Chapter 472 - Chapter 472: He Smiled!!

Under D's guidance, the two of them quickly arrived at the area where the Nameless Land was located.

The moment he stepped into this region, D felt as if he had been plunged into an extremely violent thunderstorm.

Countless dazzling bolts of lightning crisscrossed wildly like silver serpents, lighting up the entire space as bright as day.

This sight was both eerie and strange, yet also carried a breathtaking, awe-inspiring grandeur.

Looking at the bizarre and magnificent scene before him, J couldn't help but feel confused. He frowned tightly and asked, "What's going on here?"

In fact, J's understanding of the Witherzilla wasn't much deeper than D's.

Although he roughly knew some of the most basic information about the Witherzilla and the Execution Dragon, he knew very little about what abilities they actually possessed.

However, J was, after all, a Creator God, and he had perception.

Once he entered this area, he sensed the presence of the Witherzilla.

What's more, he keenly picked up on the fact that the powerful lightning continuously surging within this region seemed to originate from the Witherzilla itself.

Facing J's question, D didn't rush to answer.

He stepped without hesitation into the densely interwoven lightning, went straight up above the Nameless Land, then waved down at J below and shouted loudly.

"These are the Witherzilla's primordial lightning. Don't worry, this lightning won't cause us any harm."

Although the lightning didn't cause D any actual damage, J still had no intention of stepping forward. His heart was filled with hesitation and unease.

He always felt that something wasn't quite right, but he couldn't say exactly what was wrong.

Seeing that J was unwilling to move forward, D helplessly shrugged and began to explain.

"These primordial lightning bolts are actually traces left behind by the Witherzilla when he was searching for the Nameless Land."

"At that time, even he himself didn't know where the Nameless Land was."

"But what's amazing is that the immense power contained within his body seemed to have some special connection with the Nameless Land. They could counterbalance and neutralize each other, causing the Nameless Land, which was originally hidden without a trace, to gradually reveal its true form."

At this point, D pointed to a specific area below and continued, "There, that's the Nameless Land."

After saying this, D let out a long breath as if a great burden had been lifted, then added.

"To be honest, I can't figure out why, even after he entered the Nameless Land, the outer perimeter of this area is still continuously releasing lightning."

"But if you think about it from another angle, maybe this isn't such a bad thing. After all, this lightning symbolizes his power. As long as the lightning is still flashing, it means he's not in mortal danger for now."

However, just as D's words fell, something unexpected happened.

The lightning surrounding the area suddenly decreased sharply, becoming far less dense than before.

Seeing this, D hurriedly slapped his own mouth and said with a face full of self-blame.

"Look at my big mouth!"

As he said this, D looked at J with an earnest expression. "We'd better think of something quickly."

"The Execution Dragon inside the Nameless Land seems to have some kind of terrain buff, making him stronger than the Witherzilla."

"If we're any later, I'm afraid he won't be able to hold on."

Seeing the situation around them, J closed his eyes and sensed for a moment.

The facts proved that D wasn't lying to him. J could indeed sense that the Witherzilla's power had weakened quite a bit compared to when J first arrived.

After seeing this scene, J pondered silently for a long while. Then he flew to D's side and gradually approached the twisted boundary zone formed where the primordial lightning made contact with the Nameless Land.

J stared intently at this strange phenomenon while asking D beside him.

"Judging from the current situation, this kind of spatial distortion is very likely the concrete manifestation of a teleportation portal after it's been activated."

"Since the portal has already been opened, it shouldn't be impossible to enter. Could there be some special restriction?"

As J bent down and reached toward the area below, D's eyes flickered with barely concealed excitement. Still, he forcibly suppressed his emotions and echoed J's words.

"I'm puzzled too. This place can actually restrict me. No matter how I try, I can't step into that place even a single step."

When he heard D's answer, J hesitated briefly, then carefully extended his hand and touched the distorted area.

However, at the very instant his fingers made contact with it, an extremely powerful force suddenly struck his back.

This immense force caused his body to completely lose control. He involuntarily tilted forward, and in the end, his whole body shot forward like an arrow leaving the bow, plunging straight into that twisted region.

At the moment he felt the push from his back, J smiled.

Yes, he smiled.

They say that when a person is speechless, they end up laughing, looks like that really is true.

At the instant that powerful force struck, D's heart was like a calm lake, not a single ripple stirred.

He felt neither shock at the sudden change, nor anger at being attacked, nor sorrow over the possible predicament he might face… At this moment, there was only a deep sense of relief in his heart.

For a long time, J's persistence and attachment to D had been like heavy shackles, binding J's heart.

Yet at this very moment, all the entanglement, pain, and unwillingness vanished into thin air.

He finally understood that no matter how hard he tried, D would never give up hatred for his sake, nor would he change for him.

J wasn't stupid. He knew it clearly in his heart, everything had been wishful thinking.

Once, J had the chance to choose.

Back then, he could have cleanly and decisively let go of this bond. If he had, he wouldn't have ended up losing his life in the real world and being imprisoned in endless void.

But at that time, he chose without hesitation to stand by D's side.

This was undoubtedly a huge sacrifice. Yet from beginning to end, J never received the response he deserved from D.

How could J be willing to accept such an imbalance between what he gave and what he received?

In truth, what J wanted in return was extremely simple. He only hoped that when D faced a choice between friendship and anything else, he would firmly choose the former, nothing more.

Perhaps the D of the past really would have done that. But J knew very well that time passes, things change, and D was no longer the person he once was. Their friendship could never return.

The more unattainable it was, the more he wanted it. And precisely because of this, his persistence toward friendship became an obsession he could never obtain.

In fact, D had never deceived J. The one who deceived J all along was himself.

He was unwilling to wake up, unwilling to face a reality he couldn't accept.

If D had kept pretending, J would have remained trapped in the lies he had fabricated for himself, unwilling to wake.

Fortunately, D couldn't keep pretending anymore. He finally reached out and gave J a push.

And that push completely woke J up.
