Su Province, Ning Wan City First People's Hospital.

In Room 1207 of the Hematology and Oncology Department, several girls were gathered around the bed, talking to Meng Meng.

Meng Meng, wearing a hospital gown, looked a bit pale but was in good spirits, chatting and laughing with her three classmates and friends, showing no signs of serious illness.

However, the medical record hanging on the bed frame clearly marked "AL" in bold black letters.

AL, the abbreviation for Acute Leukemia is a malignant clonal diseases of hematopoietic stem cells that were once incurable, but with the advancement of technology, there are now multiple treatment methods for acute leukemia, with bone marrow transplantation being the most effective, offering a high cure rate.

However, the cost of treatment is astonishingly high.

Meng Meng's mother, Zhang Fang, sat on a chair not far from the bed. Although she had a smile on her face, there was an unmistakable sadness in her eyes, clearly forcing herself to appear cheerful.

What worried Zhang Fang the most was the cost of Meng Meng's treatment. Even if she were to sell everything she owned, combined with the donations from Meng Meng's school and classmates, it would still be a drop in the bucket compared to the enormous medical expenses.

But to avoid upsetting her daughter, she never dared to show her true feelings.

Tap! Tap!

The door of the ward was gently knocked, and someone pushed it open.

The visitors were a man and a woman. The man was tall and wore a mask, revealing only his eyes.

The woman asked softly, "Excuse me, is Meng Meng here?" The man asked while holding a fruit basket.

"You're looking for Meng Meng?" Zhang Fang was momentarily stunned, then quickly stood up and said, "Yes, may I ask who you are?"

The visitors were strangers, and Zhang Fang couldn't recall anyone matching their description. Could they be friends of Meng Meng's?

However, Meng Meng and the other girls also looked at the newcomers with curiosity.

They didn't recognize them either.

The woman said, "Hello, Auntie, we're here to visit Meng Meng."

The man walked to the front of Meng Meng's bed, placed the fruit basket down, and then removed his mask.

"Meng Meng, hello."

Seeing the man's face, Meng Meng's eyes widened in shock, her round face filled with disbelief. She covered her mouth with her hand, completely stunned.

The three girls sitting by the bed were also dumbfounded!

One of them, wearing a green dress, exclaimed excitedly, "Lu Chen!"

"It's me."

Lu Chen smiled, "It's me, hello everyone."

The visitors were indeed Lu Chen and Lu Xi. The two had taken a high-speed train from Hangzhou to Ning Wan and had come directly to the First People's Hospital without stopping to eat.

Meng Meng blinked, and large tears began to fall.

She wasn't sad; she was just too happy and surprised! Lu Chen sat down on the edge of the bed and said, "I received an email last night and found out you were sick. Since I was performing in Hangzhou, I decided to come and see you. How are you feeling now?"

Meng Meng nodded vigorously, then suddenly opened her arms and hugged Lu Chen tightly, "Brother Lu Chen!"

Lu Chen let her hug him, gently patting her back a couple of times to comfort her.

Finally, Zhang Fang understood that the visitors were her daughter's idols.

Lu Chen!

This name was very familiar to Zhang Fang; her daughter often mentioned him and had just been talking about him with her classmates!

This was a big star!

Zhang Fang became flustered, quickly pulling over a chair and saying, "Please, have a seat."

Lu Xi stopped her, "Auntie, don't trouble yourself. I have something I'd like to discuss with you, if that's okay?"

Zhang Fang nodded repeatedly, "Of course, of course!"

Meanwhile, Meng Meng hugged Lu Chen for more than half a minute before finally letting go, her face red.

She asked, "Brother Lu Chen, who sent you the email?"

This was what Meng Meng was most curious about.

Lu Chen thought for a moment and said, "She said she was your classmate, with the ID 'Rain Elf.'"

Meng Meng and the other two girls immediately turned to look at the girl in the green dress, who lowered her head and raised her hand, timidly admitting, "It was me. I sent the email to Brother Lu Chen."

She looked up at Lu Chen, her eyes shining, "I didn't expect Brother Lu Chen to actually come."

This was what moved the girl in the green dress the most; she had only sent the plea for help last night.

Meng Meng chided her, "Xiao Yu, you shouldn't have kept this from us. Aren't we best friends?"

The girl in the green dress looked pained as she spoke, "Meng Meng, I know I was wrong."

Lu Chen couldn't help but laugh.

These girls, aged 18-19, were at the most beautiful stage of their lives.

He became even more determined to help Meng Meng!

One of the girls said excitedly, "I think Xiao Yu did a great thing. Otherwise, how could we have met Brother Lu Chen in person? Quick, let's take a group photo!"

Meng Meng smiled, "Then take a photo of me and Brother Lu Chen first."

This small request was something Lu Chen was more than happy to fulfill, and he took several photos with the four girls.

He also snapped a few pictures with his own phone.

After the photoshoot, Lu Chen inquired about Meng Meng's condition.

