Deathnight woke up the vines at the entrance blocked most of the sun coming in, Deathnight rose and stretched his muscles still felt a bit numb, but atleast he can walk again! He walked out, the rest of the 7 brothers werent in their leaf beds, Deathnight winced at the brightness of the sun. The sun heat felt great, Deathnight stood there sinking it in. He looked around there were herb wolves going through training sessions and others treating injured wolves, Deathnight walked the camp it was connected to the domed den it still looked massive as ever, almost the size of a mountain, he couldnt believe how wolves were capable, of turning this place into this.
Deathnight entered the dome just as a howl went off wolves broke from their conversations and went to their spots where a deer laid in wait, Deathnight spotted his group making their way to their spot, they didnt look too happy, Ivysnouts shoulders and tail was drooping. Silverfang saw Deathnight, she turned and said something to Stoneheart, Stoneheart nodded and lead the rest to their spot, Silverfang walked up to Deathnight "how are you?" she asked, she sounded tired. Deathnight nodded and walked with Silverfang back to the group, they all looked tired. Deathnight sat down Stoneheart looked tired aswell but he still looked ready for anything. 'Dang!' Deathnight thought in alarm today was the group trials, and his pack was exhausted but why? "you all look tired" he said, Blackfur laid down " We got into trouble with the den Betas and the den alpha. Made us run most of the night we got only a little bit of sleep The seven brothers didnt get the same treatment but you already gave them what they deserved." Blackfur said he tried a grin " Right now we have a dsiadvantage." Said Stonefur he rose and started pacing, "we are so tired we wont make it very far in the trials." He said in frustration, Silverfang rose in a dominant pose "Stonefur dont put you spirit below you" she said Stonefur looked at her for a brief moment, "Youre right, im just so tired" He said sitting back down he ate his piece of flesh, Deathnight looked at everyone "we still do have a chance to win atleast the top 5" he said, he knew that that wouldnt do much but it was that or nothing "even then we should try and aim for the number one spot" Deathnight said, every one looked at him this time a bit more awake.
A howl broke everyones conversations the wolf den Beta stood on a ledge above the area Silverfang immidiatly looked at the wolf his fur was silver, "Thats den Beta Silver, he is my mothers brother." she said Deathnight and Ivysnoput looked at Silverfang, she was looking at Beta Silver in admiration, Ivysnouts ears flattened, Deathnight noticed that Ivysnout was looking at the ground as if he was ashamed of something.
Beta Silver looked at all the Omega trainees below, "the trials will begin, you will all make youre way to the pit" Beta Silver said he turned and made his way to the exit, every wolf got up headed the same way deathnight looked at Blackfur then to Ivysnout, was it the same pit that they went and encountered the 7 brothers. They could only guess that is was.
They arrived at the pit it looked different at day than night, It looked more like a place to force wolves to die of thirst, the sun was hot today, some wolves were already panting from the heat The trainees were accompanied bye a couple of Warriors and Three den Betas, Beta Bear and Silver were both standing side by side thee other Beta was a female, she had a desert brown coat, her eyes were amber Beta Bearpaw walked forward "this is Beta Redstorm, now i know what some of you are thinking, and id highly recommend that you stick to youre own generation, besides, she isnt a female to mess with" Beta Bearpaw said, he smiled and paced up and down the line up "Today the den Alpha is coming to check you all out, we can only accept 20 trainee packs and there is 30 pack here so try and make it to the top 20" Beta Bearpaw looked at each wolf with stern eyes "goodluck, the den Alpha will not reveal himself, he will be watching and so will we" He said and walked to a slope that goes into the pit "now lets begin".
For the rest of the week they fought the other trainee groups, they almost faltered due to the lack of sleep but they made sure they got enough, they won most of their matches and survived the eliminations, they were tired to the very bone Deathnight could see they wont last so long, The 7 brothers managed quit fine they werent tired Deathnight knew that the 7 brothers were the last it was now time for the 5 winning pack to verse but they had to be chosen and so their pack lined up with the other packs there were 10 packs that competed and now it was time to see who will be in the top five.
