Chapter 20 - Blood Fangs

"This little punk, you think you can intimidate us just because you know some tricks?" one of the lackeys sneered.

Azrael's expression remained unchanged. "I think you misunderstood. I'm not here to intimidate or threaten you. I'm here to finish what you started."

"Stop hesitating, you idiots!" another lackey shouted. "He caught us off guard earlier, and he's just a kid! Get him!"

The four lackeys charged, but Azrael moved faster. In an instant, he vanished, only to reappear behind the first man. His scythe sliced through the air, cutting across his arm. The lackey yelped, dropping his weapon, clutching the wound.

Before they could process, Azrael was already gone again. The second lackey spun around, but Azrael reappeared, his scythe grazing his side. He staggered, collapsing to the ground.

The third lackey swung wildly, but Azrael was already behind him. A deep gash appeared across his side, and he fell with a scream.

The last lackey who shouted earlier that azrael is just a kid backed away as his eyes wide with fear. "Please, don't kill me, I was wrong" he begged, his voice trembling. "We won't bother you again. Just let us go."

Azrael didn't answer. He disappeared once more, his movements a blur. The last lackey's weapon was knocked from his hand before he could react. Turning around, he found Azrael behind him, a cut across his chest.

"ACKKKKKK" the lackey scrempt in pain as his hands shaking holding his chest.

Azrael stop and walked towards him, footsteps heard, "Was it nice to hear a voice of a person begging?" Azrael asks coldly, as he points the sycthe at him.

"Speak, who's albert. If you don't want your head to fly" Azrael said

"He's our boss, the boss of blood fangs"The lackey said in fear and pain

"so is he your boss or he has his own boss too?" Azrael asked

"He has his own boss too.." the lackey said

"ohh, so his last name isn't Piettrroo?" Azrael asked

"Yes" The lackey said

"But do he knows where his boss is?" Azrael ask

"No, only the right hand knows who he is" The lackey said

"Hmmm, but does your boss knows where the right hand man is?" Azrael asked again.

"We only met him twice, we also don't know where he is" the lackey said

"That's unfortunate, all that talk for you and your boss to be useless, but I will still need your presence" Azrael said, as he summoned three skeleton warriors

All the lackeys are in complete shock to see monsters being summoned

"Look out for them, but don't kill them, if one of them escapes you three will not be resummonned again" Azrael said while the skeletons look at the four lackeys

Azrael stepped back, gazing coldly to the defeated group, without any words, He activated Soul Traversal, vanishing from sight. The lackeys, broken and trembling left with the skeletons watching them, could do nothing.

----

"BWAHAHAHA! Are you kidding me? That brat is naive as hell!" one man said, laughing loudly.

"She doesn't even know we're just ripping her off," another added with a smirk.

"But seriously though, she'll eventually catch on that we're not doing anything. We might get in trouble," a third man said, sounding a bit more cautious.

"Relax, what could a mere child do to us? HAHAHAHA! And besides, the one she wants to find is the boss of the Blood Fangs. It's like finding a needle in a haystack. We just have to act like we're exhausted and tell her we couldn't find him because he's too slick. Even the imperial guards can't do anything—what could we possibly do?" the first man scoffed, letting out another chuckle.

"Well, to be honest, I also want to find the leader of the Blood Fangs. The guild's reward alone is tempting, and we'd get an additional reward from that girl too," the second guy said, rubbing his chin.

"Yeah... Hey, don't you think that little girl might be some kind of noble?" the third guy asked as he gathered his thoughts. "Think about it—she's been paying us for almost half a year now, and with the amount of money she's handing over… Just now, she gave us 20 gold just to find the Blood Fangs' leader. Last month, we got at least 17 gold. She's been consistently giving us a huge amount."

"Pfft, who cares if she's a noble?" the first guy scoffed. "Like I said, if the imperial guards couldn't do anything about the Blood Fangs, then what could mere hunters like us possibly do?"

As they walked and talked, they suddenly bumped into someone.

"Ah, that f*cking hurts!" the first guy grumbled. "Hey, kid! Watch where you're going!" he added, glaring.

The kid turned out to be Azrael.

"Ah, sorry, I wasn't looking properly," Azrael said, bowing slightly.

"Tsk, what a nuisance," the first guy muttered as he and his gang walked away.

*(Hmm… those guys... They were with Eli earlier.)* Azrael thought as he watched them.

*(I should just go now.)* With that thought, Azrael activated **Soul Traversal**, shifting his vision to search for his parents.

