The Nocturnal headquarters had a refugee building specifically used to shelter supernatural beings in need of help, even Charlotte could have taken refuge there if she had nowhere else to go when she was running from Julian.
But unfortunately, Julian would've been able to find her far too easily, so hiding in the refugee had never crossed Charlotte's mind.
"This is where we're currently keeping the children," said Nara Brown, a staff member from the Order, as she guided them toward the building behind the main hall.
Charlotte lifted her head and looked at the four-story building just a few meters ahead of her.
The walls were dominated by white, but the green vines curling down from the balcony railings brought a bit of life to the place.
"This building has fifty rooms," Nara explained with a gentle smile. "So housing seventeen children isn't really a big deal. Besides …"
Damon glanced at her when she didn't finish her sentence. "Besides what?" he asked.
