Before ascending the throne of King Yanluo, Wei Yue was revered as the Young Master of the Immortal City, although he was not young; in fact, he was nearly the same age as Granny Sha. His father, Wei Ling, was a Judge in the Underworld. After the great Lord of Heaven disappeared, Wei Ling took control of the Immortal City, and Wei Yue was thus respected as the Young Master of the Immortal City.
Wei Ling was a Ghost God, and Wei Yue also inherited part of the ghostly physique, granting him a much longer lifespan than others, making him still appear quite young.
