Chapter 12 - Me and my roomies

"Good morning boys," Lothar said as he blew a strong breeze through the room. The boys grunted as they forcefully rose from their bed. "Sorry guys but you said the first to wake up should wake the rest," he added. "We have to set up the room or do whatever else we have to today." "Whatcha talking about?" Aurum asked. "We just got admitted yesterday. Why you wanna rush things," Aurum said. "Let's just set things up but let's take our bath first."

‎"But where's the bath?" Lothar asked scratching his head. "Do you boys not know anything about SHSM?" Ardon asked. "You just have to ask it to come out," he added. "What do you mean by that?" Dishon asked. "Oh my Ph..., you know just say anything like you are calling a bathroom," Ardon answered. "I still don't understand," Dishon said. Ardon looked visibly irritated. "I remember now," Aurum said. "It's something like show yourself bath." As the words left his mouth, a space on the wall opened like a secret door revealing a large white bathroom. "That's amazing," Pagiel said as he and the boys walked in. As the explored the bathroom, they found ten different bathing spaces.

‎"This is so spacious," Allen said. "How do they keep something this big in a wall." "What do you expect," Lothar said. "It's magic." "Well then boys, since the space is big enough for both of us, let us all take our bath and continue with everything else," Pagiel suggested to which the boys agreed to.

‎"So guys," one of the boys said. "Since we decided to get to know each other better today, I decided that I should kick the bucket." Allen giggled when he heard what Lothar said. "What's funny?" the boy asked surprised. "Oh, it's nothing I just remembered something." "Oo-kay, he continued. "So I'm Lothar Shul Jaddai. and I'm a wind magic. I come from Veloria on the south side of Sylestrica. I live with my mother and my younger sister. And I am 17 years of age. What about you all?" he asked. " I'm Ardon Lud Helio and I'm a nature magic. I'm from Maple-Hollow and I live with my father. I'm also 17 years old." another said. "I'm Reuel Alemeth Uzziel and a water magic. I'm from Ravenshore and I live with my aunt. I'm also 17," added another. " I'm Dishon Michmash Hadadezer and I'm an earth magic. I'm from Stonebridge City and I have been living there with my grandparents for 17 years," another continued. "Well, I'm Pagiel Niromd Jachin and I'm a beast type magic. I live in Crowstead or Zootopya which ever you call it, with my grandfather and I'm 17," he added.

‎"I'm Jared Ahiro Jesher and a flame type magic. I'm from Emberreach on the far eastern side of Sylestrica and I live there with my mum. I'm 17 years too." another added. "Well I'm Aurum Reu Smith again a proud user of the metal magic. I'm from Ironvale and I'm there with my older sister and my mother," another added. "I'm Aisel Jokshan Jemuel, a music magic user. I live in Westlyn with my uncle and I'm 17," said the eighth boy. "And I'm Allen Drien Decker, a user of light magic. I'm from Earth. I live there with my mom and little sister," Allen added. "Earth," Dishon said confused. "I've never heard of that town before." "Are you perhaps out of Sylestrica?" Dishon asked. "Yes," Allen answered. "Very, very out." Wait a minute, we were ten assigned to this room but again only nine names. Where's the Azriel?" Reuel asked. "Oh you still remember. Id thought you would have forgotten," said a boy who was sleeping on one of the high beds. "Nice to meet you all. Im Azriel. Azriel Terah Rohgah."

‎"Wait Rohgah. The Rohgah clan. The lords of dark magic. That Rohgah clan. Ad I heard they have a prince who's elder siblings were murdered and..." "Enough!!!" Azriel roared. His black curly hair rose as his eyes also darkened. Black smoke like fumes started to emit from his body. "I'm not going to talk about my clan or my family and neither are any of you. Understand!!!" he shouted again shaking the walls of the room. "Oo-kay, let's get on with the arrangements, shall we," Ardon said as a book appeared in his hands.

