Her heels hit the floor of the company lobby. Avery didn't need anyone to direct her to Alex's office. Before she could enter the elevator. A sigh left her lips. She'd missed this place. She looked around. This company holds a lot of memories. Before she could enter the elevator, which would send her to Alex's office, someone spoke behind her.
" Well, well, well. Isn't it Alex's secretary? What are you doing here?"
Avery tilted her head to have a clear view of the peasant talking. She scoffed when she recognised her.
" Birds of a feather do flock together. How are you doing slut?"
" What did you just call me?" the female employee shrieked
"You heard me? Should I repeat myself?"
" Veronica shouldn't have left her position for a worthless being like you."
The lobby was dropped in silence. Avery let out a sinister smile.
" I would remember what you just spout. Just prepare yourself. Thanks for wasting my time. "
Avery entered the elevator- however, she stared at the woman standing in front of her. She was going to make her regret what she had just said.
She walked straight into Alexander's office. She eyed her office which wasn't far from his. She chewed her cheek. She raised her chin high and walked past it. This wasn't the time to reminisce over the past. She had a mission.
The knob twisted as she pushed the door open.
"I'm here," Avery said.
Her eyes widened when she realised that Alex wasn't alone in his office.
" Hello?" she greeted the men with a smile.
They furrowed their brows and turned to look at Alex. His relaxed expression made the men furrow their brows harder. Avery waved the file as she walked towards Alex. She was going to take her mini revenge. He was going to be angry with her.
"Baby," Avery said. She raised Alex's chin and smiled at him.
" What are you doing, Avery? I'm in the middle of a meeting."
Avery turned her gaze and looked at the men in the room. She raised herself and pushed his chair back before sitting on his lap.
" So? I brought your file." she leaned against his ear and whispered;
" I would like to start something with you in this office. What do you think?"
Avery caressed his chest with her fingers. She knew Alex hated it when his meeting was interrupted. With this, she could get into his nerves and end everything with him.
Alex cleared his throat. He positioned himself comfortably on his seat. He wrapped his hand around her waist and pulled her closer.
"Anything for you, wife?"
Alex shot the men with a cold look and snapped
" Meeting adjourned. Dave will continue with it."
It took a while before they could react to what they were witnessing.
" I don't like repeating myself." Alex snapped.
The men left the chamber swiftly.
" That was quick?" Avery murmured.
Alex chuckled. He turned her face to him.
" What did you want to try in this office baby? The room and I are yours."
Avery flushed. She wasn't expecting the men to just leave. She cleared her throat and rested her hands on his chest. Her plan had backfired.
" I have things to do and I.. brought your file."
She tried to pull herself from his grip but Alex tightened it.
" I thought you wanted to start something, baby?" he whispered in her ear.
He rubbed his nose against her cheek.
