"Ahh, so cute..."
Irisviel, holding Kanna in her arms, couldn't help but gush with affection.
She had little resistance to adorable children like Kanna, and Kanna didn't seem to mind being hugged so tightly by Irisviel.
When Shin returned to the room, he immediately noticed that Kanna's "qi" had increased significantly, so it was no surprise that she didn't feel uncomfortable being held so tightly by Irisviel.
Upon closer inspection, Shin could see a faint spark of electricity flickering at the tip of Kanna's thin, fluffy tail.
Clearly, Kanna had just finished recharging—as a dragon whose primary attacks are electrical, Kanna only needed to replenish enough electricity to restore her strength.
Earlier, when she couldn't find a place to recharge on the streets, she had immediately found an outlet to plug into after arriving at Shin's house—though it was likely that next month's electricity bill would take a hit.
But it didn't matter. The utilities for this house were all covered by the Shinomiya family, and the Shinomiya family, who were absolutely not short on money, would be the ones footing the bill.
In the original story, even a programmer could afford Kanna's electricity costs, so the Shinomiya family naturally wouldn't have any issues with it.
"By the way, why did you put Kanna in a maid outfit too?"
However, upon closer inspection, Shin noticed that Kanna's clothes had also been changed into a maid outfit.
The maid outfit Kanna was wearing wasn't the black-and-white one like the other maids in the house, but rather white and purple, so Shin hadn't noticed the change at first glance.
At first, Shin wondered where such a specially tailored maid outfit, perfectly sized for a child, had come from.
But then it occurred to him that a dragon's clothing was actually made from their scales, so Kanna's white-and-purple maid outfit was likely created from her scales under Tohru's guidance.
This was different from what Shin remembered from the original work—at least in the original, Tohru hadn't taught Kanna to become a maid.
"Because those who don't work don't eat. If you want a good life, you have to put in the effort."
Hearing Shin's question, Tohru wagged her finger and spouted a piece of wisdom that didn't sound like something she would normally say, surprising Shin.
Had Tohru been learning such profound life lessons from the internet while studying human customs? This didn't seem like the kind of thing you'd find in a maid-themed manga.
However, Tohru's next sentence quickly revealed the source of her newfound wisdom.
"That's what Vignette told me, and I thought it made a lot of sense."
"Ah, Vignette said that... that explains it."
Shin nodded. Although Vignette was a demon, her personality was so kind-hearted that she didn't act like a demon at all. In fact, she even received 20% less allowance from hell than other demons.
There was even a setting that said if Vignette were an angel, her score would be higher than Gabriel's... Thinking about it, the fact that Gabriel could repeatedly annoy someone like Vignette really showed how much of a troublemaker she was.
It seemed that during her visit to Shin's house last weekend, Vignette had shared quite a bit of wisdom that Tohru had taken to heart.
"I'll do my best!"
Kanna, still being held by Irisviel, waved her fist at Shin, looking very motivated—this part was no different from the original story.
"Lady Tohru said she'll train me to be a good maid for Shin."
"...Just learn the normal maid duties. Don't pick up everything."
Shin looked at the enthusiastic Kanna and nodded, then quickly added as if remembering something.
He was well aware of what Tohru's "maid duties" entailed.
Kanna would have no problem with regular maid work. Even though she looked like a little girl, her strength far surpassed that of a human.
But the special maid duties were something she definitely shouldn't learn. Not only would Shin never consider doing anything inappropriate with Kanna given her childlike appearance, but if he did, this book would probably get banned.
"But won't people report us if they find out Kanna is working as a maid in our house?"
Sayu Ogiwara looked at Kanna in her maid outfit with some concern.
After all, Kanna looked like a little girl. If people saw her working as a maid in Shin's house, they might report it, thinking she was being kept out of school.
"We'll deal with it if it happens."
Shin shrugged. At worst, they could just send Kanna to school like in the original story.
For now, seeing how enthusiastic both Tohru and Kanna were, Shin didn't plan to stop them.
"Irisviel, you can let go of Kanna now."
While they were talking, Irisviel had been holding Kanna tightly the entire time.
If it were an ordinary little girl, or if Kanna hadn't recharged and regained her strength, being held like that by Irisviel would probably have been quite uncomfortable.
"Ah, sorry, sorry. Kanna is just so cute, and she reminds me of my daughter..."
Hearing Shin's words, Irisviel quickly let go and laughed awkwardly.
"Huh? Miss Irisviel has a daughter?"
Sayu Ogiwara looked at Irisviel in surprise—although they had talked a lot before, Irisviel had never mentioned having a daughter.
At this, Sayuinstinctively glanced at Shin.
After all, Irisviel had said that Shin was the first person she had done "that" with, so wouldn't Irisviel's daughter have to be Shin's?
"No, no, she's not my biological daughter. It's a bit complicated..."
Irisviel smiled bitterly. Now that she had a better understanding of modern society, she knew that things like homunculus technology weren't something she could just casually bring up.
But she really did miss her daughter, Illya.
During the Fourth Holy Grail War, she had been prepared to sacrifice herself as the Holy Grail, but she hadn't expected to be saved by Shin in the end.
Now that she was safe, feelings of homesickness were inevitable—though she didn't have much attachment to the Einzbern family, she still missed her "daughter" dearly.
To this, Shin could only say that he would do his best to try and bring Illya out.
But first, the plot of the Type-Moon world would have to progress to *Fate/Stay Night*... and *The Holy Round Table Realm* hadn't even finished yet.
"Today's the day we enter *The Holy Round Table Realm*..."
Thinking about this, Shin realized that today was the day they would enter the mission world of *The Holy Round Table Realm*. After all, two days had already passed, and by now, Ritsuka Fujimaru and the others should have already run into trouble at the Holy City.
He wondered how Gawain, who had nearly been killed by him once, would behave when facing Ritsuka this time. Would he act the same as in the original story, or would he be even more ruthless?
