Jayden's lips parted, but no words came out. His throat felt tight. For once, the sharp, witty comebacks that usually came so easily to him failed him. Tasha's words had cracked something open inside him, and all he could do was sit there, breath shallow, mind racing.
Finally, his voice came… quiet, steady, but heavy.
"You're not wrong," he confessed. "I do… possess other abilities."
Tasha's breath hitched, but she didn't speak. She just waited, her eyes fixed on him, urging him to continue.
Jayden exhaled, running a hand down his jacket as though the motion could ground him. "It all started when I woke up from the coma. Everything felt… different. Like the world had shifted. I began to feel things I couldn't explain.. a strange connection to the wild, to beasts. And then… suddenly I could do things. Things I shouldn't be able to. Powers, skills… abilities I don't even fully understand."
