Hawkeye Bill had tied me up and was walking behind me leading me at gun point to the location my uncle had given him. My uncle had instructed Hawkeye to let me lead on foot while he verbally guided me on the direction to head.
"By now knowing him as much as we do, he should have learned the layout of Šume Smrti where he established his home base. Therefore it's safe to assume he knows how to traverse the tree tops of Šume Smrti safely. Let me remind you that 1. It's the fastest way to me. 2. No matter how many times we've tried we cannot cross through the tree tops of Šume Smrti safely or go anywhere in that place safely without him. And he must be alive and whole to do so. That is imperative and utmost importance. So it is your job to deliver him to me safely and whole William Borgastiene or is it Hawkeye Bill now? Yes I remember who you are Billy. Or who you used to be. Fail me and you will pay dearly. And not with your life but with the lives of others."
And then my uncle ended the video transmission with a wicked grin on his face.
That was my uncle's response when Hawkeye reported to my uncle that he had successfully captured me and was now guiding me on the route through the tree tops of Šume Smrti. From some unknown reason to me wherever I walked and whoever was with me was completely safe from the dangers of Šume Smrti. And so I was forcibly lead at gun point to my uncle through the tree tops of Šume Smrti using some unknown power to protect not just myself from the dangers of Šume Smrti but also my captor Hawkeye Bill as well.
That other name my uncle had called Hawkeye, William Borgastiene, sounded familiar to me though how or why I couldn't remember. Though I hoped that it could be a clue as to how I could escape my captor and so I ran through everything I had learned since I had moved into Castle Smrt.
Blank. My mind was blank. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't remember a single thing outside the lay of the outside land. The name William Borgastiene sounded so familiar to me and I couldn't connect William Borgastiene to Hawkeye Bill. I knew the information was important I just couldn't remember why. I was starting to get desperate to escape as the area of Šume Smrti that we where currently headed through would put us within sight of the tree opposite of the tree I had originally been spotted in.
For some unknown reason we didn't make the trip in a straight line but moved more through the east side of Šume Smrti always avoiding going through the dead center of Šume Smrti and always more than 800 acres from the edge of the dead center of Šume Smrti. This alone made me nervous as I had been through that ENTIRE area and never once came across any reason to avoid it as avidly as my captor was.
Knowing the kind of man I knew Hawkeye Bill to be, the thought that there was something within that area to make HIM avoid it terrified me. And yet it left me curious as to why even though I had been through that entire area before, I found no reason to avoid it. So this unorthodox route had me on edge. I knew my journey was about to come to the end with my death at the hands of my uncle.
Suddenly I recognized the tree off to my right. Another mark left by myself. My escape route. I had several placed all over Šume Smrti but this was the closest one I have managed to get to. Gathering my courage and choking on my fear, I made my desperate attempt to flee. Stopping suddenly, I spun around and kicked, aiming right for his balls.
Hawkeye was caught off guard. So wrapped up in a self induced sour mood of guard dog to his prisoner and unable to harm him, that the attack caught Hawkeye Bill completely unawares and unfortunately Bill ended up getting a boot to the taint by yours truly.
I hit him with such force, that Hawkeye became a literal hawk as he went squawking backwards as he gained air and was lifted up off his feet. Spinning around once more, I sprinted towards the tree that marked my escape route. That's when I heard the strange sound. Almost like a muffled thwmp. Then my whole body jerked and I was engulfed in white hot pain. My vision went red then black.
Last thing I remembered before losing consciousness was feeling my body hit the ground. Then the darkness completely enveloped me.
