C City, men's prison.
In a dim room that wasn't very large, eight beds were arranged; a man rested on each, of various heights and builds. The sounds of snoring broke the originally tranquil night, mixing with the stuffy air filled with the smells of sweat, feet, and body odor.
Mu Bai had been staying in such an environment for six months.
Initially, Mu Yizheng had used his connections and money to try to arrange a private cell for Mu Bai. In prisons in the USA, there are some private cells designed for specific individuals, such as corrupt officials and major drug lords.
Mu Yizheng wanted to spend money to get Mu Bai a private cell; he didn't want Mu Bai to suffer in prison. After all, the people in prison were not easy to mess with, and he was afraid Mu Bai would be bullied. The place was too filthy and dark, but Mu Bai had rejected the offer.
On the day he was incarcerated, he only took the clothes and toiletries distributed by the prison and didn't bring anything else.
