Martin moved without hesitation, his fingers deftly releasing the handcuffs from Jayden's wrists. She rubbed her raw skin, her eyes darting between the officers and me under my control. The air in the room was thick with tension, her breath still uneven from the horror she'd just witnessed.
I stepped closer, my voice low and deliberate. "Now, go bring Arturo, Lorena, and Lorena's mother here. I want to see them."
Jayden's eyes widened, her body tensing as if she were about to bolt. I didn't give her the chance. "Don't think about playing any tricks," I warned, my tone leaving no room for doubt. "Otherwise, you'll bear the consequences."
She swallowed hard, her throat bobbing as she nodded, her fear palpable. "Y-yes," she stuttered.
