Chapter 307 - The Grand Adventure Awaits... Part 1

Chase stood outside of the small tavern that they had taken refuge within for the past two weeks.

He leaned against the wooden support beam as the smell of cider and pumpkins pervaded the air, as Chase took in the wonderful sight of the meadowlands.

The group did not necessarily have a time limit for this "Mission" but they had received an anonymous tip stating: That treasure beyond our human imagination lies within the ruins of Olympia.

Needing a way to gain money for his kingdom, as well as having to hide among thieves and beggars the last few months, out of the fear of Star of House Aries... And no matter what outcome Chase could attempt at planning, none of them worked. As well as the notes he had jotted up with countless ideas and theories that could possibly save his life.

From what he had heard: Star of House Aries is the superior child of only the strongest House in Vallmora, clearly bearing the sigil of House Aries, meaning that technically...

'She is considered an heir as well...' He thought aloud, as the scales of his inner mask scraped against his dried lips.

"Yo!" Equan called out with a yawn as he lazily shoved the door aside.

Chase turned his head, acknowledging his friend through the neon green eyeholes of his mask. Before turning his head back in the direction of a small shop on the other side of the block.

"What does that place sell?" Chase asked out of curiosity, adjusting what was left of the silver fur coat-now only acting a small hood for his left shoulder, Draping over it and lazily flapping with the wind.

"That thing has seen better days..." Equan chuckled, eyeing the fur coat that Chase had worn during the Retaking of Phoenix Academy, as well as the siege on Equus...

The once white fur was charred black along its ragged edges, with several large tears along its leather base.

Yet, Chase had continued to wear it over his specially crafted armor. For him, the stupid rag of fur had more so become a luck charm, than it was a decretive way to display ones status.

"You good? We're having a round of drinks before we head out. There is some bard who specializes in violin that plays some pretty banging toons." Equan explained with a giddy expression on his face. However, while Equan may not have felt such a detachment of reality, he had clearly noticed Chase's neon green eyes flicker for a second, while a rigid shock that had physically ran through his body, jolted his muscles with a violent tremor.

"Sup?" Equan asked with worry leaking into his tone.

Chase shook his head, cursed mentally, and smacked Equan on the shoulder.

He had already began towards the tavern and dismissed the weird episode the moment that it had passed.

Equan tilted his head.

"I'm good, just smelled fire. But ya know, that's kinda like my thing, let's go see what everybody is doing!" Chase assured, pushing the door open with his back against the wooden surface, and a grin hiding behind the masked that gazed lifelessly into the blue eyes of the young archer.

The entire scene shifted as Chase's spun around, revealing what looked like some sort of magic mushroom trip.

Violet and Blue magic orbs flashed violently as probably fifty different adventures threw their heads and bodies along with the explosive music in some pitiful attempt at dancing.

Chase's vision strained as he tried to spot anyone of his friends within the crowd.

Feeling his heart pound against his ribcage, he turned his head hoping to ask Equan where they could find Michael and Gabriel; however, the talented archer was nowhere to be seen, as several bulky adventurers traded blows with identical pairs of brass knuckles.

THUMP

THUMP

The music finally reached a pinnacle, as a violent riff of electric melody synced perfectly with the drum within his chest.

He lowered his head, grabbing the back of his head.

Pain shot through his body as his Energy Veins threated to rip themselves apart.

Chase's head shot up, his eyes piercing through the small gaps within the annoying amount of people, until he spotted a slim teenage boy surging literal energy into his powerful instrument.

'A lumen...' Chase's scattered thoughts finally making sense of what was happening to him.

Chase began to charge Axis energy into the back of his heel as he lowered his stance.

'I can't take any more of this gods damned noise...'

Just before he launched himself through the crowd of raving adventurers in hopes of stopping the overflowing of energy entering his catalyst and mind...

He spotted a figure within the crowd.

A dark hooded figure with shimmering skin sparkling underneath the cloth of his cloak.

Their eyes met.

Music blasting, heroes and criminals alike dancing and partying in the middle of the day, as well as being surrounded by his friend- No, his family.

White eyes resembling the texture of feathers, but with a glowing light beneath the surface of them.

The words 'For all of Eternity' echoed throughout the already damaged walls of his mind, as the figure vanished among the countless men and women.