Beta Silver was the one to announce the lucky five, "these are the packs that will make it tothe top five, now this isnt to see whos the best, its to see who is most likely to succeed in training" he said in a stern tone, he sat down Beta Redstorm was at his side she was looking at each pack she then whispered into Silvers ear, he sat patiently. "Alright here are the top five packs, Talons pack, Lightenings pack, Cole's pack,Silverfangs pack and Mackerels pack, you five are moving to the last try out stage" Beta Silver said with a grin, Beta Redstorm walked forward " It will take place tomorrow" She said, her voice was soft and less stern than the other Betas, they all left the pit, almost evryone was tired and sore they had been there for a whole week. The Betas first took them to the river where they cleansed themselves Deathnight and his pack wer finished swiming and were relaxing under a tree, Stoneheart and Sharpeye fell asleep Wind and Grey were talking to each other about tomorrow. Ivysnout stood up at went for another swim Deathnight decided to lay down and rest his muscles despite most of the fights were pretty easy, even for them even though they were so tired.
Silverfang got up and went over to Deathnight she layed next to him, " You know, im still not sure how we made it, but im glad we did, now we just need to go for the best we can" she said in a calm voice, Deathnight agreed tomorrow would be the hardest part in the trials they were going to verse 4 other good packs, Deathnight saw how they fought, it was unbelievable that they made it. Deathnight saw a wolf come towards them he was fairly the same size as Wind, his furs colour had a texture to it he had black fur and it looked like a smoky colour, Deathnight heard his name at the trials, it was Cole. Deathnight sat up and so did Silverfang. Cole sat tdown infront of them "congrats on making it, i look forward to tomorrow, and i hope we fight many battles together" Cole said with a short bow of his head " Thank you Alpha Cole we appreciate that, may the best pack win" Silverfang said, Cole nodded and went back over to his pack, it was at that moment Deathnight felt as if someone was watching him, he scoured the other packs wolves, finally he's eyes met with lightenings, Lightening glared at Deathnight, Deathnight kept the gaze, lightening grinned he licked his chops and looked away, 'im gonna have to keep an eye on him' he thought, he still couldnt remember what happened that night but he did know that Lightening wants revenge.
Later on after everyone was dry and clean the Betas took them inside the dome, everyone went to their stationed dens, Deathnight was still awake he wasnt very tired, atleast not yet.
He was still bothered by the wierd dream he had 4 days ago with the two spirits. Deathnight kept asking himself the same question, who was his father and mother he wanted to know more than ever, Stonefur started to snore and broke Deathnight out of his thoughts, Deathnight decided if he was going todo his b est he was going to have to get some sleep especially before Stonefurs snoring gets worse than it is.
When morning came Deathnight was already up, He started heading to the entrance, he wasnt sure what he was going to do, he didnt care he started sprinting into the forest the gaurds barked out but he didnt hear them, he was already far off into the night.
Silverfang open her eyes slowly the other females were either still sleeping or stretching, she sighed and got up she stretched her legs and shook the dust off her coat she walked out the den and went towards the hollow where her pack would be, she walked into the sunlight, they were lucky enough that the domes top was open and aloud some sunlight in, she spotted Stonefur and the others come out their dens, "Goodmorning leader" Said Sharpeye, she stopped at Silverfangs side, she stiffled a yawn " So...today is the day we can finally see if our mentors training methods were useful and prove we are the best." Sharpeye said, Silverfang sighed.
They both walked to their friends, Stonefur was looking at the deer, that was strange, he usually always wants to take the first bite. Silverfang sat at the head of the preys lifeless body Wind and Grey were silently chatting to each other ,Wind caught Silverfangs eye "Whats wrong Silverfang?" everyone looked at her, she felt ashamed shes suppose to be the leader but instead shes looking at everyone like some hungry hog. "nothings wrong im just tired" she said, she looked around, where was Blackfur and Deathnight? She hoped that they didnt get into trouble, she was about to ask every one else when Blackfur walked into view, She sighed and relaxed her shoulders, maybe she's just nervous.
Blackfur sat down next to Stonefur and took a piece of flesh from the carcass. Blackfur looked at the others, Silverfang looked agitated and Stonefur looked like he was just defeated by a shrimp. Why are they looking like this, he only noticed now that someone wasnt here. "Where is Deathnight i havent seen him this morning" Blackfur said, the other looked around "I was wandering where he was too" said Silverfang, she stood up.
Silverfang looked up at the sky the clouds flew past slowly at ease, " We must find him before we head off to the pit. She turned almost bumping into someone she didnt need to see who it was but could tell by scent it was Beta Silver, she jumped backwards and stood straight the others went to her side and pressed their bodies to the ground, Beta Silver stood still looking at Silverfang "sorry Beta Silver i didnt mean to-" She stopped when the Beta started to laugh "I came unannounced, its partly my fault, you may all rise" Beta Silver said, everyone stood up Silverfang sighed relief, "thank you Beta Silver" she said, Silver nodded then sighed himself " though i am here for a different reason, have you got a member short?" he asked, Silverfangs blood went cold. "Yes, we havent seen Deathnight most of the morning." Siverfang said, Silver looked at them all "hmm well the guards said they saw a whitte wolf run into the forest alone at a great speed theyve never seen before." Silver said, everyone looked at each other, did Deathnight decide to give up an run home? Silverfang didnt want to believe that, but she had to assume the worst.
