After we left, we went on a date to help her cool down, then from there we went home. After I got home, I headed to the study room to finish up some work before I returned to being a doctor. While I was wrapping things up, I came across a very interesting profile that felt very familiar. It was my past self's sister's profile. Even though she was a stranger to the current me, there was a very familiar feeling I felt every time I looked at her profile picture.
What is wrong with me? I don't know the person but whenever I look at her picture, a wave of sadness washes over me. It's like I've met her but I don't know where.
I stared at the computer screen, lost in thoughts, not noticing the time pass. I snapped out of my thoughts, closed my computer, and went to check on the twins before heading to bed.
It was the next day in the morning; I got Ha-jun and Ha-eun ready for their regular check-up. I was done getting them ready, so I went to bid farewell to Father then left for the hospital. I had just entered the hospital door when a familiar voice called out to me. It was Jiyeon and Ha-jun; they came for a prenatal check-up.
Jiyeon rushed past me and went straight to the baby stroller as if she didn't see me there. She started cooing at the baby, then turned around to look at me. "Where are we going? Same as before?" she asked, replacing her smiley expression with a stern look.
"Yeah!" I replied nervously, scared for my life.
Yeish! What got her pissed so early in the morning? Her mood swings are up again. Oh god! What did I do to deserve this?
A wave of helpless sorrow washed over me, mixed with the sting of undeserved blame. My eyes clouded with a pitiful sadness, as I thought to myself when someone's presence snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Ehhh! How come you are still alive?" I asked, surprised that he was still in one piece after yesterday's show.
"What? You are disappointed?" he said, a teasing smile playing on his lips.
"Disappointed? Nope, wouldn't want my godchild to be fatherless. But I have to say, I'm shocked that you survived that wave. I don't know about you, but your wife nowadays is making us walk on eggshells. She is like a volcano that can erupt any moment," I said, shaking my head as I crossed my arms.
"Are all pregnant women like that? Cause wow, by the time she gives birth, I'll be the same size as a straw. Can you believe that yesterday she forbade me from using anything she bought?" he said in disbelief of what had happened to him.
"Wasn't she the one who designed the house?" I asked, trying so hard not to laugh at him.
"Bro, tell me about it. I couldn't use the spoons, forks, knives, pots, bed, soap, and everything else she bought. Which is almost 90% of the things I'm using. After dinner, she wanted to sleep but refused to sleep without me. I told her I still had some work to finish, and she said it was fine; I can continue working in the bed. Before even five minutes could pass, she was already telling me that the way I'm tapping the laptop was annoying her, and I should go work somewhere else. I then went to the study only to hear her saying she finds me ugly now that she is pregnant, so she doesn't want me anymore," he said, sighing as I busted into laughter.
"Hahaha!" I started laughing as I tapped on his shoulder to comfort him.
"Bro! Don't laugh; my back still hurts from sleeping on the floor the whole night. I'm telling you, she might be carrying a hell baby in her tummy," he said, making me burst into laughter.
"You watch too much fiction," I said, shaking my head as I tapped his shoulder.
