"So, what's your first class this morning?" Dorin asked Sebastian as they made their way out of the SCS room that Wednesday morning.
[I have Herbology with Prof. Dimitrio, then Advance Charms in the afternoon, with Prof. Raevers] Sebastian replied on his slate. [We will be starting with advance arcane symbols today.]
"Oh, can I sit in on your class?!" Dorin asked wide-eyed.
"Idiot, we have our Elemental Weapons class with Maj. Gen. Muller today!" Johan reminded him.
"Oh, that's right! That's pretty interesting, too! Also, I get to be in Marcus' class again," Dorin grinned. "What about you Bennette?"
"I have a class with Prof. Althea..." Patrice Bennette trailed off. "In the Magic Department's Hospital..."
"We'll see you guys later in campus, then!"
Dorin waved at the other two as they separated at the Dorm's entrance.
The day was uneventful. After their first class, Dorin separated from Johan. He met up with Sebastian and the fire mage again in the Magic Department castle's main dining hall come lunch time.
"Ah, I'm famished!" said Johan as he started eating his braised pork and mashed potatoes. "I still feel so hungry even after eating all those sausages from breakfast!"
"You can say that, again..." replied Dorin whose cheeks bulged as he chewed on a chicken leg. "I feel like I could go back to the buffet table three times!"
"I could go back five times!" Johan said, not wanting to lose against Dorin.
"I could go 12 times!"
[Both of you just finish your food] said Sebastian who placed the slate down between his two companions. [What exactly did you do yesterday that got you so hungry?] he asked. [Last night when you came back to our room, all you did was eat then go straight to bed.]
"Just some boring drills, since Dean Alcione had to leave for a meeting," answered Johan.
[Drills, huh? Xander and his group was in your class, too, right? I didn't see them this morning.]
Dorin scratched his head.
All he could remember was doing some boring drills, but try as he may, he could not seem to recall just what those boring drills were, exactly.
He was still busy racking his brains, when he heard a familiar voice call him from behind.
"Dorin! I finally found you!"
He turned around as a young lady placed her arms around him and gave him a tight hug.
"Eirian?!" Dorin looked up, surprised. "Is it really you?! How did you find me here?!"
He quickly turned to hug the girl back.
"Kid, I'd find you anywhere you go!" Eirian said with a grin.
"Did my mom tell you where I was?"
"Well, yeah, there's that..."
"And you're wearing the Magic department's uniform, too!"
Dorin moved back to take a good look at his friend who is currently wearing a loose white polo shirt under a gray cloak. She had her black hair divided into two curly ponytails, tied with cute heart shaped clips with stuffed bunnies on it. Her beautiful face shone as Dorin fussed over her, big purple eyes glittering, full red lips in a gentle smile.
"Do you like it?" she gave a little twirl that ended in a curtsy, her cloak and short skirt puffing up as she spun. "I made some improvements to make it look cuter." The boots she wore had heals, making her even taller than Dorin who only reached up to her chin.
"You always look cute no matter what you wear, Eirian!" Dorin praised her.
"Why, thank you!" Eirian hugged him once more. "My Dorin looks sooo cute, as well!" she said while squeezing him.
Eirian looked down at the table's other occupants.
Sebastian and Johan looked back, the later with his mouth full of braised pork.
"Are these your friends?"
"Let me introduce you!" Dorin looked back at his two companions. "These are Sebastian Revious and Johan Ignacius, we are all in the Special Class Sphere together. Guys, this is my best friend since childhood, Eirian!"
[Nice to meet you] Sebastian wrote on his slate.
"Hello," Johan mumbled after swallowing the food in his mouth.
"So where's the 5th member of our sphere?" asked Eirian with a friendly smile.
"Our?" Dorin looked at her, questioning.
"Oh, didn't I tell you? I've been assigned to the Special Class Sphere as well!" she smiled brightly. "That means we can have classes together until we graduate!"
"Oh, that's great!" Dorin jumped around while holding on to Eirian's dainty hands.
Some of the students that have been watching them since Eirian approached the group to whisper among themselves.
"Did you hear that? That girl got into the SCS as well!"
"She must be another powerful magus, like Johan and Dorin..."
"I wonder what her specialty magic is?"
"Have you eaten yet?" Johan asked Eirian while cleaning his plate. "I'm off to get my 2nd serving."
"Oh, I had a bite to eat before I came here," answered Eirian. "I actually had some lunch with your aunt Agate, she helped me through the enrollment process."
"You know Aunt Agate, too?" Dorin asked her.
"Nope, I just asked your mom to give me a recommendation letter and she told me to go to your aunt for help."
"And she actually gave you one?!" Dorin asked surprised.
"I have my ways!" Eirian replied with a grin.
"Yeah, mom could never say no to you," said Dorin with a pout before proceeding to finish his lunch.
[Pardon, but what Division are you in?] Sebastian interrupted the two by tapping on the table top.
"I'm in Magic Defense, just like Dorin! I even got assigned in all of his classes!" she replied happily.
'She got assigned in all of Dorin's classes?' Sebastian thought to himself. 'But aren't the subjects patterned exactly to the SCSstudents' abilities?'
"That's an interesting slab," said Eirian, breaking his chain of thought. "Did you make it yourself?"
[Actually, it was Dorin who made this for me] replied Sebastian.
"Yeah, I got him involved in an accident and got his writing arm injured so I charmed the slab for him," Dorin said as he ate.
"May I?"
Sebastian handed the slate to Dorin's friend who turned it around in her hands before handing it back.
"You're getting better and better at charming things, Dorin!" she said fondly while rustling Dorin's messy brown hair.
"Hey, if you plan to go for seconds, then you better go now," Johan said as he returned to his seat. "The food's about to run out."
"Oh, I better go then!"
Dorin hurriedly stuffed the rest of his food inside his mouth before heading back to the buffet table.
"Ah, he's still as adorable as ever!" Eirian mumbled at he watched the young mage get more food. "So, how has it been since Dorin came here?" she asked his friends.
"Crazy..." Johan mumbled absentmindedly.
Eirian laughed. Several students turned to look at her as she did, gaping at her beauty.
"He's just so cute, isn't he? We've been together since we were kids, and I've always looked after him."
[Yes, I seem to remember him mentioning you,] wrote Sebastian.
"But tell me. Has anything... big happened around my Dorin lately?" Eirian asked again.
[We were almost abducted by some wizards from the capital once,] Sebastian found himself writing. [The groundskeeper, Damien Wolfsbane helped us out.]
"There's also that thing with the dragons, and the third prince, and we were also trapped by the Morel family after their son got into some trouble..." said Johan, counting on his fingers.
"Wow, I guess a lot has happened while I was away from home..." mumbled Eirian. "I should never have left him for so long..."
"Why? Where did you go?" Johan asked, his head tilted to a side.
Eirian looked at him with interest.
"I was looking for a gift for my baby Dorin, too bad I couldn't find one that would suit him..." she said with a shy smile that made several onlookers sigh. Johan blushed and looked away.
[I gift?] Sebastian asked.
"Yup! He just turned 13 this summer! I was planning on a super surprise for him, but I guess I lost track of time. Anyway, I'm back now, and now I can spend more time with Dorin and that's far better than any gift I could get him!"
"What are you talking about?" The three looked at Dorin who placed a plate full of food on the table as he took his seat.
"Oh, I was telling them about the gift I was planning to give you," Eirian beamed.
"You got me a gift?"
"I'm afraid not. I couldn't find the one that would fit you, but I know something that would definitely make you happy."
"Really? What is it?"
"You'll know when you finish your food," said Eirian who took a piece or grape from Dorin's plate.
