After Lance say out with his declaration of beating Pryce, the meeting continued. The Blackthorn have asked to demote Gladion to a minor gym Leader and Gladion had retaliated by accusing them if hiding fairy type existence for decades.
He also indirectly threatened them that he would spread the information on Social media if they don't back off and agree to his request in a backdoor conversation.
Gladion watched the Blackthorn League offical squirm with a mix of triumph and amusement.
'I've got them on the ropes.Let's see how far I can push this,' Gladion thought.
He locked eyes with the Blackthorn official, whose arrogance had deflated under Gladion's earlier accusations. "So, do you still want to continue with the motion to demote me to a minor Gym Leader?"
Gladion asked, his voice cool but cutting.
The official swallowed hard, his face crumbling as he sat down, pride stung. 'Nailed it,' Gladion thought, his evil chuckle echoing in his mind.
Gladion was pretty sure that the Blackthorn clan knew about Fairy types—or at least suspected them—and hid it to protect their Dragon supremacy. If that leaks, their reputation's toast.
The Blackthorn Clan, with their Dragonite, Kingdra, and Flygon ranches, had suppressed the knowledge to maintain their influence. A public leak would tank their standing and embolden trainers to challenge them with Fairy types.
They had shown their dominance in the war with their dragonites. They were pseudo legendary Pokemon with no weaknesses. But now with this reveal, their military power would also be affected.
While the Blackthorn official backed down, Johto officials, allied with the clan, pressed on, "It doesn't matter if Fairy type is real one not," one said, his voice sharp.
"We can't declare it an official type. It'll cause political and economic chaos in the region."
Before Gladion could respond, Giovanni, the Viridian Gym Leader, tossed a file onto the table, his face cold and commanding. "It's real," he said, his voice firm.
"I had Fairy types fight Dragon types. This report confirms what Professor Oak said. There's no question—Fairy type exists. And they have a type advantage against dragon types."
Gladion's brow rose, his face flickering with surprise. 'Giovanni's backing the reveal? And me, indirectly? Did he wake up on the wrong side of bed or something?'
Another Johto official protested, his face nervous. "But we shouldn't release this to the public!" G
iovanni raised an eyebrow, his voice dripping with disdain. "Why not? It's groundbreaking research. Every trainer deserves to know about a new type. If you're saying we shouldn't because of the Blackthorn Clan, need I remind you the Indigo region was formed for its entire population, not one clan?"
The official shut up under Giovanni's glare.
'So that's what it is. Giovanni is playing patriot. He is not supporting me.' Gladion thought, 'His hate for Johto from the war must outweigh his grudge against me. At least he's loyal to Kanto. A rare good side to him.'
Koga spoke up. "Very well, if no one else has objections, Fairy type will be declared an official Pokémon type by the League by day's end."
Silence followed—no one dared challenge. It was a done deal now. Koga continued to the next matter, "Now, we must address how this affects Pokémon populations. Fairy types will be in demand due to their advantage over Dragons. Many trainers will want one."
He paused, "Mt. Moon among other areas will see more trainers hunting Cleffa and Clefairy—it's their only known habitat. Disturbing those Pokémon could trigger a Pokemon tide, devastating nearby towns."
Everyone aware of Mt. Moon's aggressive Pokémon and the risk of a catastrophic stampede became tense.
Koga's voice was firm. "I suggest increasing Ranger and military presence in the region. Issue a public statement that the Mt. Moon route is closed to trainers—anyone caught there will be treated as a poacher."
Nods rippled through the room, agreeing to his suggestion.
Koga turned to Gladion, "Gym Leader Gladion, you're closest to Mt. Moon. You'll be responsible for its protection." Gladion nodded, 'Figures they'd dump this on me.'
Agatha scoffed, her face filled with disdain. "If that useless Flint hadn't abandoned his post as a Gym Leader, we'd have two people watching the area. To think he left his young kids to his oldest son—a useless man and an even worse father."
'Harsh, but true,Flint ditched his half-dozen kids and the Pewter Gym to chase his wife, leaving Brock to handle everything. He did not even think about son's dreams or how difficult it would be for his son to take care of such a large family.' Gladion thought
Giovanni seized the opportunity, his voice cold. "We can agree Brock's not strong enough to remain a Gym Leader. I propose a motion for a new Gym Leader in Pewter City."
'And there he goes,' Gladion thought with a wry smile, 'Giovanni's back to his schemes, probably wanting one of his cronies in Pewter as a Major gym leader. He's lost League support after those corrupt officials were exposed. He's making a power grab.'
