Hearing the crazed command from his boss, the commander grit his teeth, and commanded his men to attack. The stunned men quickly regained focus and opened fire upon the group flying above them.
Mounted turrets, were quickly set up and were fired at the flying group as well.
Without dodging, the group allowed the rain of bullets to pelt them but they had no effect.
"Split up!" Samuel instructed as the team broke into groups and shot off in different directions. The twins, using their lightening speed, joined the brothers to infiltrate the rest of the building to rescue the captured meta humans while Delgato and Dr. Michelson aimed for the control room to collect all the institute's off grid accumulated research data.
The remaining members met the soldiers in direct combat, aiming to wipe them out completely.
The battle between the two opposing groups was immensely one-sided. With the Guardians' battle suits on, the specially made anti-meta bullets were rendered useless as they bounced off of them, ricocheting all over the place, and incapacitating the very soldiers themselves.
In order to keep from killing them out rightly, the Guardians kept their attacks to non-lethal levels; restricting themselves to at most, amputations when necessary. They left half dead corpses in their wake as the battle progressed.
The watching world was shocked by the ease through which the Guardians plowed through the soldiers. Some countries started conceiving plans on how such power could be conscripted into their forces.
Leaving Evangeline for last, Samuel and his comrades made her watch as all her men, outfitted with the latest in anti-meta weaponry, were decimated. She crumpled to the ground in terror, still refusing to denounce the absolute supremacy of regular humans.
It took only a few minutes for the thousands of soldiers present to be routed. They lay, sprawled out on the ground, some groaning in pain, some unconscious from too much pain and others dead due to being hit by their own fired bullets.

As the battle progressed above, the twins and the brothers quickly located the cell containing all the captured Metas. It appeared that they had been quickly moved here immediately the attack started.
Even with their salvation right before them, their faces showed people who had long given up hope on ever being rescued or at least, given a brief respite.
Sylvia stepped forward towards a little girl to examine her condition. Turning her over, she noticed a blinking electronic implant stuck to the back of her neck, at the base of the skull. "Hey you guys…come check this out", she called out to the boys.
The brothers and Sylvester approached and took a look at what she was indicating. "Is this new…I don't remember both of you having this", she enquired.
"I believe it is but I have no idea what purpose it serves. It is unlike the tracking implant that we had before", Thomas answered.
"Lisia…please identify the object", Sylvia requested holding up her arm with her device attached.
"ACKNOWLEDGED! SCANNING!" Lisia responded as a beam of light emerged from Sylvia's device and scanned the implant.
"NOTICE! THE DEVICE HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AS A PROXIMITY TRIGGERED EXPLOSIVE! IT WORKS BY TRACKING THE MOVEMENT OF THE INDIVIDUAL AND EXPLODING ONCE THE INDIVIDUAL IS A CERTAIN DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SENSOR DETONATOR!" Lisia reported.
"How awful. What kind of monsters would do such a thing to fellow human beings?" Sylvia asked in an angry tone.
"They must have implanted them after my brother and I successfully escaped captivity. This way, no more of their precious specimen would willingly try to escape ever again!!" Edward commented in rage.
"Lisia, how do we remove the implants without harming the subjects", Sylvester asked.
"NOTICE! PLEASE INITIATE AN EMP SURGE! THIS WILL DEACTIVATE THE DEVICES LONG ENOUGH FOR SAFE EXTRACTION!" Lisia instructed.
Sylvia quickly contacted Delgato to inform him of the current situation and the action they were about to take. Receiving the go-ahead, she and her brother got ready.
They both faced each other and held out their hands, shooting lightning at a single point between them and building up the charge.
Once the charge went past critical levels, they slammed their fists into it, causing it to explode; the EMP blast wave spreading out throughout the entire complex.
With the power knocked out, the group, with surgical precision, quickly removed the implants from the necks of all the Metas and helped them up the stairs towards the battle field.

With the battle finally over, Evangeline, her assistant and the commander all sat on the floor, panic plastered on their faces as the eyes of monsters bore down on them. Delgato and Dr. Michelson soon returned after acquiring all the institute's off grid data.
"Let's wrap things up. My contact would be here soon", Dr. Michelson said as they approached. Soon after that, the twins and the brothers came up as well accompanied by a total of twenty people wrapped in blankets to protect them from the cold.
Samuel then turned towards the multiple drones that were broadcasting the entire event.
"Our work here is done. For all those out there in bed with these lowlifes, know this...we already know who and where you all are. There is no hiding from us. This is your one and only chance to get back on the right path and make up for your actions".
"Stop hunting and imprisoning the Meta humans. If you fall in the sight of the Guardians, you shall be wiped out just as easily. You have been warned!!" he declared as the broadcast quickly cut off.
Just as the broadcast ended, several hundred military transport helicopters appeared over the horizon, making their way towards them. Once there, the several hundred military personnel stormed into the institute and captured each and every person working for the institute.
They provided transport for the rescued Metas and transported them to a safe location for recuperation and medical aid before they were sent home.
Evangeline tried to resist as she was hauled of in shackles, her assistant and commander following quietly behind her in shackles of their own. When they got to the transport, they were shocked to see a paralyzed Chen Yũxuãn and his men also in shackles; with a terror-stricken face, mumbling some incoherent words.
"No matter what you do, in the end, us humans would always reign supreme above all you inferior creatures!!" Evangeline turned and shouted to the group only to be shoved violently into the chopper.
"Good riddance! I hope they rot behind bars" Sylvia said as the chopper took off.
"Let's get out of here!" Samuel said to the group and they nodded in agreement.
"Alright Commander…we'll leave the rest to you", Dr. Michelson said to the soldier in charge of the operation, who saluted back in acknowledgement.
Taking a few steps forward, Samuel transformed back into his huge dragon form, roaring loudly and stunning the soldiers; even though they were already made aware of his power. It seems seeing really is believing.
The rest of the Guardians flew onto his back and with a few flaps of his sky covering wings, they were already high up in the sky, tearing through the clouds at sub sonic speeds; heading back to their home base.
