"Boss, there are intruders at the entrance to the base," Izumi reported to Archie.

Archie looked up at the monitor with narrowed eyes.

A Garchomp easily slashed open the reinforced gate with its sharp claws and charged inside. The trainer followed closely behind.

Wherever they passed, Team Aqua members fell like wheat before a sickle, completely powerless to resist.

"It's him?" Archie immediately recognized the intruder—Chris.

He vividly remembered the man who had defeated Maxie.

"Bang!" The surveillance camera shattered, and the monitoring screen dissolved into black and white static. It was Chris's Gardevoir who had sensed the prying eyes and destroyed the surveillance device with Psychic.

"Boss, I'll stop him! You should evacuate!" Shelly jumped to her feet, ready to intercept the intruder.

"It's alright. There should be a witness for this grand event, and we should offer opportunities to talented trainers," Archie replied calmly. Looking sideways, he observed a group of scientists making final adjustments to the Dive machine.

There was still some time.

"I'll meet him personally."

"Dragon Claw!"

Garchomp's Dragon Claw effortlessly tore through the reinforced gates. Before its razor-sharp claws, these so-called impenetrable barriers were no stronger than paper.

"Keep going!" Chris followed behind Garchomp, clutching a treasure detector in his hand.

A solid steel bar on the treasure finder indicated that it had locked onto a legendary Pokémon item.

Chris could think of only one such item in Team Aqua's base—the Master Ball.

After traversing a long corridor, they suddenly faced a wall.

A dead end.

"Dig!" Chris commanded loudly.

The only drawback of the treasure detector was that it didn't adjust for terrain—it simply pointed straight toward its target. Chris had no choice but to continue directly in that direction.

When they encountered gates: Slash. When faced with walls: plow straight through.

Game mechanics like finding the correct path or using teleporters? In reality, those could be ignored completely by applying brute force!

Chris suddenly understood the satisfaction Lance must have felt when ordering his Dragonite to blast through walls.

If you have the strength, you can do whatever you want.

Garchomp extended its claws and ripped the wall open, creating a large hole.

Behind it appeared to be a research laboratory. As Garchomp breached the wall, a terrified whimper echoed through the room.

"Th-there are intruders!"

"Gardevoir, Hypnosis!" Chris snapped his fingers.

Gardevoir, who had been protecting Chris closely, immediately teleported into the research room.

Afterward, Chris heard a series of "thump, thump, thump" sounds as bodies hit the floor.

When Garchomp passed through the hole, Chris followed behind.

The enormous laboratory was brightly lit. More than a dozen researchers lay scattered around, all hypnotized by Gardevoir's power.

Following the guidance of the treasure detector, Chris quickly located his target.

A Poké Ball—white on the bottom half, purple on the top, with purple-red accents on the sides resembling insect compound eyes, and the letter "M" emblazoned in the center.

Without a doubt, it was the Master Ball.

Chris picked up the Master Ball and immediately stuffed it into his bag.

Then he examined its attributes.

Master Ball: A special Poké Ball with a 100% capture rate for wild Pokémon.

Seeing this simple yet powerful description, Chris couldn't help but take a deep breath.

Would the Kyogre versus Groudon storyline activate after he finished raiding both Team Aqua and Team Magma bases?

"Don't give me the opportunity to encounter you in the storyline, or you'll all be bearing my last name soon!" he thought.

After calming himself, Chris checked the dungeon objectives. He'd been so focused on using the treasure detector to locate the Master Ball that he'd forgotten to read the mission parameters.

[Dungeon Objective: Defeat Archie, leader of Team Aqua]

[Secondary Objective: Defeat all Team Aqua members. Task reminder: 32 targets remaining]

[Dungeon Time: 120 minutes

"Defeat all Team Aqua members... an hour and a half should be enough time..."

But he had been cutting straight through walls, likely bypassing many Team Aqua members along the way.

...How unfortunate...

"I'll need to return to the original entrance first, then proceed systematically."

Chris found this rather troublesome.

Suddenly, he remembered a technique involving Psychic that he had learned from Josh, a senior Pokémon investigator during his time with the investigation team.

"Gardevoir, Mega Evolution!" Chris raised his arm, displaying his Key Stone bracelet.

Colorful light flashed, and Mega Gardevoir emerged.

"Gardevoir, use Psychic for wide-area reconnaissance!"

"Nah~" Mega Gardevoir clasped her hands in front of her chest. A purple psychic aura immediately enveloped her body, causing her to float upward. In the next moment, an invisible wave emanated from her form, spreading outward in all directions.

Confusion, Psychic, and mental power were essentially three different names for the same energy. But they also illustrated the triple nature of this ability.

Confusion manipulated objects; mental power interfered with minds; Psychic was both a general term and representative of the versatility of these abilities.

Compared to types like Water, Fire, and Grass, Psychic-type moves definitely possessed the most versatility.

Moves like Teleport, Future Sight, Power Split, and others showcased this versatility.

Reconnaissance also fell within the Psychic category.

By reducing the power of Psychic and spreading it outward in layers, all objects enveloped by the psychic energy could be perceived.

The stronger the Psychic power, the stronger the control, and the larger the area it could cover.

By triggering Gardevoir's Mega Evolution, Chris aimed to enhance her special attack capabilities and utilize Psychic to its fullest extent.

Chris had tested it before—Mega Gardevoir's Psychic reconnaissance had a maximum detection radius of 10,000 meters.

"Nay!" Mega Gardevoir descended slowly, having already scanned the entire layout of Team Aqua's base in mere moments!

"Perfect. Take me to the nearest Team Aqua member—let's defeat those minions first, then find Archie!"
