm the one doing it! Why are you so happy about…"
"Nothing…" Cupid tapped on Nova's nose before putting his hand down: "Just really happy for you."
"Uhm…" Nova feels like digging a hole right here and hiding himself in the underworld forever…: "Thank you…"
"Uh."
"To be honest with you, Cupid. You kinda give me motivation…like, a lot!"
"I did? I guess…that a good thing?"
"Hm! Because I don't know much about romance…so your reaction really gives me an understanding of…like…doing something…"
"Yeh?"
"Like when you told me that waiting is too long, I think to myself that I need to do something…"
"That…great…" at least he learn that he can't just wait until it come to his way…well, any case but this one…this one? He can actually wait, and a cute yellow puppy will eventually run his way…but Cupid holds it in and doesn't want to spoil such things for Nova.
"So if I need your help, can I…ask for your hand at some point?"
"I gladly will help you, my princess."
"Cupid!" Nova kicks one of Cupid's legs in the process of trying to calm himself down after that Cupid joke.
"Ow…that hurt…" Cupid rubbed his knee with his hand: "But yes, of course I will help. You think I would say no?"
"If Cupid says no, I will bait you with food."
"Okay, okay, you win." It's true that Nova food is the best food in the world; there's no way Cupid can give up on such change.
"Hehe…see you tomorrow, Cupid."
"Remember tofu fried, alright…"
"Yes, I will, my little Beelzebub…"
"I'm not THAT gluttony…!"
"Hehehehehe."
While the union of Cupid and Nova was peaceful, it wasn't a very lovely scene back at class A-1…
"Heos…what did you do~"
"Sinon…Sinon, I can explain!!!"
"What did I tell you, Heos! For every day I'm gone, you need to buy me a lollipop?!"
"Liu…I'm sorry…I will buy tens next time! I promise!"
Heos is being cornered by his two friends…for a lot of reasons.
Or…three?
"Heos, meet me at the school council room this afternoon. I have some lovely plans I need to discuss with you."
"C…council president…please spare my life…I still wanted to live for a bit longer!!!"