Beta Silver looked at Silverfang and nodded, "despite the lack of one member are you still going to carry on?" he said, Silverfang adverted his gaze, "yes" she said, Beta Silver nodded, he turned and walked away, "so, do you think he ran off?" said Stonefur. "Duh he just said he ran off!" Sharpeye barked, Stonefur looked away, a howl came and echoed off the domes walls, 4 other packs made their way to the entrance, Silverfang started walking the others following persuit.
Deathnight had been running in the pit most of the morning he was now laying under the shade of the pine tree, Deathnight looked at the sky, the others should be awake now wandering where he had gone of to, he got up and was about to head back when a twig snapped, he stood utterly still listening, a strange scent came to him it smelt like death and a wolf at the same time, he couldnt tell what. A growl broke out next to him, he ducked just as the wolf sprang at him. Deathnight moved quickly and ran but who ever was attacking was faster, the attackers jumped in front of him, Deathnight stopped a couple feet away, his eyes grew wide, the wolfs face, it was a skull, almost like his spirits. The wolf had mostly black ragged fur, the wolfs eyes were glowing blood red.
The wolf was incredibly strong, Deathnight moved to the right but was caught on the paw, the wolfs teeth penitrated his fur and skin, Deathnight yelped, it burned him, the wolf dragged him and threw him towards the pit, Deathnight got up his left paw was bleeding and felt like fire, The attacker struck hard, this time Deathnight dodged the attack, he almost lost balance due to his paw, he thought of striking but the wolf twisted round with such and agile speed that Deathnight didnt have enough time to react. The wolf grabbed hold of Deathnights scruff, the wolf bit down hard.
The pain was extreme, Deathnight tried to fight back bt the attacker had put his weight over him making it impossible. Deathnight knew if he didnt somehow get out of this hold he would be dead, he pushed with all his strength, the attacker yelp as he was lifted into the air. He lost hold of Deathnights scruff, he landed opposite of Deathnight "Thats pretty neat pup" the wolf said, his voice sounded gruff and echoed by little.
The wolf charged, Deathnight swerved to the right he started to ignore the pain in his paw and scruff, he charged at the wolf at high speed ~ No! Wait!~ shouted a voice, Deathnight stopped, where did it come from? He looked around but there was no one else around ~hey! dont lose focus!~ shouted another voice, Deathnight barely saw the wolf coming at him he fell backwards. ~He is too strong, for a charge attack, and to fast, That means he isnt normal.~ said first voice. Deathnight focussed on his enemy.
Deathnight wondered if he was going to survive, ~ youre best chance for now is to run!~ said the second voice, Deathnight growled the voices were telling him to run from this wolf who was 5 times faster than him? He wanted to reject but instead turned tail and ran ~try swerving between the trees he will struggle at his speed~ Said the first voice , Deathnight did as told he swerved round trees he heard and saw trees explode into splinters, he was truly struggling to catch him, Deathnight kept running, he tripped over a root and fell down hard.
The attacker stood on a branch of a tree, hes skull face looking menacingly at Deathnight, Deathnight got up keeping his gaze on the wolf, He heard a whisp and something struck his thigh. He saw a glowing stick with what looked like 4 feathers at the end oof it, Deathnight looked at where it came from the stick dissapeared he gasped, as it did, blood started oozing out, He finally saw the attacker he looked exacctly like the other one but had the strange glowing sticks at the other end was a sharp end it looking sort of triangular, Deathnight sprang left as the wolf sent it towards him. ~Thats a arrow head mage wolf, they can only summon those sticks called arrows~ said the second voice deathnight turned and tried running again but his leg was bleedoing and the pain was agonizing. But kept running swerving around the trees,he caught a familiar scent the scent belonged to his pack, he noticed that his attackers have stopped pursuiting him he ran towards the scent he attempted to jump over a bush.
