Midnight, 4 days after the incident of Desmare Mangue. On the island of Mosphere. In the city of Saka, a massive idol show was underway. Blearing and gleaming lights of technicolor streaming through the air.
A Group of individuals danced on stage, sticks that were shaped with stars and glowing. Beams of particles and dust came from these wands. They wore bright frilly dresses in the style of glamorous Lolita. An extravagant display of tailorship and fabrics.
On this island. Was a culture of music, Fashion, Dance-
And Magic.
The content that came from the tips of these individuals wands, in front of thousands, were not just affects and tricks of production. But was the very magic fueled by their souls and their wants.
Magical Girls.
"Golden! No other way about it!" Two of the three girls on stage stomped their platform boots on stage as the third flew through the sky! Dust radiating from what seemed to be butterfly wings. Her long pink and blue hair done into twin drills
But before another lyric could be sung-
KATHOOM
A Massive explosion reverberated and exploded across the glossy dark wooden stage! The main singer who had been flying, Kasane, had be whipped through the air as a blinding projectile slammed into her and sent her limply flailing across the stage! Her body injured and broken as she looked up! The crowd shouting and screaming in confusion!
"N-No…Please don't be the Holong!" She said as blood dripped from her forehead. "Hamon…Glaive!" She said, as she pulled a small capsule from her dress. Vibrational strings of pink and silver manifested into a long sharp pole arm! Its blade like a crystal!
The other two of the Mirai Girls had their own weapons out. One a spear and the other a stave. But they began to drop their guard when
Inside the massive claw mark notable of the Paw Paw fruits teleportation ability, as the dust rose and dispersed, revealed none other than-
Kamiko Kirk.
"L-Leroy?" Kirks voice whimpers as he, having not eaten in 4 days, left dehydrated in the travel time as well, Was left severely disorientated. His hair was frizzed and manged. Dirt caked on his face and scrapes scabbed over.
His eyes shot up! Seeing the three girls now in front of him! All pointing their weapons at his throat! But he was quicker! Shuffling backwards, he pulled his Nephobo from behind, the 4 section staff all snapping into place as he as muttered the incantations below his throat
"Atmo…!" Mist, Streams and Clouds formed at the front of the Steelamboon. His posture was weak. But he was ready to fight! The sight however, caused the Mirai Girls to question what they were seeing
"Steelamboon?" The Second, Miku said with green locks of hair.
"A Fishman?" The Third, Rin with blonde locks narrowed her eyes.
"Weather Sorcery…?" Kasane ended off. Her lips began to move. But before she could vocalize her words and questions, a pang of pain shot through her! Her brain that had been rattled caught up to her–!
In a flash of instinct, Kirk crossed the distance, crossing the stage and grabbing Kasane before she hit the ground to harshly. Even as his own body was wracked with pain. There was a deep almost maternal and caring aspect to him that overrode that suffering.
Her soft dark pink, near red drills hair fluttered against Kirks shoulders as the Koi's arms wrapped around her neck. Kasane's soft, round face nuzzling into the crook of the mans neck.
"What the?!" Miku said in a strange flat, bell like accent that lacked a breathy quality and was emphasised by a distinct staccato and timbre, filled with cracks, pops, and clicks to her constants.
The sight of a man, a feminine one at that, dash across a stage when he had once been ready to fight with a magic they recognized, drop it and catch their lead signer in his arms despite seemingly being his enemies, left the girls for a loop…
"Hngh…" Kirk moaned. His knees buckling as all of that energy, or lack there of, finally caught up to him. Causing him to collapse with Kasane in his arms to soften the blow…Both falling into unconsciousness…
A day and change passed. And kirk's eyes slowly opened amidst a hospital or medical environment. A woman in skin tight and colorful leggings and shirt had her hands raised and hovering over Kirk, who was now clad in a pink floral hospital gown.
Her hands glowed and took shape of stars and hearts as she whispered and hummed a melody that was like crystal rings to the ears. Connected to kirks arm was a quite old fashioned glass IV drip.
"Agh…" He groaned. Hand coming to his forehead and feeling the cotton bandage wrapped around his skin. "Glass IV? Really? Dezzi's not gonna be too happy…" He whispered. Causing the nurse above him to tilt his head.
"Excuse me? What was that?" She asked in a distinct vocal fry.
"Oh- Sorry. Was just thinking to myself. What are you doing?" He asked, eyes finally catching the three dimensional shapes and colors that floated in the air.
