Chapter 274 - Chapter 274: Would You Like to Dance Too?

The game began, and Lee Jordan's voice rang across the pitch.

"Roger Davies starts with the Quaffle..."

"Slytherin's using a pincer attack strategy—wait, wait! The Quaffle's heading to William! Yes, pass it to William! That's right, oh, wow! What a perfect pass!"

"William's speeding up! Is he going for a breakthrough? No, it's his signature long-range shot!"

"And he really shoots! Hey! He made it! Oh! Slytherin really tried to defend that! That was a tough shot!"

"Jordan! Stick to actual commentary!" Professor McGonagall's voice cut in, stern as ever.

"Okay, okay... Slytherin has possession. Marcus Flint with the Quaffle. Ravenclaw's Beaters, double strike!

"Nice Bludger play! William intercepts!"

"Look—he's going for a shot!

"AHHH—"

"GOAL!" Lee screamed at the top of his lungs.

(clang—sounds of hammering)

"Oh no, it didn't go in. Just a little too wide. Still, taking a shot under a four-man defense? That was a fair attempt.

"Don't look at Davies being open—his accuracy is abysmal. Ravenclaw should stick to this approach."

Lee Jordan had transformed into a know-it-all commentator, giving analysis like a professional.

And honestly? He wasn't wrong. Ravenclaw's veteran players weren't performing well, and their newer ones were still in training. Scoring depended almost entirely on William.

William also knew Slytherin inside out, after all, he'd faced them countless times during the time loops.

As the game progressed, Ravenclaw pulled further ahead.

Slytherin's captain, Marcus, gritted his teeth and gave Chaser Dorian Pucey a meaningful look.

Dorian immediately understood and veered his broom wildly as if it had lost control, hurtling straight toward William.

William lightly shifted his broom and gracefully dodged upward, evading the crash. He then suddenly ducked, and a black Bludger whizzed past just inches above his head.

"Foul! That's a deliberate foul!" Lee shouted furiously. "Intentional collision, surely that's a penalty—"

But Madam Hooch hadn't blown her whistle. Her attention had been distracted by Slytherin's Keeper, Miles Bletchley, who was loudly declaring that he was having a... "personal emergency."

Another Bludger shot past William's right ear, this one hit by Slytherin's Beater Derrick.

Meanwhile, the second Beater, Bole, was charging full-speed toward William like a madman.

Both Beaters raised their bats high...

William weaved in a serpentine pattern, causing Bole and Derrick to crash into each other with a resounding thud.

Bole lost his balance and fell off his broom. The crowd gasped, but thankfully, the professors caught him with a well-timed spell.

William seized the Quaffle passed by Davies and hurled it directly at the incoming Bludger. The Bludger's direction shifted mid-air, slamming into Derrick's Nimbus 2001.

The broom wobbled uncontrollably, and Derrick plummeted in a wide arc, landing heavily on the grass below.

William gave his broom a small tap, soaring gracefully into the air as he gazed down at the trembling Marcus. His grin was wicked.

"Would you like to dance too?" he called down mockingly.

"AHHHHHHH!" Lee's voice exploded in a high-pitched screech that reverberated across the pitch:

"William,

"YOU'RE SUCH A SHOW-OFF!"

William: "..."

With two Slytherin players down, the entire Slytherin bench was in an uproar.

Professor Snape stood up, his black robes billowing dramatically in the wind.

He turned his back to the pitch, waving his wand like a conductor and bellowed to his players:

"FOUL!

"PENALTY!

"Now—raise the pitch! Give them a high note that'll shatter the sky!"

Snape's expression was calm, his demeanor dignified, the perfect image of a masterful Potions professor. He even flicked his hair, trying to force his greasy bangs into a more "dashing" position.

However, Madam Hooch remained indifferent to Slytherin's and even looked as though she might break into some beatboxing.

First, Dorian Pucey's collision was clearly a foul. And the Beaters' actions were also dirty, though they failed to land a hit on William.

William's maneuver, by contrast, was perfectly clean. He had merely "accidentally" redirected the Bludger. Who could've predicted it would hit Derrick?

Madam Hooch raised a single finger, signaling a reset for the fallen players.

When the Slytherins hesitated, she blew two short, sharp whistles.

"Two penalty shots for Ravenclaw!" Lee roared, "Slytherin is paying the price for their despicable, dirty tricks!

"This team is trash! If I were on the field, I'd take on ten of them—"

"Jordan, if you can't remain unbiased in your commentary...!" Professor McGonagall interjected.

"I am being unbiased, Professor!" Lee protested. "Oh fine... Derrick and Bole are back on their brooms... Davies has the Quaffle again..."

The match grew fiercer.

Both teams' Beaters were merciless, especially Slytherin's players. They didn't care whether their bats hit the Bludger or an opponent; they just kept swinging like mad.

William repeated his trick and slammed the Bludger into the opposing brooms again.

"Look! Cho is speeding up!" Lee suddenly shouted.

Cho Chang was diving sharply, she seemed to have spotted the Golden Snitch.

Ravenclaw supporters jumped to their feet, forming a wave of sky-blue as they screamed encouragement.

Malfoy was hot on her heels.

Though his broom was superior and his skills decent, his judgment and instincts were poor.

Cho's performance was impeccable, and Malfoy followed her relentlessly.

He had to catch the Snitch, if he didn't, everyone would assume he'd only made the team because of nepotism and bribes!

Especially Potter, Potter would never let him live it down!

Malfoy was determined to prove that he had earned his position and could stand toe-to-toe with Harry.

The young witches and wizards in the stands held their breath, watching as the two Seekers, Cho and Malfoy, plummeted from the sky at breakneck speed.

"They're going to crash!" Lee shouted.

But at the last second, Cho pulled up, ascending gracefully and spiraling away.

Malfoy, however, was going too fast to stop.

THUD!

He slammed into the ground with a force that echoed across the pitch.

A groan rippled through the Slytherin stands.

Snape exhaled heavily.

Useless.

Absolutely useless.

I give you the opportunity, and this is what you do?

Of course this happens when you rely on Lucius's influence and hand the Seeker position to his son!

And now look, the position's compromised!

Without a Seeker, Ravenclaw could score as many points as they wanted!

Cho hovered mid-air, brushing her hair back as the wind tousled her ponytail. Her silky strands shimmered as they danced in the breeze.

She smirked and shouted confidently:

"Hey, rookie!

"Welcome to Quidditch!"