Silverfang and the others walked behing the other packs, Sharpeye was walking on her right side while Stonefur was on the other Ivysnout hadnt even looked at Silverfang once this morning 'hes probably still feeling bad about last week' Silverfang said. Beta Silver slowed his pace and walked behind the group, Beta Redsorm walked on the side, Beta Bearpaw took the lead towards the pit. Beta Silver stopped his ears prickedup Beta Redstorm also stopped. Silverfang and the other packs stopped and listened it was the sound of footprints and the scent of fresh blood, it came from the bushes on the right side of them they all stood in a fighting stance side by side. A White wolf covered in blood jumped out the bushes he landed on the ground with a thud he slowly got up and looked at Silverfang, Everyones eyes grew large Silverfang sprang forward and so did everyone one else "Deathnight!?" she Exclaimed, his paw was bleeding terribly and so was his scruff, but his back leg oozed out blood, Deathnight tried to get upbut fell back down,The Betas were shocked like the rest of the wolves, they all surrounded Deathnight.
Deathnight felt the hard ground beneath himas he landed clumsily, he lifted his head and saw Silverfang infront of him she stared at him in shock, she sprang forward "Deathnight!?"she exclaimed, he tried to get up but immediatly fell back down his vision started to black out, "Deathnight!" someone shouted, Deathnight closed his eyes "dont worry he will be fine but we must get him to the training dens now!" another voice barked. Deathnight passed out as soon as he felt some one lifted him up.
Silverfang saw Deathnights eyes closing "Deathnight!" she shouted, Beta Redstorm was at his side almost immediatly, " Dont worry he will be fine but we must get him to the training dens now!" she barked, Stonefur and one of the brothers from Lightening group that Silverfang knows as Thunder lifted Deathnight carefully they went back to the dens as fast as they could, Silverfang could see from the corner of her eye that Lightening kept grinning, 'Selfish idiot!' she thought, she kept looking at deathnight blood covered body, Stonefur and the others had the same worried looks as her.
They made it at the dens the Guards at the front looked at the group with round eyes Beta Bearpaw growled something at at them and they shook their heads stood in their fighting stances, if the attackers wanted to finish the job they would have needed to fight their way in when they entered Blackfur sprinted ahead heading towards the herb wolf dens 'could have done that sooner!' Silverfang thought angrily but realised that he would have ended up like deathnight or worse.
Atleast 6 senior medic wolves ran out out and took over carrying Deathnights body into the herb wolf dens two medic wolves stayed behind "you must not enter!" the first one said, Silverfang was about to reject when Beta Silver stepped forward, "He will be fine, for now, go clean youre self up" He barked, Silverfang and the others stared at the entrance before making their way to the river, Silverfang only noticed now that the other warriors and Omega trainees were staring in shocked horror, they had just seen a trainee covered in blood pulled into the herb wolf dens.
They jumped into the water one by one the other 4 packs join in they ewere whispering to each other about Deathnight, the 7 brothers got out earlier and laid themselves under a tree., Silverfang saw that Lightening was grinning about the situation. She jumped out the water andheaded straight towards them " Silverfang wait" said Sharpeye, Lightening got up as she aproached 2 of the brothers got up "Garo, Toro let her pass" he said, Toro was a bit smaller thean the other brothers but had lean muscles he gazed at Silverfang with one eye as he sat back down. Gardo stood where he was his fur was different from the others it had a few circular shapes on it, he stared at Silverfang threatingly but obeyed and slowly laid back down.
Lightening smiled at Silverfang "what brings you here?" he asked, he licked his chops, Silverfang stared at him " you dont deserve to be here!" she growled Lightenings smile dissapeared, he got up keep ing his eyes on her, her packmates had jumped out the water and were making their way towards her. The brothers went to each others sides while Her pack stood by her.
When it looked like a fight was going to break out Cole jumped in between the packs "Stop,this is ridiculous!" he barked Silverfang thought for a moment, would it be worth it? he was smiling about Deathnight,her packmate, she would not tolerate it. But Cole was right, a fight wont solve Deathnights problem, she walked off head low her pack mates followed persuit "i wonder who attacked him?" said one of the other trainees, Silverfang also wanted to know but the Betas told them to not look for the attackers. Silverfang laid down facing the tree, the others sat down lookingf at one another, Blackfur got up, he sat next to Silverfang, " Deathnight will be fine,i know weve only known him for a week and a couple days but surely he can make it, he is fighter." he siad, he wanted to help but didnt know how else.
A small wolf was running towards them, he stopped infront of Silverfangs pack "The Betas are calling youre pack pack leader!" he said and ran off, Silverfang got up and lead them to the entrance, she could se the trail of blood that seeped out offf Deathnight drying in the sun. They went past six gaurds this time, the Betas didnt want anymore problems.
