While He Kui was still deep in thought, Sulei entered his radar room.
"What are you thinking about~?" she asked curiously, skillfully nestling into his arms.
"Earth and the Moon," He Kui replied simply, recounting the events that had just transpired.
"So, their target might not be the Moon after all?" Sulei frowned as she spoke.
"Exactly, but I haven't figured out where it could be yet."
"Or maybe it still is the Moon, though the likelihood isn't very high."
"Is that so?"
"Yeah, breaking through Ptolemy's Light Shield System is just too difficult."
"Even if they had the means, it wouldn't be worth it for just a piece of technology and a lunar base," He Kui explained.
"If their target is the mass driver, Orb's defenses at Kaguya are extremely tight," Sulei added, her playful demeanor now replaced with serious analysis.
Orb had built its Ministry of Defense near Kaguya, and the defensive measures there were even stronger than those in the capital. Launching an attack there would be no easy feat.
Sulei continued, "Victoria also has a light shield, but Kaohsiung is under East Asia's control."
"Would they really risk offending East Asia?"
If they directly attacked East Asia, the Atlantic Federation would be left with nothing but impotent rage.
Unless the arms dealers had infiltrated East Asia, but according to their intelligence, that possibility was nonexistent.
There might be some infiltration in certain regions, but overall, East Asia maintained strong control over its territory, unlike Eurasia, where half the country seemed to be out of their hands.
"We'll need to consult a professional for their opinion on this."
"Lacus?" Sulei's eyes narrowed slightly, a hint of jealousy surfacing in her heart.
"No."
"Lacus isn't exactly a professional in this area, is she?"
When it came to combat, Lacus wasn't necessarily the most knowledgeable. Her strength lay in politics.
"Oh~" Sulei didn't press further.
Instead, she gently planted a kiss on He Kui's lips.
Wrapped in the sweetness of the moment, He Kui's heart stirred.
By now, the Quantum Concealment communication technology had been developed.
However, his favorability with Sulei hadn't increased much recently, remaining steady at around 178.
He likely needed about 2 more points to unlock a new technology, but gaining those points was becoming increasingly difficult.
Before that, if he could manage to be with all four of them at once, he might unlock a new skill.
Being with Shihe and Sulei had unlocked the Z-Gundam, adding Meyrin had unlocked the Mark Knife, and including Luna might unlock a new Mobile Suit besides the Re-GZ.
The Hydroponic Pod was nearly ready, and it was time for him to pursue both paths simultaneously.
Research couldn't stop.
Of course, for now, he needed to figure out Creuset's plans. Otherwise, he wouldn't feel at ease.
As these thoughts swirled in his mind, He Kui's kiss deepened.
"Are you going to stay here~?" Sulei asked breathlessly after a long while, pulling away from his lips with a hint of dissatisfaction.
"Yeah."
"Will you come back for dinner later? We received a large shipment of your rice today."
"I'll try," He Kui replied with an apologetic smile.
"Hmph." Sulei shot him a glare, but after another round of affection, she left the radar room like a spirit rejuvenated by his energy.
After calming his restless heart from the earlier intimacy, He Kui turned his gaze towards Amenomihashira.
Although Erica hadn't given him a response yet, his access to Amenomihashira had somewhat loosened.
It seemed Erica was planning to make a deal with him.
However, there was a possibility that Orb might use this to blackmail him once his identity was confirmed.
Therefore, the technology he provided couldn't be identical or even similar to that of PLANT.
This was something he needed to be careful about.
Seeing Cagalli still talking to Erica up ahead, He Kui quietly took a step back.
Having no obstacles along the way, he quickly arrived at the port where the Archangel was docked.
"Hello, I'm looking for Badgiruel."
He didn't have the authority to board the ship, so he could only ask a soldier stationed at the entrance to relay his message.
"Ah, may I ask who you are?"
The soldier was momentarily taken aback by the child before him.
"An advisor to Lady Cagalli."
As he spoke, He Kui raised his hand, displaying the emblem of the Asuha family.
As an advisor, he mostly worked behind the scenes, so it was normal for many people, except for the higher-ups, not to recognize him.
The reason he was looking for Badgiruel was that, as a military family member of the Atlantic Federation who had repeatedly witnessed the darkness within the Federation, she might know the Federation's next moves.
"My apologies!"
Upon confirming his identity, the soldier assumed Cagalli wanted to see Badgiruel and was about to report when someone appeared behind He Kui.
"Captain Yamato!"
The soldier stopped and saluted.
"Xiao Liu? Why do you want to see Badgiruel?"
Kira returned the soldier's salute humbly before curiously looking at the child before him. He hadn't expected to see Cagalli's advisor upon returning from work.
"There's something I'd like to consult about."
He Kui's voice carried a hint of laughter, and upon hearing this, Kira slightly frowned. Just as he was about to say something, the metal door of the Archangel slid open.
"Kira~ why are you so late?"
Appearing before them was a girl with fiery red hair, who scolded Kira before noticing the child at the door.
"Little one, who are you~?"
Flay looked much better than her previously sorrowful and haggard self, even her demeanor seemed less willful.
She appeared radiant, and seeing this, He Kui couldn't help but feel admiration for Kira.
Kira really had it together, managing to bring someone to Amenomihashira so quickly. He wondered if it was a peaceful breakup with Sai, or maybe they weren't even a couple yet? Or perhaps they were having an affair... just thinking about it was thrilling.
"He's Cagalli's advisor, Xiao Liu."
"This is Flay, also a crew member of the Archangel."
Unaware of He Kui's thoughts, Kira introduced the two.
"Such a cute advisor~"
Flay crouched down affectionately and pinched Xiao Liu's cheek.
There was no trace of the willful and capricious girl from the memories of the storyline.
"What brings you here, Xiao Liu~?"
"Looking for Badgiruel."
"Then I'll take you to her~"
Upon hearing this, Flay's expression became even more familiar.
It seemed like she was quite familiar with Badgiruel.
But then again, their voices had a similar tone, so it wasn't too strange that they might easily become familiar with each other.
While pondering this, Flay had already taken Xiao Liu's hand.
"Then I'll take this child over first~ Kira, wait for me in the room."
"Ah, okay."
Kira smiled gently, but his gaze lingered on Flay and Xiao Liu for a moment, feeling a bit uneasy.
Why did it feel like he was being cheated on?
But it must be just a m
isunderstanding, right?
After all, Xiao Liu didn't have the ability to do something like that to him.
He must be too tired.
Kira shook his head and then followed them into the Archangel.
