"Energy Gathering Spiral Aura Sphere!"
Greninja launched the Aura Sphere from its hands with practiced precision.
The Aura Sphere traced a graceful arc through the air as it flew toward the large tree standing several meters away. During its flight, the visible aura energy rotated and spun, creating visible currents in the air around it. The sphere continued to absorb Aura power from its surroundings as it traveled.
By the time it reached the target tree, the spiral Aura Sphere had tripled in size! The swirling airflow surrounding the massive sphere made it look like an enormous grinding wheel, with the spiral Aura Sphere embedded at its center like a jewel.
"BOOM!"
A thunderous explosion echoed through the area as the tree erupted where the attack struck. Thick smoke billowed outward, covering a radius of more than three meters in gray clouds.
This technique differed greatly from ordinary Aura Sphere attacks enhanced with spiral energy, which typically created a penetrating effect. The structure of this Energy Gathering Spiral Aura Sphere remained inherently unstable throughout its formation and flight.
The attack functioned more like a volatile bomb ready to detonate at any moment. Any external force that disrupted the internal spiral structure of the Aura Sphere would trigger an immediate explosion.
When the smoke from the blast finally cleared, at least ninety percent of the entire tree had been completely destroyed. Only the underground root system remained intact, though even those showed severe burn damage from the intense heat.
The destructive power proved quite impressive.
"By abandoning the penetrating effect of the ordinary spiral Aura Sphere, we essentially give up the refined control that makes the technique precise," Chris observed, stroking his chin thoughtfully as he analyzed the move Greninja had just demonstrated. "The result is a wide-area explosion attack instead."
"Additionally, the Aura Sphere continues to change and grow stronger during its flight. This particular technique triples the Aura power based on the distance it travels before impact."
Chris considered both the strengths and weaknesses of this new approach.
The advantages were clear: the technique required relatively low skill in controlling Aura power, yet delivered tremendous destructive force. Even Pokemon who hadn't achieved deep mastery of Aura manipulation could potentially learn this version of the attack.
However, the disadvantages were equally apparent. The unstable structure that exploded upon contact made it vulnerable to being intercepted or blocked by an opponent's defensive moves before reaching its intended target.
Overall, Chris felt quite satisfied with these results.
Having different variations of Aura Sphere available for different battle situations significantly expanded the attack options available to his team. This versatility could prove crucial in future battles.
The Aura Sphere technique Greninja had just performed represented Chris's practical application of the skills recorded in "Applications of Aura Power," a valuable text he had obtained from the Fang family's extensive library.
However, Chris understood that knowledge written in books remained merely theoretical until tested in practice. Rather than blindly trusting written authority, he preferred to have his Pokemon learn and practice each technique individually, carefully verifying whether the actual results matched what the books claimed.
The spiral-based Aura Sphere condensation method Chris had developed wasn't considered particularly advanced according to the Fang family's historical records. Many Fang family trainers throughout generations had focused on "spiral" techniques as their primary Aura specialization.
After dozens of generations of accumulated knowledge and experience, their exploration of spiral-based techniques far exceeded what any individual pioneer could achieve alone. Therefore, Chris now followed in the footsteps of these predecessors, moving forward step by step with much greater confidence than his earlier cautious approach of feeling his way through uncharted territory.
Nevertheless, Chris studied each technique with meticulous care and attention to detail.
Only by thoroughly absorbing the accumulated experience of previous generations could he extract the maximum benefit from their knowledge. Chris never intended to simply imitate or perfectly copy the techniques of his predecessors. His goal was to learn from their achievements and then surpass them entirely!
He would follow the path established by previous masters, but then extend that path even further with his own innovations and improvements.
For an entire month, Chris had practiced Aura-based moves in this special location where the concentration of Aura power exceeded the outside world by more than a hundred times. Every Pokemon in his team that possessed Aura talent could improve their abilities at an incredible pace, as if their progress had been accelerated dramatically.
The improvement wasn't necessarily reflected in their basic level advancement, but rather in their enhanced control over Aura power and their ability to manipulate larger amounts of this energy. These improvements indirectly strengthened the physical capabilities of his Pokemon as well.
This effect proved especially noticeable for Chris himself as their trainer.
Furthermore, with abundant Aura energy saturating the air around them, Pokemon expended significantly less physical stamina when practicing Aura-based moves. This allowed them to increase the number of training repetitions substantially.
If Pokemon moves could be measured in terms of proficiency points, then Chris's team would undoubtedly be gaining proficiency in Aura techniques at an extraordinary rate.
"The next step will be combining the Golden Flying Water Shuriken with the Spiral Aura Sphere technique," Chris instructed Greninja as they prepared for the next phase of training.
Just as Chris was setting up the next practice session with Greninja, someone suddenly used a Hyper Voice move to deliver an important announcement that reached every person within the Aura secret realm.
"The Aura Secret Realm will be closing in two hours! Everyone must gather at the realm entrance immediately!" The message came from the Fang family's designated announcer.
"The Aura Secret Realm is closing already?" Chris felt surprised and quickly calculated the time that had passed.
Indeed, it was approximately the right time for closure.
The opening schedule of the Aura Secret Realm remained unpredictable - sometimes it opened once per year, other times once every two or three years. However, its operational duration followed a relatively consistent pattern.
Each opening typically lasted between one month and one and a half months.
Not counting the initial time required for the Fang family to stabilize the realm's dimensional boundaries, Chris had indeed spent more than a month inside. This particular opening had lasted longer than usual.
"Wait, I still need to deliver the Pokemon food to Mew!" Chris suddenly remembered that the specially crafted Pokemon food he had prepared for Mew remained in his bag.
Throughout the past month, he had been regularly feeding the legendary Pokemon.
Knowing he would have to leave the Aura Secret Realm after a month, Chris had been using his portable Pokemon food maker to create as many food blocks as possible during his stay.
His plan involved making as large a supply as possible, then teaching Mew to use Ice-type moves to preserve the food properly.
With proper preservation, the supply should last for an extended period.
Perhaps Mew would have enough food to last until Chris could return to the Aura Secret Realm again.
However, after searching throughout the Aura Secret Realm for more than an hour, Chris still couldn't find any trace of the elusive Pokemon.
"Where did that little guy disappear to this time?"
Chris felt genuinely puzzled. Normally, whenever he entered the area around the Tree of Beginning, Mew would appear on its own initiative to greet him. Where could it have gone today of all days?
"I guess if you decided to disappear right now, you'll have to blame your own bad timing," Chris muttered with resignation. With only thirty minutes remaining before the Aura Secret Realm's closure, and the Fang family members repeatedly urging all visitors to gather at the exit, Chris had no choice but to use multiple Teleport moves to quickly leave the Aura secret realm.
The timing couldn't have been worse, but Chris had exhausted his options for locating Mew. He could only hope that the legendary Pokemon would be fine on its own until the next opening of the secret realm. With a final glance back at the Tree of Beginning, Chris teleported toward the realm's exit, his month-long training session in this extraordinary place finally coming to an end.