-----

Eli, who was walking, ran into Azrael's parents.

"Eli, how are you? What happened with your errand yesterday?" Azrael's mother asked.

"Ahaha—everything went fine, nothing to worry about," Eli replied with a smile. While her attention garners to Azrael's father.

"Ahh, okay, okay. By the way, my husband and I are buying some food. Do you want anything? I'll get it for you."

"No need, ma'am. I'm actually in a hurry—private matter, haha." Eli chuckled.

"Ohh, but no worries. I don't know if you'll like this or if you're allergic to it, but here, take this. We'll just buy another one later," Azrael's mother said, handing over a wrapped food item.

"Oh, it's okay, really. I'll be leaving soon anyway," Eli politely refused.

"Come on, Eli, just take it. Otherwise, I'll get upset," Azrael's mother insisted.

"Ahaha—alright, alright. Thank you so much," Eli finally accepted.

"It's nothing. Now, go ahead before I delay you any further," Azrael's mother said with a warm smile.

"Thanks again. I'll get going now," Eli said, but before leaving she looked to Azraels father again and bowed.

"Sir!, this was very late of me to do, but I was very grateful for you when you risked your life for me back when where trapped in the forest.

Without your help, I wouldn't be here alive and well" Eli said

"ahh, no need no need, any sane person would do the same, if a child is asking for help." Azrael's father replied

"I'll be taking my leave now" Eli said as she walked away, Azrael's father turned to his wife.

"That girl seems nice, doesn't she? But I can't help but notice her expression… She seemed uneasy or sad," he observed.

"Yes, I noticed it too. But we can't help her if she doesn't open up to us. For now, it's better to give her the space she needs," Azrael's mother replied.

Just then, Azrael approached them from behind without them noticing.

"Mother, Father, what are you doing here?" Azrael asked.

"My son!" his father exclaimed.

"Oh my! Azrael, you startled me for a second. We're just buying some things on our way to the inn while also visiting an old friend of mine. It's fortunate you found us. Let's go there together," his mother said.

"But first, let's buy some food," his father added.

The three of them went around, finishing their shopping. Once done, they boarded their carriage and eventually arrived at a small wooden house, about the same size as theirs. Azrael thought it seemed like a normal household.

Skkikkk (The sound of the horse's hooves as it came to a stop.)

"Azrael, we're here," his father said as he stepped down.

"Here, hold this and give it to your uncle when he opens the door, okay?" his mother instructed, handing him a pack of food.

"Yes, Mother," Azrael replied.

They walked up to the door, and his mother knocked twice.

"Eric? Letisha? It's us, Alice and Azir," his mother called out.

The door opened slightly before fully swinging open, revealing a man and a woman inside the house. Azrael assumed they were Eric and Letisha.

"Oh my! Alice! How long has it been?!" Letisha exclaimed excitedly, rushing to hug Azrael's mother.

"Letisha, Eric, I'm so happy to see you again!" Alice said as she returned the embrace.

"But how did you know we lived here?" Letisha asked.

"Ahh, well, earlier, we asked a guildmaster about your location because I saw a piece of paper with your name on it. Luckily, the guildmaster trusts us and told us where you are," Alice explained.

"Wow, Alice, you've grown even more beautiful! I've missed you so much, my friend," Letisha said as she continued hugging her.

"My, my, who's this handsome young man? Is he your son?" Eric asked.

"Oh my, Alice, I didn't know you had a child! Why didn't you tell us?" Letisha added, finally breaking the hug.

"Well… We never had the chance to visit since we've been living in a village far from the kingdom," Alice explained.

"Where have you been all this time?" Letisha asked.

"We've been living in District 7," Alice answered.

"What?! No wonder you couldn't visit—it's too far from the kingdom!" Letisha said, shocked.

"By the way, where's Azir?" Eric joined the conversation.

"Oh, he's just finding a place to park our carriage," Alice replied.

(Now's the time to butt in too,) Azrael thought as he stepped forward.

"Here's a gift from us. Please accept it," he said, handing over the food they had brought.

"Aww, what a sweet child! Alice, I'm so jealous!" Letisha gushed.

"Wait, you and Eric don't have a child yet?" Alice asked.

"What? No… Actually, we did have one, but..." Letisha's face suddenly darkened, her smile fading.

"Wait… What happened?" Alice asked, sensing the change in mood.

"Uhmm… Perhaps you two should go inside. I'll go get Azir so you can have time to catch up," Eric said with a sad expression.