"Oh this? Just some basic Melodic Healing. My family is one of the few who can actually accomplish it. Our-" But before she could continue. Kirk interrupted
"Your families specific soul and imagination are the only ones able to harness it?" The nurse recoiled. Surprised that he was so aware and in tune with how Maho worked.
"Yes. Thats exactly it how did you-"
"She wields steelamboon. Of course she'd know how to use Sorcery. And Weather Sorcery at that." Miku said. Her very noticeable tone catching the ears of those in the room "It's thought pretty often that Weather Magic is one of the hardest to actually learn. It's amazing that someone so young not only has steelamboon but also could cast incantations with only a single phrase…!" She said with a sense of awe and intrigue to her voice.
"One, not a girl. Just because I wear feminine clothes don't mean shit" He sneers. Typical Kirk Fashion "Two. You know steelamboon? But- It's super rare. The skyderians-"
"Tenshi? The Winged Ones? You know them?!" Rin asked in an excited ton "It's been so long since the Tenshi came! Oh my word, Their weather magic is still almost totally because of their work!"
"Wait! What?!" Kirk leaned up, eyes going wide as the fins twitched "You- You know Weather Magic?" His mind was racing. So many questions even the immediate idea that he didn't know where the rest of the crew was put in the back of his mind as the opportunity possibly get stronger!
"Yes! Atmosphere Island is actually one of the foremost islands in Magic and Weather Sorcery, and Atmospheric phenomena! Most of the leading research on weather is published right here!" Miku said pulling up a book that was, covered in many floral stickers and bedazzling "This is my personal copy…People on Mosphere sees weather as a big part of their culture."
"Just like we say! The Winds take us where we need and where the weather is most desirable!" Miku explained in an excited tone that caused her body to start glowing as the melody from her vocal twinges started to release energy
"Miku! Calm down! You're leaking all over the place…" Rin said. Much to the disappointment and pouting of Miku. Rin turned to face Kirk "You seem like your well versed in Weather Sorcery…But-"
"It may be quite difficult task if you're seeking to advance and learn. You're not only a outsider we don't know about. But you are also responsible for Kasane's injuries. What ever you did–" She sighed.
"It…Caused quite a bit of damage. Shes got fractures, bleeding and a bad concussion."
At the words. Kirks eyes narrowed and shrunk. Pain wracking through his chest as he could feel a pang and flutter in his heart…Be pulled his knees up to his chest and hugged them close. "What happened…" He whispered to himself. That slight lisp and cutesy tone persisting even when his voice was filled with layers of sorrow.
In a flash of heat and tension across his skull that was like a prodding firepoker, the memories flashed across his mind's eye. Immediately aware of exactly what had occurred.
Tears welled in his eyes…His full lips began to quiver as-
"Leroy….!" He streams flowed town his orange brown skin. The softness that lacked any scales like some other fishmen.
"Leroy?" Miku asked.
But a sound from across the room to a sliding shoji door made of pink cherry wood slid open. A large man in a suit with a black and red accented cape flowing behind him. His face covered by a small white domino mask.
"Tux! You're already here!" Rin said with a surprised tone. This Tux man was quite tall. A good 200 cm but with a leaner shape to him. His face was young but looks can betray. As he was already in his 40's
"Of course. One of our top Idols is hurt and a stranger is on the island. I've already heard the report that a Koi Fishmen mysteriously showed up and displayed weather magic and exception speed…" He walked across the room. His dress shoes clattering against the bright pink wood and gloss of the room. "And is now…Crying."
Kirk ignored him. Too many thoughts went through his mind. Unlike Leroy, whom thought the Crew were dead. He had a feeling deep inside that they were okay. But hurt and to far away for him to help them in anyway…
"Child.. Whats wrong? Please, tell me so that I may and this island can help you…" He said slowly sitting down on the edge of the bed. Reflexively, Kirk drew his feet closer beneath the thin blanket.
"My…My crew…I got separated from my crew…On Desamare…" He muttered. Mouth against his wrist. Eyes avoiding Tux.
"Your crew? Desamare? My word thats both an unfortunate but not uncommon happening for those that step foot on that island…Can you tell us what happened? In detail? Mosphere doesn't get the news too regularly…." He lowers his gaze and thinks
"The Typhoon that surrounds the island, the constant wind and insane wall of Atmospheric weather that surrounds the island keeps News Loos from coming in and out." Kirks intrigue and nature took over and mindlessly asked.
"How do you Navigate then?" He finally looks to Tux.
