Ansel stared at Gabrielle, keeping his focus solely on her, he ignored the hurling insults of Lexster.
He placed her hand on his cheek, giving the palm of her hand a long kiss.
"You're going to get better, and then I'm going to ask for your hand," He promised, kissing her palm in-between every word.
He let out a long sigh, using all his strength to hold back his tears.
"I hope to make you the happiest woman alive," He whispered, nuzzling his nose against her finger, "You are so precious to me. I just can't wait for you to wake up."
The hours passed, the castle doctors finished up attending to Gabrielle, giving her medicine to subdue the pain. Ansel stayed at her bedside, continuing to watch her as she was being attended to.
