Elder Shiming is merely a pawn of the Dao Ancestor, reassembling the Nine Heavens to break the seal, with the ultimate goal of pushing the great tribulation. As for other matters, the Dao Ancestor is actually indifferent.
"You say I plot for the Tribulation Device to restrain you? Yes, but also no.
The Tribulation Device absorbs the Qi of the great tribulation; although it has some restraint against the 'Supreme Heaven Opening Scripture', its greatest restraint is against the Heavenly Dao Power. Saying it restrains you is more like saying the Tribulation Device restrains those blessed by the Heavenly Dao."
