Chapter 218 - Chapter 217: Major Renovations

The night passed in silence.

With the morning sun rising, Tsunade awoke, still lying comfortably atop Kiyoshi. A small sparkle of drool glistened at the corner of her mouth.

She opened her sleepy eyes, murmuring, "Mmm…"

"Good morning, Tsunade-nee." Kiyoshi greeted her with a warm smile.

Out of respect for his teacher, Kiyoshi had been self-disciplined last night, refraining from being overly forward.

After all, he had only just realized he had grown close with his senpai, Shizune.

It was already generous of Tsunade to tolerate his presence here without getting overly jealous, as she usually would. He knew not to push his luck.

"Good morning, Kiyoshi."

Her cheeks flushed slightly, but Tsunade—who had gradually accepted her affection for him, treating Kiyoshi as a close companion—simply nestled deeper into his embrace with a serene smile.

This warm "pillow" was just too cozy to give up easily. No wonder Shizune, normally so reserved and shy, had been so captivated by him.

While she had been out gambling, the shy girl had surrendered her heart to Kiyoshi without a second thought.

However, Tsunade had been pleased with his behavior last night. Besides his occasional teasing, he hadn't overstepped.

"Shouldn't you be getting up now, Tsunade-nee?" Kiyoshi asked with a playful grin, his hand casually resting on her precious pendant.

Her cheeks reddened, her body tingling with a pleasant warmth, yet she wasn't truly annoyed, she simply shot him a playful glare.

"Stop it."

She snuggled closer, speaking lazily with a hint of a smile, "Just a little longer."

In her heart, she marveled at how close they had become without her even realizing it.

In the past, she would have dealt him a swift punch for such behavior. Now, she found herself enjoying these fleeting moments of quiet intimacy.

But as with all good things, it was cut short by the sound of Karin knocking on the door. Tsunade sighed, reluctantly leaving Kiyoshi's embrace, sending him back with a swift dismissal.

---

"Good morning, Shizune-senpai, Karin." Kiyoshi greeted as he left his room, freshly washed and ready for the day.

"Good morning, Kiyoshi." Shizune's face turned pink as she returned his smile, sniffing slightly as if noticing something.

Tonton scurried over, sniffing at Kiyoshi's feet, his large eyes full of curiosity. He let out a squeal as if addressing Shizune.

"Hmm? What's that, Tonton?" Karin asked in surprise. "Tsunade-sama?"

"Oh, it's nothing," Shizune quickly interjected with a knowing look in Kiyoshi's direction.

She patted Karin on the shoulder, shifting the conversation.

"Tonton's probably just hungry. Let's get breakfast ready for when Tsunade-sama comes out."

This mischievous guy never ceased to worry her, he'd been up to plenty of mischief lately, yet here he was again, right after seeing Tsunade-sama.

"I'll go out and grab some breakfast, then." Kiyoshi replied with a smile.

Although the Land of Whirlpools had fallen into ruin, it had become a paradise for small animals, with rabbits and other creatures thriving in the absence of predators.

While it was an option, the meat here wasn't especially tasty and grew tiresome quickly.

"Wait, you're going out?" Karin perked up excitedly. "With the Flying Thunder God Technique, that's so convenient."

She hadn't thought of it that way and had already braced herself to go rabbit hunting.

Her eyes sparkled with excitement, especially knowing they would soon return to Konoha, where she could finally reunite with her mother. She was positively thrilled.

"I'll be right back." Kiyoshi patted her head, playfully tapping her on the hip, drawing a silent yet blushing look from Shizune.

He smiled and vanished, using the Flying Thunder God Technique, leaving both women in awe.

---

"Good morning, everyone." Tsunade stretched as she came out, her pendant gleaming as it bounced, her figure drawing envious stares from Karin and Shizune.

"Breakfast is ready." Kiyoshi reappeared, carrying several steaming bags of food.

"Your favorite Ichiraku ramen," he announced, placing various foods on the table.

Alongside, he had brought dumplings, buns, and other pastries, forming a delicious spread.

"Wow, this looks amazing." Karin exclaimed, eyes wide.

"Thank you so much, Kiyoshi." Shizune added with a warm smile.

With a slight smile, Tsunade took her seat. "Let's dig in, then."

She hadn't expected Kiyoshi to bring so much, and for a moment, the thoughtfulness behind his actions made her heart warm.

---

After finishing the hearty breakfast, the group walked outside. Kiyoshi, gazing at the desolate island, turned to Tsunade with a smile.

"So, Tsunade-nee, how do you plan to renovate this place?"

"Let's start by leveling it and clearing away the ruins," Tsunade replied.

The ruins themselves didn't bother her, but there were still remnants of old skeletons scattered about, some even visible on the surface. They had to go.

"Understood."

Kiyoshi nodded and unrolled a scroll, sketching swiftly on it.

Tsunade, Shizune, and Karin curiously peered over his shoulder, amazed to see he was drawing a blueprint. The design portrayed a flat landscape.

"Will this do?" he asked, holding it up for Tsunade's approval.

"Yes, and then we can create a forest, plant flowers, and bring in some animals," she responded, pleased.

Meanwhile, Shizune and Karin came out with their belongings. "Kiyoshi, everything's packed up."

"Leave it to me."

Kiyoshi spread the scroll on the ground, pressing his right hand against it without forming seals, his gaze steely.

"Earth Release: Structural Transformation." He commanded.

A rumbling filled the air as the island quaked, layers of earth surging like a mudslide, burying the forest, ruins, and grass.

In moments, even the cabin behind them was swallowed, leaving a vast, flat plain.

"Wow. Is this really the Land of Whirlpools?" Karin and Shizune were in awe, while Tsunade, having seen much, simply nodded, understanding Kiyoshi's power.

"Now for the next step."

Kiyoshi joined his hands, and a wave of chakra pulsed outward, spreading in all directions.

Swish…. swish…

Grass and trees sprouted up from the earth, growing at an astonishing rate.

A gentle breeze swept through, and suddenly there were lush meadows and blooming flowers everywhere.

Tsunade, Shizune, and Karin watched in awe as the once-barren land transformed into a colorful paradise.

"This is…. unbelievable." Karin breathed, wide-eyed.

Kiyoshi wasn't finished yet. He unfurled another scroll displaying a detailed courtyard plan he had designed in his spare time.

With his right hand pressed down, he channeled his chakra.

With a deep rumbling, an elaborate structure rose from the earth, complete with pavilions, gardens, ponds, and rock formations.

The grand, classical design exuded elegance, utterly different from the typical shinobi world buildings.

Moments later, water began flowing, filling the lake. Karin's jaw dropped, "Is this…. real?"

Even Shizune was speechless, mesmerized by the grandeur. She had never seen such a magnificent building.

"Once we bring in some small animals, it will be perfect." Kiyoshi turned to Tsunade, who was still stunned. "Satisfied, Tsunade-nee?"

Looking at his creation, Kiyoshi felt a sense of accomplishment.

For an ordinary person, constructing something like this would require countless resources, but for a powerful ninja, it was a simple matter.

"More than satisfied." Tsunade replied, her face lit with a delighted smile.

Although she wasn't one for luxury, who could refuse such a beautiful residence? Especially one crafted just for her by Kiyoshi.

As she gazed at Kiyoshi, her cheeks warmed. She'd only just teased Shizune about it, and now here she was, swept off her feet.

Looking at the dreamlike surroundings, she found herself utterly captivated, unable to resist her new reality.
