Chase waited patiently, laying in the comfort of his own tent.
Eventually he heard the sound of snow crunching under light feet outside of his tent.
Chase prepared his dagger and sat lazily against the furthest side of the tent's entrance.
Yawning with a look of boredom on his unstrained face, he watched as the zipper of the entrance gently lifted from bottom towards top.
A boy around Chase's age crouched into the tent, almost as if not noticing the person he came to hunt-had shifted the narrative.
He studied the intruder, watching as a look of fiery determination burning in his bright blue eyes.
Chase made sure to remember that he had taken this boy's life, and robbed him of his chance at life.
"It's kill or be killed in this world... Isn't it?" Chase asked casually with his own indifferent expression.
The boy jumped back, unsheathing his own dagger out of sheer panic.
"You? How did you know?" He whispered a stifled yell-lifting his dagger's tip towards Chase.
"Ya know: It really makes me even feel worst when you show me that the kid I kill doesn't even know how to use a blade..." He shrugged, showing no fear to the armed intruder.
They then had what was a terrible excuse for a fight, since it had been ended before any blows were struck.
The kid had been stabbed in the stomach by Chase, right where it would take a few moments for him to bleed out, but where he would also still remain conscious for those few moments.
Chase sat down next to the dying soldier, crossing his legs and outstretching his arms with another yawn.
The boy had an accepting look on his face-although a mask to hide the true fear behind the boy's eyes.
"Courage is just a mask at the end of it all. You aren't sane if dying doesn't fear you..." Chase said with eeriness in his casualness.
"You are a seer..." The boy assumed shakily, while his vision pointed at the peak of the tent.
"Got anything you want me to remember? Any reasonable requests since I have stripped you of your life...?" Chase asked, with guilt hidden in every syllable of his speech.
Without any hesitation... The boy spoke with honesty.
"I wish too see the stars..."
Chase dragged the boy out of the tent with swiftness, uncovering the entire wonderous night sky sneaking through the peaks of the tall winter trees within The Frozen Forest...
Events continued to unfold, and Chase-for the most part-did everything in similar fashion-not trying to stray too far from the truth of his memories.
However, he was a selfish guy, and would still break through the dream's honesty in order to appease the guilt of his past mistakes and numb the ever echoing pain of his origins.
Hence why he had asked Someone too meet in a very specific spot, watching over the entire campgrounds that had been built within the snowy plains outside of Frostfang...
They stood about 8 meters apart, both leaning against opposite sides of the stone half wall.
"Summer..."
"Chase..."
They spoke each other's name at the exact same time, bringing forth an air of awkwardness.
Chase took lead-mainly because he already knew what the girl was going too say.
"I think it's best if you return too your family..." He suggested honestly, curious just to see what her response would be. But it would be a lie if he said that he did not want to save her... That was exactly what was so selfish about his actions. There was no point in not trying.
There was silence, and Chase had little doubt that she would abandon her friends.
When he looked up at her, she was sadly staring across the veil of night that covered the campgrounds.
Her eyes were like crystals found within a cave full of glistening water, and her sad smile was burning a hole straight through Chase's heart.
"I seen something as well..." She eventually informed him with a soft solemn voice.
She turned toward him, looking him in the eyes and taking a deep breath.
Chase awaited, turning his head as a strange maturity on his face seemed to be far too obvious.
He realized his flaw... She had been able to tell that something was different... That he was not supposed too be here.
"When you saved me with your brilliant flames... I foresaw a vision... I walked within a beautiful throne room of crimson, green, and black lavishes. I met a woman with the most beautiful shade of ivory hair, and a hallway..."
Chase could not believe what she was saying, and how she had hidden this in the original memory.
She closed the distance between them, lifting a hand, as she let it fall upon his frozen right cheek.
Chase felt a lump in his throat as he stared into the eyes of a dead girl.
She smiled softly and spoke. "In that hallway... Lie countless powerful and loyal soldiers who followed you into hell... I seen that they are forever remembered and honored... Chase... You will do great things... Do not let the false guilt of someone else's choices bring you regret... I chose this team for a reason."
She only smiled as a crystal tear flowed down the skin of Chase's face.
"I'm sorry..." He sobbed, squinting his eyes in mental agony.
"You did your best." She said softly, stroking the tears away with her thumb.
"I have something for you." She reached in her pocket, dismissing the contact with Chase-allowing him to gather himself.
Chase's eyebrow cocked as he looked at the glowing pedal within her small hand.
"It is a powerful flower that grows within the caverns underneath the mountains. I believe that if you mix it with Mental Energy it becomes a cure too many illnesses. In fact, I am positive it could cure the abstract forms of magical rot!" She exclaimed proudly-holding out the flower for Chase to let drop into his own palm.
"Why...?" He asked, still in belief that the thing he had been searching for had remained within his possession all that time...
"I- I don't believe I'll be able to finish my research on it... But I do believe that you can. Chase you undervalue yourself so much... You always sell yourself short... Be proud. Not many can call themselves an heir..." She winked, and turned away.
The next time Chase intervened was not what would forever be a pleasant but sad memory.
No-this one was much more... Unforgiven...
Chase walked with a limp through the burning streets of Equus... Letting his vision wander upon the countless bodies that lined the streets filled with flame and fire.
He had committed an unreversible intervention as he had completely ignored his confrontation with Rider as a whole...
Luna continued to pester him in the back of Chase's mind, warning him that it's not too late.
Yet Chase continued too stare in conflict at the terrible reminder of his burning home in Willowmere...
He had orchestrated the same event that had brought him here... Never ending this cycle of despair.
"WAKE UP!!" Michael violently shook Chase's shoulders-causing him to thrash back and break the grip of the child of Everfrost.
"What the hell was going on? I thought you were dying!" He panted heavily, resting his hands on his knees.
Chase sat up in his tent. Looking around in confusion.
"Michael... What? Where are we?" Chase asked with panic rising in his voice before a surge of memories shot through his mind.
"What the hell are you talking about? We just left those ruins yesterday, and we aint find jack-"
"Olympia?" Chase shot up, grabbing his gear as he adjusted the mask on his face.
"Ya, but It's four in the morning, what in the world are you doing dude?!" Michael was completely confused by Chase's rabid behavior, and awkwardly avoiding his friend gathering all of the things of his scattered around the tent's interior.
"We have to go back. Underneath! There is a dungeon... Gather everyone, we have to go now." Chase demanded, with an unfamiliar amount of determination and sureness in his own tone.
"Umm ok! I'll wake everyone up." Michael nodded, flashing a grin at Chase-before bolting out of the room and yelling at the nearest tent.
Chase turned, staring at the small plastic window at the back of his tent....
"So the dream is finally over..."