‎"So after much consideration, we've decided that apart from a bathroom there should be a training room, a dressing room and a mini library right?" Ardon verified. "Yes," they all said in agreement. "And a lock on the door right," Ardon continued. "Right," the boys said. "Wait. If the school has a library, why does our room need one?" Dishon asked. "No questions. We've already decided," Jared shot back. "I have an idea," Allen said. "Why don't we fit the dressing room in the bathroom. I mean there are ten slots and ten of us so we can just expand our slots and create a space for the place we'll dress." "That's actually a good idea," Ardon said as he wrote it in his book. "Ay additions?" he asked. "Apart from the choosing our beds and setting the password on the door I don't think there's anything else for us to add," Jared said. "For now," Dishon added. "Yes. For now," Jared added.

‎"So for the beds there are four window beds and six wall beds so let's choose. Those who want the wall beds should please raise their hands," Ardon pleaded. Azriel, Aurum, Dishon, Reuel and Ardon raised their hands. "Okay, the four of you should move to the beds you would like," Ardon said as he turned to the remaining five. "So for you five we'll draw lots. The person with the shortest stick joins us by the wall." The boys agreed and the proceeded. After drawing, Aisel had the shorts stick. He nodded as he picked his bed. The window beds also chose their beds. "Now that that's done let's set the password for the door then we're done."

‎"So what's it going to be?" Aisel asked. "How about 'boys'," Aurum suggested. "That's too easy to guess," Ardon said. "How about we use voice recognition," Allen suggested. "What's that?" Dishon asked. "We use it where I'm from. If it wasn't your voice which says it, the lock won't open. And the magic strengthens it to detect fake voices." "That's smart," Reuel said. "But how would we do it." Allen flipped through the book before landing on a page. "It says to place your hand on the material and say 'Watashitachi no tame ni aite kudasai'." The boys nodded and they all placed their hands on the door. "Watashitachi no tame ni aite kudasai. Boys." The door shines for a few seconds before returning to normal. "Did it work?" Ardon asked. "I don't know. Let's test it." As the words left his mouth, the door opened itself. "Wow, I guess it opens when you want it to. That's nice. But Allen why do you use a spell book it's too archaic." Reuel said. "I know it's old but it was a gift from a friend so I don't want to lose it," Allen replied as he held the book close to his chest. "Oh sorry," Reuel said apologetically. "It's nothing," Allen said.

‎"Guys I'm sorry to ruin the moment but," Azriel said as he pulled the curtain apart. "It's night!!" they exclaimed.

‎"Guess so. So let's get to bed we'll choose our subjects in the morning." The boys agreed as they went to sleep on the bed they chose. All but Allen. "Im going out for a bit guys. I'll be back in a bit," he said as he stepped out of the room.

‎Allen sat at the top of the tower and looked into the night sky. Memories of his family flashed through his head. "You miss them, don't you?" someone said behind him. Allen turned to see Aurum standing looking into the sky. "What, what do you mean?" Allen asked. "Your mother and sister. You miss them right?" Aurum asked again. "Yeah I do," Allen answered. "But you lied," Aurum shot. "Wha, what are you saying," Allen said confused. "You lied about your mother and sister," Aurum added. "No. No I didn't. I...," Allen stuttered. "Don't worry," Aurum said finally looking at Allen. "We all did," Aurum said as a smile spread across his face. "Sorry to be intrusive but I cast a lie detecting spell on me before coming to the school so that no one would hurt me with their lies but today, we all lied for good reasons."

‎"Anyway, how's Earth?" Aurum asked. "Is everything still okay. Do people still make September 11 jokes? Do you still learn useless history like Ab Lincoln's death? Is Queen Elizabeth still in power or has she retired?" Allen looked at him confused as Aurum bombarded him with questions.

‎"Sorry, sorry. It's just that it's been so long like six or seven years since I left there."

‎"Oh everything is fine. Yeah everything you just said still happens, everything but the queen."

‎"Oh. I loved her you know. She was my favorite monarch."

‎"That's nice to know," Allen said. "Oh one last thing before I leave, which part of Earth were you living?" Aurum asked. "Oh I lived in Houston. What about you?" "I was in Boston," Aurum replied. "Okay it's been nice talking to you Allen. Oh and one last thing, I was never here," he said as he melted and seeped through the ground. "I wish I could do that," Allen said as he got down from the edge, opened the door and descended the stairs.

MEANWHILE

‎"Just capture him. Nothing else. No harm must come to that boy. Understand!!" Belphimore shouted. "Yes sir," they replied. "Good. Now let's go," he said as they sprouted wings and took to the sky.