Meng Meng explained that her illness was currently under control, and she was undergoing conservative treatment. To truly recover, she would need multiple rounds of chemotherapy or a bone marrow transplant.

Mentioning this brought a hint of worry to Meng Meng's face.

Lu Chen reassured her, "Meng Meng, you don't need to worry. We will all help you with any difficulties. Right now, your job is to cooperate with the doctors and focus on your treatment, okay?"

Meng Meng nodded, "Okay, Brother Lu Chen, I'm really happy you came to see me."

Lu Chen smiled.

At that moment, the door to the ward was pushed open again, and an elderly woman entered, holding the hand of a small child around three or four years old. The elderly woman was also carrying an IV drip.

The needle was inserted into the little patient's wrist, and he looked at Lu Chen with big, curious eyes before climbing onto the adjacent bed.

Seeing the elderly woman struggling with the IV, Lu Chen quickly got up to help her hang it on the bed's hook.

The elderly woman expressed her gratitude, "Thank you."

The little boy asked, "Sister Meng Meng, who is he?"

The little boy had big eyes and a large head, but his hair was completely shaved, making him look like a clever little monk.

Meng Meng smiled, "This is my idol, Brother Lu Chen!"

The little boy asked, "What does idol mean?"

Meng Meng answered seriously, "It means the person I admire and like the most!"

The little boy seemed to understand a bit, "Uh."

Lu Chen found him adorable and couldn't help but reach out to pat his head, "How old are you?"

The little boy replied obediently, "Cheng Cheng is four years old."

Lu Chen glanced at his medical record and discovered that his condition was exactly the same as Meng Meng's.

Meng Meng clearly liked this little boy, as she pulled a big red apple from the fruit basket and handed it to him.

Seeing such a young child in this situation made Lu Chen sigh inwardly.

He could tell that this little patient's family was also struggling; the elderly woman was dressed very simply.

Like Meng Meng, they probably couldn't afford the treatment costs.

There are so many people in the world who need help, and Lu Chen felt increasingly aware of the limitations of individual power.

Having experienced family upheaval and despair, and having struggled for a living, he could deeply understand the pain and sorrow ordinary families face in times of crisis.

Now that Lu Chen had overcome his difficulties and achieved his dreams, he was willing to use his strength to help others.

Starting with Meng Meng!

After a few minutes, Lu Xi and Meng Meng's mother, Zhang Fang, returned.

Zhang Fang still had traces of tears in her eyes.

Lu Xi nodded at Lu Chen, and Lu Chen said to Meng Meng, "Meng Meng, I have to go now. You need to focus on your treatment here. If you need anything, you can call me."

He left his personal phone number with Meng Meng.

Meng Meng was reluctant to part, but she was very understanding and didn't want to make Lu Chen uncomfortable: "Okay, goodbye, Brother Lu Chen."

The other girls also reluctantly said, "Goodbye, Brother Lu Chen!"

"Goodbye."

Lu Chen smiled and said to Zhang Fang, "Goodbye, Auntie."

"Thank you!"

Tears welled up in Zhang Fang's eyes again as she excitedly said, "Thank you both!"

Earlier, Lu Xi had privately inquired about Meng Meng's treatment situation and had given her 10,000 Yuan.

Most importantly, Lu Xi, on behalf of Lu Chen, promised to find a way to help raise funds for Meng Meng's treatment.

Zhang Fang was incredibly grateful.

The relationship between Lu Chen and Meng Meng was originally just that of a typical star and fan; Lu Chen had no obligation to help Meng Meng, nor did he need to make such a promise.

Yet he not only came but also brought money and hope!

What Zhang Fang needed most right now was that kind of hope.

After visiting Meng Meng, Lu Chen and Lu Xi did not leave the First People's Hospital immediately. Instead, they found the attending physician through the on-duty nurse to inquire about the treatment costs.

The hospital staff informed them that for a case like Meng Meng's, a bone marrow transplant was necessary, and the total treatment cost would be around 1 Million Yuan.

The problem was that such severe illnesses were not covered by regular health insurance, and Meng Meng had not purchased the corresponding major illness insurance, so the reimbursable portion was very limited.

Moreover, there were several other patients in the First People's Hospital with conditions similar to Meng Meng's .

After leaving the People's Hospital, Lu Chen and Lu Xi did not stay overnight in Ning Wan but took the evening high-speed train back to Capital City.

The next morning, Lu Chen went to the Mu-Chen Crowdfunding Company located on the upper floor of the Workshop building, where he found Li Mushi.

After careful consideration, he decided to use crowdfunding to address Meng Meng's medical expenses.

Now that Lu Chen was no longer the chairman of Mu-Chen Crowdfunding, he needed to discuss this matter with Li Mushi and gain his approval.

Upon hearing Lu Chen's intentions, Li Mushi did not hesitate at all: "No problem!"

"We can arrange for the project to go live today."

"Moreover, for this charitable crowdfunding, our Mu-Chen Crowdfunding will not charge a single cent in commission!"
