John felt that the most powerful move he'd ever seen in his life was probably Infinite Savage Form.
+4 priority, guaranteed to hit, and guaranteed critical hits. All three effects stacked together.
What other move could possibly compare with it!
Maybe even Dragon Ascent wasn't as strong as Infinite Savage Form.
However, John kept reading and soon spotted the weakness of Infinite Savage Form.
After using the move, both the user and its substitutes would continue to be in a "rampage" state that couldn't be removed and wouldn't stop until they lost the ability to fight.
"Whew~" John could understand why Infinite Savage Form was so ridiculously powerful.
It turned out this move could only be used as a final "mutual destruction" technique with your opponent.
Even so, in reality, Infinite Savage Form could still be compared to Dragon Ascent.
After all, that was a legendary Pokemon's signature move.
"I'll level you up when we get back," John decided, taking out a Pokeball to recall his Savage Strike Urshifu, who was still in a rampage state and continuing to attack randomly.
With the main body's return, all the substitutes exploded.
"What name have you decided to give the style your Urshifu created?" Mustard asked.
"Savage Strike Style," John replied. He thought the name "Savage Strike Style" was perfect.
Don't use Infinite Savage Form too recklessly in actual combat though.
"Good choice." Mustard nodded. The name fit perfectly with the Urshifu's performance just now.
"After some time, I'll train a new Kubfu. Remember to have your Urshifu help teach it."
"No problem." John agreed immediately. Even though their styles were different, Mustard still had experience raising Urshifu. John didn't mind spending more time learning from him.
"By the way, Master, I have another question," John suddenly asked.
"Go ahead."
"Since the Dark Scroll and Water Scroll are martial arts manuals, does that mean they can also be shown to other Pokemon?"
"Of course," Mustard nodded.
"Then can they also learn exclusive moves?"
Mustard frowned and thought carefully for a while, then replied, "Yes, but very rarely, because the requirements are extremely high. Not only do they need fighting talent, but their own type and fighting style must also match."
"As long as their types don't conflict, they have a humanoid body shape, and excellent talent, it's possible to comprehend something."
"Look at the Towers of Two Fists, most of the Pokemon there are like Machamp, Hariyama, and Lucario."
John rubbed his chin. With those requirements, a lot of Pokemon would indeed be filtered out.
But among all the Pokemon he owned, quite a few met these criteria.
John immediately took out several Pokeballs and released them.
Greninja, Zeraora, Blaziken, Slakoth, Garchomp, and Hariyama all appeared.
"Come on, take a good look at these two scrolls and see if you can learn anything."
The six Pokemon John sent out were all humanoid and used close-combat fighting styles.
Well, Garchomp could barely be considered humanoid, at least it stood upright. John wanted to try his luck too. If even one or two Pokemon among these six could understand an exclusive move, he'd be thrilled.
The six Pokemon ran over to examine the Dark Scroll and Water Scroll.
John didn't know whether they could understand them or not. At least as a human, he couldn't make heads or tails of them. But since Kubfu could understand the scrolls, it definitely wasn't a problem with the writing.
Just as John thought, the Pokemon seemed able to understand the text that John couldn't read.
And soon, they began trying out moves based on their martial arts insights.
Just like Kubfu had done before.
John waited about three or four minutes.
Good news came pouring in.
[Greninja reads "Dark Scroll" and learns the move: Dark Slash]
[Blaziken reads "Dark Scroll" and learns the move: Shadow Kick]
[Slakoth reads "Dark Scroll" and learns the move: Malicious Focus]
[Zeraora reads "Water Scroll" and learns the move: Plasma Storm Strike]
[Greninja reads "Water Scroll" and learns the move: Mist Blade Barrage]
A total of five moves were mastered, with Greninja learning two moves. This made sense, it had both Water and Dark types, making it naturally more compatible with both scrolls.
Even Slakoth's move Malicious Focus was impressive, it put the user into a state where attacks "always hit critical points" for a period of time.
Mustard wanted to curse. Why couldn't many of his Pokemon understand these scrolls like this?
John smiled and nodded.
Learning five exclusive moves at once had greatly exceeded his expectations, he couldn't be greedy for more.
No wonder that even when different Kubfu learned from the scrolls, the moves were always Wicked Blow and Surging Strikes. Even if there were small variations, they probably weren't significant. Other trainers couldn't see Pokemon like John could, their status screens would naturally use the move names left by predecessors.
Moves learned through the Dark Scroll had to be Dark-type moves with the effect of "always hits critical points."
John carefully looked through these exclusive moves he'd just learned.
In the future, if he caught any new Pokemon, he could also have them study the scrolls and learn corresponding type moves.
"What's going on here?" Mustard muttered while treating his defeated Urshifu. They were both getting old, if they didn't take care of themselves after battle, their combat effectiveness would decline rapidly as they aged, not to mention hidden injuries.
Garchomp and Hariyama hadn't learned anything yet, but John wasn't worried. He let them continue reading, maybe they'd eventually understand something. Even if they couldn't, it didn't matter.
"Isn't there still your Single Strike Urshifu?"
"How about we test some more moves?" John asked somewhat sheepishly.
Moves learned through the Water Scroll had to be Water-type moves. Besides having a "guaranteed hit" effect, they were often multi-hit combinations.
From this, John could conclude that the corresponding martial arts knowledge in the two scrolls was actually "Dark-type moves that always hit critical points" and "Water-type moves that always hit with multiple attacks."
Thinking that this was John's own student who could now beat him up, Mustard didn't curse in the end, just shook his head. "No way, the injuries my Urshifu suffered will take a long time to heal."
Perfect timing, while Garchomp and Hariyama were studying the scrolls, John could test the exclusive moves he'd just learned.
"Master," John looked at Mustard.
Mustard's eyelid twitched. "Have your Pokemon already learned moves just from looking at the scrolls?"