Waiting on the otherside was Beta Bearpaw, Silver ang stood straight while the others crouched low to the ground, "You can rise" he said they got upshaking their fur, Beta Bearpaw stiffled a yawn, "Good news is Deathnight will survive there was no poison involved, and his injuries werent fatal, and so on, he will live" He said, everyone sighed their relief, " Though it will be a while before you can see him again due to his leg and paw injury" everyone wanted to ask if they found the attackers but already knew what the answer would be "until Deathnight can wake up and tell us what and who attacked we will notify the hunter wolves." Bearpaw said.
the next few days Silverfang had been visiting Deathnight frequintly and so has Blackfur and Stonefur, Deathnight had been unconcious for over two days, Silverfangs pack had become restless since the, there had been no other attacks, but they were determined to find the attackers, the trials were on hold, and so on they began their warrior training to pass time, they were being taught basics and learned about different aspects about the armour and metal claws. Another day had passed, but Deathnight did not wake up.
Deathnight opened his eyes, he was at a strange place. He was standing in between 7 rocks that had smooth edges, on top of each rock sat dark figures their glowing blue and red eyes staring at him, the figures all had a large energetic feeling, Deathnight could feel it. "How nice to meet the pup of Dyer the great" said one of the wolves his appearance came, he had a brownish coat, the red glow died down showing dark brown eyes. Deathnight cocked his head to one side "Dyer the great?" he asked, was that his father? Dyer the great, Deathnight satdown, "Yes youre father" said another wolf his appearancenow showing he had eyes that looked more like silver, his coat was grey with black blotchs all over.
Deathnights eyes grew wide "Y-you know my father ?" Deathnight asked another wol spoke behind him " Well some of us fought beside him before" the wolf said, it was a she wolf though her voice was quit deep, Deathnights head started to go fuzzy, " What is this place, who are you?" he asked, the three looked at one wolf across, the wolf had dark grey fur "this is the stone council falls its located in Sudina where the river goes though these stones have been destroyed after zillions and zillions of years ago." the wolf said the wolf next to him shifted he had whitefur his snout was black, "we are the Watchers of Sudina, past leaders and Deltas." he said, he rose and jumped off his rock, " You are not from this realm nor clan but some of youre relatives fought here, so thats youre pass or now" he said, he sat infront of deathnight "I am Molder" he said the others also introduced themselves.
"I am Mudfur" said the brown wolf, Deathnight could now hear something that sounded like a waterfall. " I am Poka" said the wolf with blotches "But my relative name is Poka Hugal" he said, Deathnight wanted to smile, he knows another Poka, the one that assisted him and Mortecai. The she wolf laid down on her rock "I am Fierry" she said, Deathnight wondered how you spell her name, the pronounciation was a bit wierd her accent sounded more like Coyotoshi, she didnt look like a coyote though so why does her accent sound like theirs? The wol with dark grey fur had his eyes closed, he would have been a rock himself, "I am Rai"he said his tone was flat and he showed nothing on his face now.
Molder looked at the other two wolves that still had the dark shades covering them " The other two will not i ntroduce or show themselves to you yet." he said he turned around "if you want to know how we know youre Father is because he helped us even though he struggled to get to this realm" he jumped up on his rock, " so far i see you still dont know who youre father is, hell have to tell you by now" he said, he then looked at the sky "youve been gone or atleast 3 days,youre friends are waiting for you," he said, Deathnight gasped, Three days!? but it felt only a few minutes.
The ground suddenly started breaking apart "Goodluck pup, you have a deadly journey to go through!" barked Molder.Deathnight fell through the wholes, pain started to course through his body. There was a light ahead of he, he was falling towards it!
Silverfang and the others were in Deathnights den they had just finished their learning and trainin, Silverfang saw movement from Deathnight, she rose up looking at him, Deathnight winced, slowly but surely his eyes opene, he blinked at the light. Silverang and the others rushed towards him, at first he thought he was bing attacked until he saw it was them, Deathnight was finally awake, the others were relieved.
Deathnight sat up, everyone surrounded himn "hey man you okay?" asked Stonefur, "what happened?" Wind asked, everyone exploded him with questions, he just smiled " Guys my head still hurts" He said, everyone stopped "no kidding you jumped out that bush so clumsily" teased Sharpeye, everyone started laughing. It was when Beta Silver entered everyone moved aside standing straight, Deathnight wanted to do the same but Beta Silver put his paw on Deathnights head "You need rest, in the mean time you can answer some questions."