"We've got our own Ships that can ride Tsunamis and Typhoon currents. But its a long and hard process to learn or teach." Tux's hand came up to pull his mask from his nose. Revealing his piercing brown eyes.
"But…We do still get news." He pulls a paper from behind his back. "I apologize for playing Coy…Uh no offense." He said just incase
"None Taken…But Coy? Do you have the last two weekly issues of the paper?" He sat up more straight as his eyes were locked onto Tux then to the folded and rolled paper. Without thinking he snatched it. His eyes widening.
It was the same newspaper that had been spread just after Leroy landed on Cyprus Isle. Across the front. Was the word 'Fire Brand To Be Extinguished' the rest of the article speaking on the time and date of Eudora D. Azar's execution date…
"Whats today?" He sits up. Ribs stinging from the bruising. "December 23rd. Theres been papers releasing constantly. So much so we had a ship go out to catch the News." Rin added on.
"Thats not the only Paper." Tux hands Kirk another. This one having the story of Leroy's arrest and the public announcement that he had murdered a celestial dragon. In face. Right now at the very moments that Kirk read those words. Leroy's jail cell slammed shut on the level of Bliss.
"Oh my god…." He clapped his hand over his mouth. Tears continuing to flow. He flipped through the pages. Quickly his eyes snapping across the words. Reading that many think that Red Sash was purposefully caught. Others think that it was a reckless terrorist attack the brave marines had stopped.
"He's…Going to try to go after Azar…." He whispered.
"You think so? Why would Red Sash want to save an Emperors Commander?" Tux asked.
"Azar is his brother…" He revealed. Causing those in the room to take a step back. Astonished by such information. He then explained all that had happened on Desamare. From the Bondola to the Auction house, Zeke, the Harbingers, The Celestial Dragon that Leroy had murdered himself with his bare hands. The Escapees. Judice Island. The Ghetto. And how they were separated by condent…
"If…Leroy is Alive. Guaranteed the rest are too. Why would I be spared. The Captain be spared. When theres a bounty and notoriety to all of our heads." Kirk thought outloud.
But to the rest. They were yet again gobsmacked by the causal admission of not only murder but also freeing and liberating slaves.
"Seems your crew, yourself, and Mesophere have quite a lot in common." Tux began.
"How so?" Kirk asked
"A long time ago. The World Government and the Marines owned this Island. They deposed the Monarchy and declared the Island and Observation Island. It was overfarmed over worked and left to die except for the Town of Saka. The Entertainment of the traditional dances and culture here intrigued them."
"Lord Saint Takarazuka was his name. He bought tons of people. Resources. Formed these groups and commodified a bunch of the Idols. These Idols were seen as heroes. As celebrities. But because of him. Thats all they were. They weren't people that helped their communities. But were just, faces to sell tickets."
"Up until a few decades ago." He continued. "When the Angels came. They saw what was happening and…Using one of the few plants and crops that weren't dying to the droughts, Steelamboo. They utilized magic we thought was lost. The Manipulation of the Environment."
"Weather Sorcery." Kirk finished.
"Exactly. They drove the Celestials out. Brought back life to the Island. Its greenery. Its weather. It was almost perfect in what could reasonably be said as such…" Tux breathed a trepidated sigh.
"Until the Holong came along." Kasane said. Suddenly awake! But a simple had stopped them from worrying too much.
"After the celestials. We reclaimed out magic. Our culture. Our Music. We're Magical Girls. We use magic and song as incantations to transform ourselves and gain more power and manipulation over magic that we learn and have a deep personal connection too." She rested her hand upon her chest.
"But…There was a Group that preferred the old ways. When we had a king. And the men decided what to do. Believing that Saint Takarazuka was a true man that enforced his will and gave jobs to people, brought life to the island through song…" Her eyes closed.
"But those songs…Lacked magic. The islands magic began to weaken because of them, and now the Holong Want to bring that back. Its them that used weather magic to create the Endless storm….Hah…." She sighed deeply "I guess the only good thing is that now we have a far better understanding the Weather because of it…"
"Now. These Holong perform raids and attacks on the City of Saka. Have slowly been forcing their Magic on to the population. Stripping them of joy and freedom to empower themselves. We guess that it's a Haki ability and Magic behind it all…Their waves continue to affect more and more as their song infects the minds of those of the cities."
"I-I…" Kirk said exacerbated tone leaving his throat. "Is there anything I can do to help? I…I think…I can help. And if I help you. You'll help me get off this island and go back to my Captain!" He said. Firmly setting the conditions of his help.