(This is odd… Why do they suddenly look so sad?) Azrael thought as he hesitated.

"I want to stay with Mother," Azrael suddenly said.

"Ahh… that's…" Eric hesitated. "Uhm, okay. I'll go ahead and fetch Azir then."

As Eric left, Azrael stayed beside his mother.

"Alice, come inside. I'll prepare some tea," Letisha invited them.

Azrael and his mother followed her inside.

"Uh, Letisha… I don't mean to be nosy, but what happened?" Alice asked gently.

Letisha's face turned sorrowful again as she prepared the tea.

"I'm sorry—I shouldn't have asked. If you're ever ready to talk about it, you can always open up to me. I'm still your friend," Alice reassured her.

A tear slipped down Letisha's cheek as she poured hot water into the cup.

"I once had a child," Letisha said, her voice heavy with sadness.

(Had?) Azrael thought.

"He was a bright boy—the best a parent could ever wish for. We loved him so much, no matter what," Letisha said.

---

Eight years ago, at Maggie Kingdom's Central Plaza…

"Jay, do you want that cake?" Letisha asked.

"Y-yes, Mother! Please, can I have it?" Jay eagerly replied.

"Hmm, I don't know. Have you been a good boy lately?" Letisha teased.

"Ah—uhm…" Jay was left speechless.

"Haha, stop making that face. Of course, you can have it," Letisha laughed as Jay's face instantly lit up with excitement.

"We'll take one, please," she told the vendor, handing over the money.

"Thank you, Mother!" Jay beamed with gratitude.

"Haha, now, now, you can only eat a portion today. Too much sugar will ruin your teeth," Letisha reminded him.

"Aww, but okay… Still, thank you, Mom!" Jay said.

"Now, let's go home—it's getting dark," Letisha said, holding his hand.

VIIIIISHHHHHU—BOOM!

An explosion suddenly erupted out of nowhere. The plaza was thrown into chaos as people screamed and ran for their lives.

VIIIIISHUUUUUU—BOOM!

"What is that?!" Letisha tightened her grip on Jay's hand as panic spread around them. She quickly picked him up and ran.

A glowing fireball shot across the sky.

"Mother, what's happening?" Jay cried out as she carried him.

VIIIIISHUUUUUU—BOOM!

A fireball crashed into a nearby building, causing it to collapse. The falling debris was coming straight at them.

Letisha's eyes flashed as she instinctively stopped the debris mid-air.

"Aghhh!" She grunted, struggling to hold it back.

"Jay, run! I can't hold this for long!" she urged.

"Mommy!" Jay sobbed.

"Listen to me, Jay! Run and wait for me there! Don't worry, your mother is strong!" she encouraged him.

Jay wiped his tears and followed her command, running ahead.

Letisha let out a strained scream as she slowly backed away, trying to lower the debris safely.

VIIIIISHUUUUUU—BOOM!

A fireball suddenly struck her directly, sending her flying. The debris collapsed onto the crowd below.

Jay saw everything and ran back to his mother.

"Mom! Mom!" he cried, trying to wake her up.

A burn marks to her side is clearly seen, who's Letisha slowly regains her consciousness while Jay is begging for his mom to wake up.

"ah.... " Letisha grunted as he endured the pain with her eyes closed.

VIIIISHUUUUU-BOOM!

Another fireball struck a nearby building, causing it to collapse.

Suddenly, a deafening thunderclap shook the air. In the distance, chaos erupted as fireball magic clashed violently.

Letisha's eyes snapped open, and she quickly got up, her son watching her with concern.

"My son, i'm okay don't worry, we need to run now" Letisha said, gripping his hand tightly.

The burn marks on her skin slowly faded as her mana mended the wounds.

Letisha and her son ran through the crowd as they saw, in the distance, two figures fighting.

One held a sword coated in a lightning aura, while the other, wearing a black robe, shot fireballs at him.

"Mommy, what is that?" Jay asked, clearly scared.

"We need to get out of here fast," Letisha said.

As they were running, a suffocating and ominous aura sent chills down their spines.

"Citizens of the Maggie Kingdom, rejoice, for we have come to cleanse your souls," a man in a hooded black robe said as he walked slowly, accompanied by a group wearing the same attire.

"Who are you guys?" a man confronted.

"We are simply the messengers and executioners of our God, here to help you know Him better," the man answered.

"Whose God are you referring to?" another man confronted.

