Chapter 44 - Chapter 43 : Quality Time(2)

Yo! I am back with a new yet an unrefined yet a filler yet an interesting chapter, also support my webnovel "Can Regression Go Wrong?", why? Because it also has Wren in it. Yes, this Wren.

May the Abyss be with you!

-------------------------------------------------------

In a vast hall, there stood many pillars with deep gashes due to the work of a single blade, and in that very vast hall, sat a young man.

His smooth and silky white hair, with golden ends, flowed down his bare shoulders, which moved rhythmically in sync with his breathing.

"You seemed to be pushing yourself very hard for the past three months." A feminine and sharp voice called that young man out.

At her words, the young man chuckled.

"Maybe I am, but there was nothing for me to do, so secluding myself from the world to train seemed a good option." He said with a slight smile.

The young man then shifted his body and stood up, and looked at the beautiful lady.

A young woman with dark wavy hair and alabaster skin. She wore a loosely clinging black robe made out of soft silk, showcasing her figure.

Her eyes were as cold as the sharpest of swords. They were also of a strange, vibrant colour — bright red, the same as her full lips. With her alabaster skin and raven-black hair, she looked both beautiful and daunting, like a lethal blade.

But to him, she was the same beautiful princess he had met four years ago.

The young woman walked towards him, her movement slow and deliberate. As she drew closer, he realised what a beauty she was.

His gaze settled on her loose black robe. Due to their height difference, he had a slight advantage and could bless his eyes with....

"My eyes are up here..." The lady said with slight amusement, causing him to startle and look at her vermilion eyes immediately.

There was something about her and her vibrant vermilion eyes that demanded attention. The more he stared at them, the more he delved into that vibrance until she snapped her fingers in front of him.

"You know what, Wren? I think you need to breathe some fresh air." She said with a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes.

She turned around and began to leave the training hall, while Wren just watched her drifting away and away from him.

"Oh man, you just got here and now you are leaving...." He quietly muttered to himself. Wren could have just stayed here and practiced more, but he had to follow her for two reasons.

He was scared of Morgan, and it had been a damn time since he had seen the Waking World and breathed its dirty air.

'I guess I will meet Sunny, if I get my time.' With that thought, he hastily followed Morgan, who was about to leave the training hall.

As he reached her, Morgan tucked her arm under his own and said:

"I had heard from the recent reports about the Forgotten Shore, and the things you did there...Well, I want to meet this Smiling Witch, as everyone calls her." She said with a smile, but the coldness in her eyes told something else.

Wren, who was dense as osmium, shrugged off her intentions and answered in a vague way, which confused Morgan.

"I don't know, she just disappeared...I had tried to find her, because she can be a good asset for the upcoming war."

When he had returned from the dream realm, the rising friction between the two clans was reported to him by his teacher, and it wouldn't be long before the two clans bare their fangs at each other.

What a shitshow it was!

Here he was trying not to kill people, and then there was his clan pushing him to the edge; if it was possible, then he would have personally loved to meet his sovereign.

Though it wasn't possible because the cold-hearted king was busy with his measly plans, so... Wren decided to enjoy time with Morgan.

'Why waste time on that old coot, when I can enjoy it with a beautiful lady?' He thought while bidding her farewell as she returned to the waking world with the help of a saint who was her personal bodyguard.

On arriving at the altar of the Sanctuary of Noctis, he gave one last look at the beautiful scenery of his home and then placed his hand on the cold marble of the altar.

In the next moment, the darkness of the night was momentarily illuminated by a flash of ethereal blue light. When it dissipated, there was no one standing under the branches of the ancient tree.

Wren had left the Dream Realm and entered the Waking World.

Wren calmly opened his eyes in the nestling of the sleeping pod. The lid was already sliding away, and the lights automatically lit up, brightening the dark room.

Walking out of the sleeping pod, his feet moved toward his closet. Opening it, he took out a plain white shirt and black pants and put them on.

But for some reason, he smelled something foul.

"Is there something stinking her-" He paused and remembered that he hadn't showered for three months, so he immediately rushed into the bathroom to take a hot shower.

After several minutes, he walked out of the bathroom wearing a black bathrobe and then changed into his other clothes.

This time, he wore a wine red shirt, black pants, and a black blazer, followed which was black tie and black leather oxfords.

There was a reason for such clothing.

"I can't let her feel like an odd one out..." Wren muttered to himself, since Morgan's flaw basically cut everything except him, normal clothes weren't useful, and therefore, she mostly wore formal clothes made out of special materials.

It was simple; Wren really cared about her.

"Can't let myself look off..." He muttered while adjusting his fitting, taking one final look, he took the keys of his PTV and entered the basement of his mansion.

Unlocking it, he sat in the driver's seat. His hand settled on the steering wheel, and then he started the engine. The vehicle roared in fury as it marched out of the still-open shutter of the basement.

The soft leather of the steering wheel was soft to the touch, so much that Wren thought his hand was sinking into it.

While driving, he looked out of the window, lost in small yet important thoughts.

'I wonder where she is right now? I have been receiving a chaos fragment around every week, and so far, I have accumulated only sixteen of them.'

He shifted his head a little.

'Could it be she is in a death zone?' He wondered and wanted to give more thought to it, but he had arrived at his destination.

Parking the sleek, matte white PTV, he walked out of it. In front of him stood a club, with sleek golden letters saying:

Ark's Club Society

Reading the work, Ark sent a little shiver down his spine as memories about the dark version of him flowed into his mind.

Shaking the strange emotion off, he walked into the club.

Just as he entered the building, the sound of music entered his ears, and since he had become an awakened now, his senses had sharpened like steel.

It killed his mood slightly, but he entered the club anyway.

His first task was to find Morgan, which he did quite easily. Sitting alone on the first floor, drinking, sat the beauty.

Wren smirked

This night was going to be memorable.

With slow and deliberate steps, he climbed the stairs leading to her. On reaching it, he simply walked towards her and sat beside.

"You started drinking without me?" He sounded hurt, but Morgan remained the same, silent and cold.

She took a sip of her wine and then said:

"Then what was I supposed to do? Play hooky with those men down there, when you are coming this late?" She asked in a cold voice.

Wren didn't reply; he had an answer in his mind but chose not to say.

Morgan knew it too, but...

She was really mad.

He was late by eight minutes, although by normal standards this wasn't much of a time, but...she and Wren weren't normal people.

They were part of the Valor clan.

And her schedule was tight; each minute was as precious as the lives of many people, because each decision taken in this moment shapes their lives.

Morgan took a deep sigh and then swirled her arm around his neck, and said:

"Oh god, time has really changed, hasn't it? I remember the two of us sneaking into clubs and drinking alcohol with my credits, everything has messed up..." She paused and then said with a sweet tone.

"I am sorry, Wrennie, I hope you understand why this odious schedule of mine has been pulling my leg time to time."

At her sudden apology, Wren just laid his head on her shoulder.

He wasn't mad, how could he? From the time she had become an awakened, the elders and work have always been pressing her down, with duties and other bullshit.

Therefore, he couldn't worsen this situation by acting gloomy.

"How about we drown ourselves with drinks tonight?" He suddenly asked her, forcing a surprised expression on her face before...

It turned into a grin.

"I don't find anything wrong with it." That was all she had said, and just from this...
