Chapter 57 - 57. The Unrelenting dragons.

Jake POV:

I woke up from my sudden blackout and I was in some place but some distance away from me is a person seated in the lotus position. He had spiky white hair and looked old. He was wearing a black skin fitting long sleeved t shirt which highlighted his fit body that was in great condition despite looking frail. When Jake came closer the old man opened his eyes and charged in the blink of an eye.

I was able to barely keep track of his movements which were fluid and yet were pulsing with contained power. I was barely able to keep up but every time I went in for a strike he redirected my strikes or just made me hit myself and when I got tired he delivered a devastating strike with either his fists or feet and each strike killed me. Ten times I died before I started to notice the old man's movements.

The moves contained speed mixed with the fluidity of rushing water. It was like an unrelenting stream which directed everything according to its flow and the strikes felt like the overwhelming force generated when huge volumes of water hit a boulder with incredible speed. Each strike carried the force of a tumultuous river. Finally after nearly a year of dying and learning I mastered the old man's martial arts and defeated him. The old man says, " My name is Bang and the name of my technique is Water Streaming Rock Smashing Fist." The Old man turns to dust and rearranges into a pair of gauntlets around my fists.

The gauntlets felt like an extension of my arms and then the remaining parts condensed into metal boots. Reaching till the bottom of the knees.

" So, these are the weapons dad made for me." I say to no one particular and another opponent comes in front of me. I crack my neck and knuckles creating metallic creaks. Me and the old man start our long clash.

Haley POV:

I was starting at what looked like a viking holding a double sided battle axe. He had red, long, unruly and dirty hair while his beard was arranged in a large braid and he had armour made from leather and metal plates. He charges towards me with bloodlust and fury which I dodge gracefully. But then he grabs me by my legs and headbutts me and before I know it I died. A viking may look like an unruly barbarian but that is just a mask to hide their cunning, a lesson learned through blood and death.

The viking fought like a despicable fox and so I fought with my fists, claws, skills and fire. The viking was now like a burning heap of flesh and bones yet he still stands and that alone deserves my respect and I give it a bow. The viking melts into a puddle of silver and from it emerges an dark blue hammer axe with light blue and gold highlights. Which I struggle to pick up but deep down I know that I want it.

" Struggling Resolve is what I shall name you." I murmur to the axe and see a new foe materialising. I charge towards him with Struggling Resolve in hand and with a smile.

Lao Shi POV:

I am old and yet I know that I'm not almighty a fact proven even more by the existence of Jonathan, my son-in-law who has ascended beyond godhood. I am nearly 70 years old which can be considered a blessing for a dragon to live that long as we face the greatest of perils in our quest to protect the magical realm. The boy that I dismissed when he was dating my daughter has now become truly omniscient and omnipotent as nothing can be hidden from his eyes.

I have searched for the way of Ascension to become a ascended dragon through time and space. I even used the power of the Uchrono hourglass to search for the ascended dragons of the past as I never wanted to part with my daughter and his family. Now I face a man in front of me who I can remember by the old books of Chinese literature.

In front of me was Lü Bu a human so powerful it is said that he could split the sky with the swing of his hand but I know what he is. He is the Ascended dragon of China to whom war mattered the most but he couldn't be defeated which was the source of his greatest dismay and dismay was the reason for his demise.

He spoke nothing and yet he attacked me with unbelievable force and just like that I was swatted away like a fly but I did not die. A fury fueled by pride and wounded ego forced me to get up and I burst forward in my dragon form with all my might and I was able to scrape his abdomen area causing him to smirk condescendingly and then he keeps swatting me away like a fly.

4 years, 4 God forsaken years it took me to defeat him. Lü Bu, the blue murder is now dead and what's worse is that I know he wasn't even in his full power. He smiles and disintegrates a Guan dao helberd which I pick up. I shall call you, " Sky Splitter." The weapon is larger than me but I can wield it with ease. Lü Bu materializes again this time I was the one who gave the first smirk which startles him for a few moments but then he responds with attacks and a smirk of his own. It seems like I am enjoying the battling.