"The God of Sins… He will cleanse our souls and purify them so that we are not led astray and lost. But first, you must see Him to believe. Please do not resist, for we only want you to witness the beautiful and loving God of Sin!" the hooded man said before stopping and removing the hood from his head. "So why don't we see the world through our God's eyes, so we may live an eternal life for Him?"

"Blasphemy! The God of Sins is one of the ten demons who tried to destroy the world!" the first man shouted.

"I will not tolerate any disrespectful behavior against our God, or else—" the hooded man said but was interrupted.

"Or else what?" the man challenged, his hands glowing, ready for a fight.

In the blink of an eye, a screeching sound echoed—

**Shiiiikkk**

"Ugh..." The man could only utter a sound as blood poured from his mouth, a black blade thrust into his stomach out of nowhere.

The powerless people in the plaza panicked and scattered, while those with magic powers stayed to fend of the black hooded groups.

A total of 10 people they ready for battle.

"Let me handle them myself. Don't interfere," the black-hooded man said. As the blade who was thrusted to the mans stomach banished out of thin air.

The black-hooded leader stood at the center of the town square, surrounded by the ten who stood their ground. They had no choice.

The two swordsmen took the lead, their aura-coated blades humming with power as they lunged forward. The wind mage amplified their speed, while the fire-twin dagger wielder flanked from the side as the blades ignited while he closed in the gap.

From the backline, the fire mage woman unleashed a stream of flames, the water mage summoned a crushing wave, and the rock swordswoman dashed forward with stone-infused strength. The buffing mages enhanced everyone's power, speed, and endurance, while the healer needs to keep them alive.

It was a perfectly coordinated assault.

But the leader didn't move.

Instead, his black-bladed sword hovered behind him, unseen, waiting.

The first swordsman swung his glowing blade toward the leader's neck, but the black sword intercepted it mid-air, moving on its own. Sparks flew as the two weapons clashed, but before the swordsman could react, the floating sword twisted and slashed upward—cutting through his ribs. The healer quickly to react healed it quickly to mend the wounds but the blade moves upward while it's in the man's chest, with a excruciating pain the swordman shouted, the healer tried her best it could to minimize the fatality of the attack, as the blade withdraw.

Blood sprayed as he stumbled back, eyes wide in shock.

The second swordsman followed up, swinging his blade with all his enhanced might.

But the leader's sword had already moved very quick, it curved around him and stabbed through his spine from behind.

His legs gave out instantly. He collapsed, gasping as he bled out on the floor. The healer who's trying to save the first guy is overloaded o who to help first as two out of the ten are already in their dying state.

The wind mage roared, summoning a cyclone around the leader to immobilize him.

"Now!" he shouted.

The fire mage unleashed a concentrated inferno, the water mage shaped it into a scalding steam blast, and the fire-twin dagger wielder vanished in a blur, aiming for the leader's blind spot.

The combined attack engulfed the leader entirely.

But before they could celebrate—a shadow flickered inside the flames.

The black blade shot out of the fire very fast, piercing straight through the fire mage's heart.

Her spell died in an instant.

As her body collapsed, the flames twisted unnaturally, reversing direction—heading straight for the wind mage.

The wind mage barely had time to put up a shield before the flames engulfed him. His screams were cut short as his body turned to ash.

The fire-dagger wielder barely managed to dodge, but the leader's sword moved like a ghost, tracking him effortlessly.

He tried to block—but the sword phased through his daggers and stabbed him in the stomach.

He coughed up blood, staggering.

The healer rushed forward, golden light swirling in her hands to mend his wound.

But it was a mistake making the black robe leader to notice her.

The leader's gaze shifted to her.

Without warning, the floating sword vanished from sight.

The healer froze, sensing something.

Then—SHIIIKKK

Her eyes widened. The black blade had impaled her from behind.

She gasped, blood dripping from her lips. Her hands trembled, still glowing with healing magic.

The leader walked up to her, watching as her light flickered.

"Waste, you can't save them" he murmured.

With a flick of his hand, the sword twisted inside her.

Her body crumpled.

With the healer down the last four became hesitant. Fears clearly drawn in their faces.

"what's wrong?, you all tried to act as heroes- but miserably fails" the black robe leader provoked.

"You two, boost me," the rock swordswoman commanded, gripping her sword.

The buffer mages poured their remaining energy into her, enhancing her strength, speed, and endurance beyond human limits.

"it will just be futile" the black robe leader said

She shot forward, her blade moving faster than the eye could track. The leader finally stepped back, his sword darting in to parry.

