Chapter 303 - Chapter 303: Chaos in Metropolis

"Be careful, get out of the way!"

At that moment, Superman, his red cape billowing in the chaos, shouted at the top of his lungs. Shin blinked in surprise before realizing that the warning was meant for him.

'Huh? He's talking to me?'

He quickly scanned his surroundings. The entire area was littered with debris, buildings reduced to rubble, and countless bodies of unfortunate civilians who had been caught in the collateral damage. The sheer force from the ongoing battle had already claimed dozens of lives, and if it weren't for his abilities, Shin would have been vaporized along with them.

Of course, Shin found the situation a little ironic. He himself had told people to get out of the way during his own battles in the past. Now, hearing the same words from Superman, he felt an odd sense of déjà vu.

Before he could react, Doomsday grabbed Superman and hurled him like a missile, sending the Man of Steel crashing through multiple skyscrapers.

Then, in the blink of an eye, Doomsday turned into a black blur and disappeared from Shin's view.

Shin sighed. "I really should practice Observation Haki more, maybe even refine it to the point of foreseeing the future. At least then, I wouldn't have to stay in my Kamui phase the entire time just to avoid getting obliterated."

With that thought, Shin's body shifted from an intangible state back to a solid form. Then, in an instant, he burst into the air like a streak of lightning.

"Doomsday can't fly... yet. The sky is the safest place for now."

From this vantage point, Shin could finally grasp the true scale of the destruction below. Superman and Doomsday were moving at speeds that made them almost invisible to the naked eye. Wherever they clashed, entire city blocks crumbled, leaving behind nothing but devastation. The storm-like shockwaves from their movements alone were enough to send cars flying and reduce weaker buildings to dust.

Using his Observation Haki, Shin managed to track the general flow of the battle. Though Superman was holding his own, it was clear that he was also holding back—trying to minimize damage to the city. Meanwhile, Doomsday had no such reservations. He deliberately targeted crowded areas, forcing Superman to intercept him again and again, dragging him away from civilians.

The result was a metropolis in complete ruin, with screaming citizens running for their lives amidst the wreckage.

"Well, peace comes at a cost, I suppose. This is the price of having a protector like Superman," Shin muttered, watching the chaos unfold.

Then, his attention turned to the sky.

A sleek black jet was hovering above the battlefield.

"Ah, there he is. The Dark Knight."

Shin smirked. "Of course, the Batman isn't stupid enough to charge into the middle of this mess. If he had, he'd be splattered across the pavement in under a second."

Indeed, with the speed at which Superman and Doomsday were moving, any normal human trying to interfere would likely get obliterated before they even realized what hit them.

"Still, if Batman is here, then that means..." Shin's eyes narrowed. "Ah, yes. The Kryptonite spear. That should be his trump card."

Unfortunately, Doomsday wasn't Superman. Unlike the Man of Steel, Doomsday wouldn't hesitate to turn Batman into a paste before he ever got the chance to use his weapon. The mere force of Doomsday's movements could shred a human apart, making Batman's usual strategy of sneaking around completely useless.

'That's why Batman only picks fights with Superman,' Shin thought. 'Because Superman holds back.'

Then, a flicker of movement caught his eye. A jet-black armored figure was moving inside the Batwing.

Smirking, Shin teleported straight into the cockpit.

"Who?!" Batman growled, instantly launching into a counterattack.

Shin casually swatted the Dark Knight's strike aside, forcing Batman to take a few steps back. To his credit, he recovered quickly, but the difference in power was obvious.

"Who are you?" Batman demanded in his signature gravelly voice.

Shin rolled his eyes. "Really? You're seriously asking me that? Look around you, Bats. Your city is being torn apart. Is now really the time for introductions?"

Batman's expression was unreadable behind his mask, but his silence spoke volumes. He was assessing the situation, and calculating his options.

"Fine," he finally said. "Do you have a plan?"

Shin chuckled. "What, you think I just dropped in to chat? The answer is simple. You don't have the speed to hit Doomsday, and even if you did, he'd crush you before you could react. You need a way to immobilize him first."

Batman frowned. "I was planning to use the Batwing's fire control system to bombard him from a distance, then lure him out of the city."

Shin shook his head. "Good luck with that. Doomsday is getting stronger by the second. The longer this drags on, the harder it'll be to stop him. And let's not forget—soon enough, he'll figure out how to fly."

Batman's jaw tightened. "Then what do you suggest?"

Shin stepped toward the edge of the cockpit. "Let me handle the long-range bombardment. You focus on positioning the Kryptonite spear."

Without waiting for a response, Shin phased through the Batwing and landed atop it.

A surge of electricity crackled around his body before shooting forward in a blinding arc. Unlike regular attacks, lightning had the advantage of speed. Coupled with his electromagnetic field targeting, Shin ensured that the attack would hit Doomsday no matter how fast he moved.

As the battlefield below erupted in a storm of flashing lights, Shin smirked.

"Let's see how you handle this, monster."
