The wind howled high above the unfinished skyscraper.
Nightwatch walked across the narrow steel arm of the construction crane as his boots tapped quietly on the rusted metal, one steady step after another.
His digital binoculars were still focused on the black luxury car far below.
He zoomed in to snap pictures in bursts.
The license plate, the driver, and most importantly… the man sitting beside Martha.
"I don't get it…" ╮(￣ω￣;)╭
He lowered the binoculars and placed his hands on his hips as the wind pushed his hair back.
"Okay, I won't lie — she did mention something about a guy she's been seeing…"
He paced along the crane's beam.
"But… well, like… she could've at least told me she's got freedom from—"
He paused with a very bitter face. (⇀‸↼‶)
"Oh, right… I did kinda cuss her out a while back. So yeah, that's fair."
He stopped walking and stared blankly down at the swarm of cars.
His pale reflection glowed faintly in the glass of the crane's steel cabin.