But this time—she was keeping up.

Her strikes cracked the stone beneath them as she pressed forward, pushing him back with sheer force.

The fire-dagger wielder recovered, joining the assault. He darted around the battlefield, with his boosted agility he launched rapid slashes from unpredictable angles.

For a moment, it seemed as though they are finally keeping up.

Then—the black blade vanished again.

The rock swordswoman froze.

Then blood gushed from her side.

The sword had reappeared inside her abdomen.

Her strength left her as she collapsed to her knees.

The leader tilted his head.

"Not bad."

Then—a clean slice through her neck.

Her head rolled across the ground.

As the two buffer became horrified.

The fire-dagger wielder snapped.

With a primal roar, he dashed forward, feinting left before vanishing entirely—reappearing behind the leader.

He stabbed—straight through the leader's chest.

For the first time, he landed a hit.

But—there was no blood.

The leader's form shimmered like a mirage, it's a decoy!

A whisper was heard by the fire wielder.

"Too slow."

The floating black sword appearing out of thin air from the fire-dagger wielder's back.

He gasped, looking down at the blade protruding from his chest.

Then—the sword yanked itself out, and he collapsed.

The last two—support mages—stood frozen in fear.

As there are no more people in plaza is left.

They had given everything.

And it still wasn't enough.

They turned to run.

The leader sighed.

His black blade disappeared.

For a brief moment, silence fell over the battlefield.

Then—SHHHIIIIKKK!

The first buffer felt something sharp pierced trough his chest.

He looked down—the sword had reappeared inside him.

The leader didn't even look at him as he flicked his fingers.

The blade ripped out violently, severing his spine.

The last buffer fell to his knees, trembling.

"P-Please… mercy…"

The leader finally looked at him.

Then—a clean slash to the head, joining the rest in death.

Dead bodies lay motionless, the fight earlier was just a mere distraction for them, because other civilians had already escaped the plaza.

"I hate when someone, interferes the will of our God" the leader said and added "but we need to hurry before the royal knights came for us.

------

Letisha ran through the panicked crowd, escaping the plaza with her son, as her wounds had now completely healed through mana.

She arrived at their home, but Eric wasn't there.

"Eric?—Eric, where are you?" Letisha called out, but no one answered.

Jay checked the rooms, looking for his dad too, but he wasn't there.

"Mom, Dad's not here. Where is he?" Jay asked.

Letisha approached Jay and knelt so their faces were level.

"Stay here. I'm going to look for your dad. I'm sure he's out there looking for us too," Letisha said while caressing his head, trying to comfort and reassure him she would be okay and come back.

"Mom, please be safe and come back quickly with Dad," Jay said.

Letisha stood up and stepped outside, searching for her husband as she walked hurriedly, scanning the area while people murmured in fear about what had happened at the plaza.

"There were terrorists at the plaza! They killed so many!"

"Stay inside! We're under attack!"

"Where are the kids? Find them quickly!"

All these voices filled the air as people scrambled for safety while Letisha grew more worried about Eric.

She found herself back at the plaza, now ominous and silent like a ghost town. No one was in sight, only lifeless bodies scattered on the ground.

Voices echoed from the center of the plaza. A group of hooded figures was kneeling, performing an incantation.

"Virex malthur, seval nocturne,"

(I call forth the shadows, guardians of the night,)

"Kareth dul'mor, venath silurne,"

(Let the veil of purity shatter, revealing the hidden sins,)

"Ostel varun, drakar el'neth," (Open the gates to the forgotten, where darkness dwells,)

"Valthor ek saren, nihil vornak,"

(Let all light be consumed by endless void,)

Letisha spotted the leader from earlier, standing with his arms raised while his followers knelt, mimicking him with their hands up. In front of the leader, a flickering flame burned.

They chanted in a pattern—first the leader, then the followers. Horrified, Letisha quietly hid behind a corner, watching them.

"Serath volnur, kethra malignis,"

(I summon the weight of guilt, bound in eternal chains,)

"Zareth malor, venas luxor,"

(Cleanse false light, let only shadows remain,)

"Felkar dominus, voren tal'ash,"

*(Master of corruption, arise from slumber,)*

"Nerath kelmor, vathis rilan,"

(Seal the truth in darkness, where no soul may find it,)

"Exum verath, silen tor'vax,"

(Purge the heart, leave only the hollow shell,)

The flame before the leader grew larger, forming ominous eyes within a circle of fire.

