Yan Hui stood suspiciously at the kitchen door, watching Ming Wan make vegetable porridge inside, thinking that if anything went wrong, he'd rush in to put out the fire immediately.
But from start to finish, Ming Wan was quite skillful, and soon two bowls of vegetable porridge were ready.
Yan Hui smiled and praised, "I didn't expect your cooking skills to improve so much; it smells quite good."
Ming Wan paused for a moment, then said, "This is the only thing I can make; I can't even boil water properly, and no one else can make it taste like this, so I had to work hard to do it myself. Although it's not as good as yours, I think it's quite tasty. Have a taste."
There was clearly something else implied in those words. Yan Hui recalled how she looked at him when she was drunk that day, and he felt a bit uneasy, so he didn't respond.
"Come and try it, see if I have surpassed the master," Ming Wan said, frowning as she called Yan Hui, who was still standing at the kitchen door.