"Yes…I think there is."
A full day passed. And the news came out that Azar had died. Murdered, or rather executed. By the Black Dragon Admiral. Kuroryu. The news spoke on Leroy as well. And said that he had broken out of Imperious Styx, the world most powerful prison, and launched an attack on Ingens Fortezella. Marine HQ along with the Captain of Azar, Avery Barbossa who was killed in action. The News, particularly by Sinclair, delivered it in the most 'Neutral' of terms. Which only resulted in more people finding it a victory and just cause because it not question the actions.
Kirk…Feeling the pain and sorrow of his Captain. Couldn't hold the tears back. The words from Tux and the Mirai Group…Couldn't continue. He couldn't listen to them.
But…At the end of the next day. Over a week after Desmare. Kirk did the insane.
Screams of Worry and caution echoed behind Kirk as he ran across the City. Its tall near futuristic glass, concrete and steel skyscrapers covered in neon lights and sound as he headed for the docks!
But they couldn't stop him…
Wind whipped, ice flowed, and rain pelted sideways as Kirk drove a shit through the turbulent waters! The small vessel bouncing an shaking against the black abyssal waves of salt water! It was so much water that it saturated his gills. And boosted his strength by two fold! Just as if he or any other fishmen were submerged!
He grit his teeth. Spun the wheel. And pulled hard against the counter acting force of the Rutter and sails! The Grand Storm, the same one that surrounded Meso, had every Weather phenomena acting at their peak power even in a concentrated 75 km area. Ice, Hail, Rain, Acid Rain, Snow, Tornadoes, Typhoons, Cyclones. All were in work against them.
RIP!
The Fabric of the sail shredded from a sudden bolt of lightning! The fire immediately extinguished from the sheets of rain coming down in thick layers! But kirk wasn't giving up!
He used the currents. The waves. The flows of water and their differences to carry and navigate the Ultimate Storm himself! Micro-turns on the wheel. Shifts in position. Pulling away from spots and allowing to be pushed by others.
He was determined to do one thing…
Get to Leroy.
'Zeke said that he was going to help Leroy! So if anyone knows where he is. Its him!' He looked down to his log pose. The leather strap tight against his petite wrist as the brass edged bulb and needle fluctuated. "Damn!"
'Log post is locking onto the Meso…Who knows how long how long it could take! Hrgh…Leroy! Why couldn't you have given us your vivre-' His eyes widened. Digging through his dirty pants. Pulling out a small piece of paper that said 'Zeke'! Zeke vivre card!
'Which was…Which way…he whispered as he looked down to the way the paper attempted to fight and move against the wind.
FWOOSH! The Vivrecard slipped out!
"Shit! No! Nooo!" He screams! Eyes scanning the air before snapping to the paper! In a flash that was like a meteor. He ran across the small distance, and leapt from the side! Cracking the wood as he leapt! Lighting streaking through the air and illuminating the dark storm as his hand tightens around the paper!
The next-
SPLASH! Water breaks and explodes as he pulled under the water! The undertow and currents of the sea thrashed him as he held the Paper close. His one way to get back to Desamare quickly! His eyes were shut tight…
Slowly…All around him the currents lessened. Became more manageable. Before totally still. Kirk suspected he was at the bottom of the sea. But when he opened his eyes. He realized the pressure wasn't right. He could see…Light! Rays of Sunlight piercing the azure surface and scattering in a beautiful refraction.
Breaking the surface! Kirk looked around. Not even a deep relieving breath was done. His instincts over coming his habits. A small sand bar sat only a few meters away…
His feet pattered against the sand and tall grass. Hands slowly opening with the carefulness of of a scientist pouring reactants. He saw that the Vivre card was safe…And it pointed South.
He collapsed to his knees. Relief washing over him…"Phew…."
Taking a moment. He took his clothes off to dry for a bit of comfort. Leaving him in his Swimsuit and bikini top. Petite body radiating against the warm suns rays as he laid on the ground…
This…Was where Kirk was down to the moment. When last seen. Reading the news paper that declared. Not 1 Week. 4 Years.
"No way…" He said. Looking over the Paper. Scouring it. Trying to figure out what it meant. It confused him. He read again and again. Read the article. It said that the Bell Ringing 17 times was a symbol of new beginnings and then of the old. Along with declaring war that would cause it!
