Jayden's eyes widened. "Wait… seriously?"
"Yeah," she said softly.
Jayden chuckled. "So, you're like an hybrid?"
Ava smiled faintly. "You could say that," she replied. "But my mum sealed my Lycan genes when I was five, so I can't exactly transform like you do,"
Jayden winced. "Aw, that sucks," he smiled wryly.
"It does," Ava said simply, then her eyes hardened again. "Now.. back to my question. Who are you?"
Jayden sighed. "Are we really still doing this?"
"We are," Ava said firmly.
Jayden chuckled, leaning back slightly. "And if I told you, would you still call the Queen and have my head skewered?"
Ava crossed her arms. "No," she said quietly. "I won't tell her. You have my word,"
Jayden tilted his head, pretending to contemplate. Of course he wasn't going to tell her anything. He just wanted to buy some more time with Ava and see if he could learn more about Lycans from her.
