Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: Three Times Bigger Than Shiki's!

Friug clearly hadn't anticipated offending so many people by associating with Higashino Kanade. Though he'd unwittingly drawn fire away from the boy, Kanade compensated him out of basic decency.

Their partnership ended there. As Heine had said, Friug was a mercenary without principles - the first to flee when Kanade faced trouble. Working with him was like making plans with a tiger. Kanade needed a new ally.

This necessity stemmed from his damnable temporary mission:

[The Truth of the Inheritance]

To uncover the truth behind Griven's legacy, Kanade had to participate in the inheritance dispute. Solving Griven's three riddles was required to claim the inheritance - and Kanade understood none of them!

Having reincarnated into the Type-Moon world barely a month ago, he knew nothing of magecraft mysteries. It was like asking an illiterate person to solve college-level problems - utterly impossible!

His solution? The same old strategy: mooching off others... no, "seeking powerful allies" this time. Though he'd forgotten most plot details, he knew the protagonist Waver (El-Melloi II) would inevitably solve this case. His plan? Befriend Waver and ride his coattails to victory.

Being carried might seem spineless, but why work hard when you can slack? For a sloth like Kanade, playing second fiddle sounded perfect. There was no shame in relying on stronger allies!

"From the reflection earlier, his invitation showed 'Mihael.' Now that I've found his room number, I can propose cooperation. Revealing some Fourth Holy Grail War secrets and Fifth War prophecies should secure my position. Maybe he'll even recommend me to the Clock Tower later."

Kanade ascended to the guest rooms, scanning incomprehensible nameplates until stopping before one marked "Michael."

"The door's unlocked?"

Pushing it open, he didn't find Waver and Gray, but a pajama-clad Luviagelita hugging a plush puppy.

Her state of undress was... generous. The unbuttoned pajama top revealed impressive cleavage barely contained by lace lingerie, while the missing bottoms showcased long, shapely legs.

"Wh-wh-wh-what are you doing in my room?!" Luviagelita shrieked, pointing accusingly.

"Wow! Those are huge! At least three times bigger than Shiki's!" Kanade's brain short-circuited at the sight.

After this involuntary comparison, confusion set in. Why was Luviagelita here when he'd targeted Waver's room? And were those magical energy bullets forming in her hand?

In this critical moment, Kanade had an epiphany: play the clueless child card. Nobody punishes adorable kids. (His inspiration? Detective Conan's endless excuses.)

Activation mode engaged, his wide eyes brimmed with innocent confusion as he spoke in pure, childlike tones: "Oops! Wrong room? Sorry pretty lady, I'll leave now."

The "pretty lady" compliment landed perfectly. With his ethereal beauty, such praise carried weight - like being called "handsome" by a celebrity versus a random person.

"P-pretty lady?" Luviagelita's anger dissolved into flustered blushing, the unexpected praise sweet as honey.

"Well... if it was an accident... A proper lady forgives such things. But knock next time, cute little brother." She buttoned up while patting his silky hair.

"Okay, pretty lady!"

"Gah! Why's this child so charming?!" Luviagelita's heart raced, her好感度 skyrocketing.

Kanade sighed internally at her delighted expression - crisis averted.

"Gray, are you sure this is the right room?"

"Yes, Master. The name matches our invitation."

Waver and Gray's voices approached. Upon entering, they witnessed Luviagelita petting Kanade's head.

Murderous intent erupted as Luviagelita leveled a finger at Waver, a暗红色的Gandr shot materializing.

While ordinary magi's Gandr curses merely cause illness, Luviagelita's Finnish mastery could stop hearts instantly - a national specialty and... questionable hobby.

"Barging into my room uninvited - is this a declaration of war, Lord El-Melloi II?" Her glare could freeze the Arctic.

Waver nervously adjusted his glasses, desperately strategizing. "Wait, madam, there must be some mistake."

"Are you claiming you also 'accidentally' entered the wrong room?"

"Also?"

Noticing Kanade behind her, Waver received a harmless wave from the smirking boy.

"Look, my Angel Name is clearly 'Mihael' - this is definitely my assigned room!" Waver frantically displayed his invitation.

"...How peculiar." Comparing invitations, Luviagelita spotted the discrepancy. "Yours is 'Mihael,' mine 'Michael' - just one letter apart."

"Oh no! My apologies, Master!" Gray trembled like a scolded puppy.

"Thus, madam, this was purely accidental. Our deepest apologies. Gray, let's go."

As Waver tried retreating, Luviagelita's magical energy spiked violently.

"You think my room is a marketplace - come and go as you please? After seeing me like this, are you prepared to have your eyes gouged out?"
