"Crazy Attack Style?" Chris muttered as he read the designation, giving it a nickname in his mind.
While he understood the concepts of Single-Strike Style and Rapid-Strike Style, this new Crazy Attack Style was unfamiliar territory. What exactly did it mean?
However, Chris was far more interested in the moves that the Urshifu had gained after evolving.
A Urshifu that evolved into Single-Strike Style would learn the exclusive move "Wicked Blow," while one that evolved into Rapid-Strike Style would master "Surging Strikes." But this Crazy Attack Style had obtained—
"Wait, why are there three moves?" Chris's eyes widened in disbelief.
The Dark-type Martial God Strike, the Water-type Thousands of Cascading Strikes, and the Fighting-type Infinite Chaos Form—all three were new techniques that Kubfu had acquired upon evolving into the Crazy Attack Style Urshifu. After examining each move carefully, Chris confirmed they were all exclusive techniques.
This was completely unexpected.
It appeared that the Urshifu had truly absorbed the martial arts wisdom contained within both the Dark Scroll and Water Scroll, then integrated them into his own fighting style to create original Dark-type and Water-type special moves!
Following this logic, the Fighting-type exclusive move called "Infinite Chaos Form" must be the true signature technique of the Crazy Attack Style Urshifu. Chris also noticed that unlike the other evolution styles, the Crazy Attack Style hadn't gained an additional type—it remained a pure Fighting-type Pokémon.
Meanwhile, Mustard stood beside him, still carefully observing the Crazy Attack Style Urshifu, walking around it in a circle and examining it with obvious amazement.
"Let's head to the backyard and have it demonstrate the exclusive moves it developed during evolution. That way we can properly determine what style it represents," Mustard suggested with enthusiasm.
Chris had no objections to the proposal.
The two trainers, along with their three Pokémon, quickly made their way to the spacious backyard, where training dummies made of wood stood ready as potential targets.
However, Mustard took the initiative and proposed that his own Rapid-Strike Style Urshifu serve as the target instead.
He wanted his Urshifu to personally experience the new techniques firsthand. That way, if Chris ever wanted to train another one in this style, Mustard's Pokémon could serve as an instructor during Chris's absence.
The two Urshifus positioned themselves and prepared to begin the demonstration.
Chris glanced over the three exclusive moves displayed in the status screen. Since this was such a rare opportunity, he decided they should test all of them.
"Start with Martial God Strike," Chris commanded clearly.
"Howl!" The Urshifu responded with vigor, immediately dropping into a proper fighting stance.
Unlike the Single-Strike and Rapid-Strike Style Urshifus, who telegraphed their exclusive moves with obvious energy buildups, Chris could confirm his Crazy Attack Style Urshifu was activating its technique, yet there seemed to be no visible energy fluctuations in the surrounding area. It was as if the attack hadn't even begun.
However, as the target of this technique, the Rapid-Strike Style Urshifu sensed imminent danger.
Through its refined Aura abilities and years of honed battle instincts, it detected a terrifying aura—like standing at the rim of a volcano and sensing it was about to erupt.
The Rapid-Strike Style Urshifu raised both arms, activated "Protect," and assumed a defensive blocking posture.
In the next instant, the Crazy Attack Style Urshifu vanished from sight and reappeared mid-air directly in front of its opponent. The attack resembled a Jump Kick identical to Mega Blaziken's devastating signature move, "Blaze Kick."
It became clear that this Martial God Strike was indeed a technique that Chris's Urshifu had learned and adapted from observing his trainer's other Pokémon, reimagining the master's special move in a new form.
With a thunderous "BOOM," the strike connected with the Rapid-Strike Style Urshifu's blocking arms.
"CRASH! CRASH! CRASH!!!"
The Rapid-Strike Style Urshifu was instantly launched backward like a missile, smashing through the rock wall behind it and disappearing from view, leaving only a gaping hole that Chris and Mustard could only stare at in stunned silence.
"The nature of that move felt exactly like Single-Strike Style!" Chris exclaimed.
"The type should be Dark, but it's not an explosive Dark-type burst like Single-Strike Style. Instead, the Dark-type energy is concealed and compressed, then concentrated before detonating," Mustard observed with his expert eye. Even though the attack had been fleeting, he managed to analyze numerous details.
Chris nodded in agreement, because the effect description of Martial God Strike was identical to Wicked Blow's characteristic—"it always results in a critical hit!"
However, after analyzing the Crazy Attack Style Urshifu's technique further, Mustard looked somewhat shocked and muttered under his breath, "Why does it feel like this attack embodies the Single-Strike Style philosophy even more than the original?"
After all, from the perspective of pure destructive power, when using equivalent energy, Wicked Blow's energy release technique couldn't match the compression method employed by Martial God Strike. Furthermore, Martial God Strike was far more difficult to detect.
"I suggest that the style your Urshifu created could be called the Sure-Kill Style," Mustard proposed seriously. The Sure-Kill Style represented a philosophy that could guarantee a one-hit knockout even more reliably than Single-Strike Style.
"Hold on, let's test the next move first," Chris interjected.
"Huh? Next move? There's another one?" Mustard looked utterly confused.
"Well, Kubfu observed two different scrolls before evolving, remember? So it didn't just comprehend one exclusive move," Chris explained.
Mustard was speechless.
Could someone really learn an exclusive technique just by looking at a scroll?
His own Urshifu had also studied both scrolls extensively. Why couldn't it understand them?
When the Rapid-Strike Style Urshifu returned from the distance, looking somewhat battered, Chris commanded his Crazy Attack Style Urshifu to begin testing the second exclusive move.
"Use Thousands of Cascading Strikes!"
This time, there were finally visible signs of the Crazy Attack Style Urshifu's attack preparation.
Dark clouds gathered above the backyard, creating an atmosphere similar to the move "Rain Dance." Water began rippling across the ground beneath their feet, as if a spring was constantly releasing moisture from below.
The Crazy Attack Style Urshifu stepped forward and slowly advanced toward the Rapid-Strike Style Urshifu. Each step through the water seemed to echo in everyone's hearts, creating psychological pressure.
Momentum suppression?
Chris recalled how Zeraora had previously pressured the Rapid-Strike Style Urshifu during their battle.
It seemed this was the technique recorded within the Water Scroll.
When the Crazy Attack Style Urshifu approached its opponent and slowly raised one fist, the Rapid-Strike Style Urshifu suddenly felt as though it was being targeted by countless simultaneous attacks. Its entire body tensed, unable to find any opening or safe position.
In the very next second, when the Crazy Attack Style Urshifu threw its punch, countless fists formed entirely from water materialized out of thin air, completely surrounding the Rapid-Strike Style Urshifu.
The Crazy Attack Style Urshifu unleashed a full 360-degree assault with absolutely no blind spots, attacking with endless fury from every conceivable angle!