"Wait…I- I think I get it…!" He said after minutes of deciphering. "I get it…Yeah. Yeah. I get it! Okay! If thats what we have to do!" He said a smile filled tears spread across his face
"Four Years…Four years…" He held the paper close to his chest. Like a stuffed animal threatening to be torn away. "Aye Aye…Captain."
Holding the paper tight. Kirk dove into the water, and reentered the Storm yet again.
He moved with enough speed that it created a dry pocket around his body as he thrust through the Water as if like a sail fish but far far quicker than that. He couldn't wipe the smile from his face.
After many a reprimand from who revealed himself to be the Head Prince of the Island, That Being Tux, and being explained that Princes and Princesses were not Monarchy terms but ones of Familiarity and the like and were elected positions by the most creative and magical of the groups to help those that arent; he was explained what was going to happen.
"So. You're gonna become a Magical Girl." Tux said. Kirk recoiling and shaking his head in confusion "Wh-What?"
"Yes we know you're a guy. But…I mean would you rather wear the dress. Or the others." Miku points at the variety of Dresses Some Frilly Lolita. Others More lowkey and easy on the eyes without a lot of accessory. Some were pants an Skirts. Others kept with the feminine theme of shorts and tight tops.
The Masculine were like suits and ties. Dress Shirts. Or what could be seen as casual fantasy or academia. Even the most relax didn't feel like Kirks style…
Even the Neutral ones that were tight shorts and loose tops or vise versa with muted or loud palettes didn't fit.
"Magical Guy, Or Magi in the case of Neutral or whateves." Miku shrugged.
"Yeah. Girl works. I don't really put to much stock in being called a guy or girl. I know im a guy and thats what matters. I'll wear what evers cutest, comfortable or hottest."
That got a few chuckles.
"The Majokko Corp, or the Witch Corp are the Protectors of the island. They are also the biggest icons and celebrities too." Tux began, he explained the following.
The Witches of The Island apply for the Position. And through test, gauging the respect and notoriety of the individuals and their actions where they came from. Had they put out impressive art? Fashion? Contributed to culture? Song? Music? Festivals? All of these were important in becoming a Witch of the Corp.
They also needed to have some form of Magic already. This was chosen through a variety of test to find what was easiest for imagining and manifestation of the person. Annihilation Type; Controlling Destructive Forces, Illusory Type; Creating Illusions or Temporary Manipulation of things. Manifest Type; to summon or create something rather object creature or thing that funnels an affect. And finally. Wielder type, a person who doesnt have a type but has Mana that can fuel premade objects ritual and effects.
The rare types were healing. As it relied on Rituals or using and absorbing the Injury and Pain of the patient or a variation of these ideas. Then there was Alteration. A type that focused on Permanently Transforming something.
The test was simple. Out of the following objects, which are typically used in Rituals and as Fetishes, which was easiest to be sensed when blind folded.
Rock- A person that was able to easy cast or use Enchanted Weapons or Objects rather than Creating them.
Feather- Illusory. A Person able to see the world differently or the like.
Needle- Annihilation. A person usually forward and brute focused or power.
Inkwell- Manifest. A Person usually deeply intuitive or focused on creativity.
Willow Bark- Healing. A Person with deep paternal, Maternal, self sacrificial or deeply aching person.
Antler- Alteration. A Person who would 'Scratch' the world around to leave a change.
Coal- Sorcerer. One who doesn't fit in a box. Much like a piece of coal can be a number of things. The shell of a diamond, fuel for fire, dust for art, fertilizer, or a weapon.
And of course. There were wands, funnels, rites and rituals, cultures of magic and the like. It all relied on want, imagination and focus, along with the usage of Mana, the combined energy of mental energy, physical stamina, and drawing in of Outside forces.
There was also…Sorcery. The Manipulation of all of these under a single Category or thing. Such as Fire Magic as a whole, Instead of Fire Illusion. These Magicians were rare. It required immense will, belief, and concentration of controlling and invoking these affects. Its often where those who create new branches of magic, rituals and the like fall into. Pioneers of Magic and the study of its affects.
"Sounds simple enough…." Kirk scratches the back of his head. Feeling as it was becoming frizzy and unkempt from the lack of products and hair care
"Thats…Not the only thing you'll have to do however…." Kasane began to speak. "You're entrance even if its not your faults…Does leave me out of commission. So I believe, the most fair way to go about it-"
"Is you gotta take my place! You gotta be out there singing, dancing, doing Witchery. And also all the communal work. Plus im sure it'll get you in the good graces of people after what they saw happen…."
Kirks eyes widened. His face dropped.
"Waht."
