I wanted to retort, but it was embarrassing, so I mumbled, "So… so what?"
"So what?" Her voice turned tender suddenly, as if she found me very likable. "You idiot! You won't survive that long."
I wanted to argue about what she meant by "won't survive that long," but then I remembered something Ling Ling said about male life expectancy—it's 20 years at most unless you're some kind of genius in cultivation.
I looked at her, and she seemed to understand that I knew this fact.