(They're summoning one of the Ten Demons… I need to get out of here) Letisha thought, her heart pounding. Suddenly, a suffocating aura sent chills down her spine as an unknown figure grabbed her shoulder from behind.

"Vorath nel'kira, malthis endorak,"

(Let sins manifest, taking form in the void,)

"Kelthar vexul, sarin dom'var,"

(Bind the soul in the cycle of endless torment,)

"Noctem vel'thur, inanis kor'vak,"

(Call the eternal night, swallowing all hope,)

"Velkor thanis, mortem sul'ren!"

(And in the end, let death reign as the final sin.)

As the final words echoed, the fiery eyes glowed, now coated in a black aura. The once-yellow flame turned into a dark, swirling inferno.

"Hahaha! Behold—the undying flame of sins!" the leader declared, a twisted smile on his face.

"Let me go, you demon!" Letisha shouted, struggling as the cultist dragged her toward the center of the plaza.

"Who is this woman you brought?" the leader asked as Letisha was thrown to the ground before him.

"Leader, I bring a sacrifice. Use her to strengthen the Flame of Sins," the cultist said, bowing low.

Letisha looked up in terror as the dark flame loomed above, her heart racing, knowing she had to find a way to escape.

"Very well, bring her closer to begin the sacrifice" The leader said

The unknown cultist stepped forward, reaching for Letisha with a sinister grin. His gloved hand shot out, grabbing her arm as he tried to drag her closer to the dark flame.

"Get your dirty hands off me!" Letisha growled, her eyes narrowing.

The cultist ignored her threat, pulling harder—but then Letisha's eyes flared, glowing with a white light. The ground trembled slightly as a force pushed against the cultist, lifting him into the air.

"What the—?!" he gasped, struggling as Letisha's telekinesis wrapped around him like invisible chains. With a sharp flick of her wrist, the cultist was hurled across the plaza, crashing into a pile of debris with a sickening thud.

Letisha stood up, her hair flowing wildly as the energy around her surged. She raised her hand again, lifting pieces of broken stone and metal into the air, preparing to strike the other cultists. They scrambled back, surprised at her sudden power.

She launched shards of stone toward the remaining cultists, cutting through their ranks like arrows. Another cultist charged at her with a dagger, but Letisha's telekinesis pinned him mid-air, twisting his arm until the dagger clattered to the ground.

But just as she was about to finish him, a dark blur moved behind her.

Shhhiiiik!

A sharp pain shot through her back as the leader's black-bladed sword pierced her side. It sent a paralyzing jolt through her body. Letisha gasped, her glowing eyes dimming as she faltered. Her knees buckled, and she fell to the ground, trembling.

"Enough playing" the leader sneered, withdrawing the sword out with a gesture of his hand.

Letisha could barely move, her body numb from the shock. The leader turned to the cultists. "Bring her to me."

Two cultists rushed forward, grabbing Letisha by the arms as she weakly struggled, her vision blurring.

But before they could make another move

BOOM!

A sudden blast of freezing wind swept through the plaza, turning the edges of the plaza buildings brittle with frost. Shards of ice shot forward, piercing several cultists.

"ACKKK!" several cultists groaned in pained as they are impaled with ice shards

From above where three figures landed in the center of the plaza as cold winds billowed upon them.

When the cold frost settles the goes a young man with short, icy-blue hair and piercing silver eyes at the front while holding his staff glowed with a faint blue light. "Step away from her," he ordered, his voice calm.

Behind him, a girl in heavy armor slammed a massive yellow shield into the ground, sending a shockwave that pushed other cultists back. The shield glowed brightly but flickered between radiant yellow and ominous black, as if absorbing nearby energy.

and lastly beside them stood another young man with gentle features, his hands glowing with a soft green light as he looked over the scene.

"Cultists" she declared as she hefted her shield despite of it's massive size, "Demons of this world, you will be cleansed and executed by our hands"

The mage raised his staff. "You've gone far enough with this ritual."

Without wasting a second, the shielder charged forward, her shield expanding to twice its size. She slammed into the cultists holding Letisha, sending them flying like ragdolls as they crashed into the ground, She quickly covered Letisha's frail body with her shield.

She knelt beside Letisha "Don't worry. We'll protect you now, Lukas quick and heal her" she said with her firm voice. With the healer Lukas quick to mend her wounds.

The cult leader's eyes narrowed, gripping, as his black-bladed sword floats around him, with the three royal knights of the Maggie Kingdom stood before him.
