Noe Jin lounged across the tatami mat, resting his head on his hand with a soft smile of absolute serenity on his delicate features. The light of a few candles spread about the room casting long shadows against the painted screens that did little to hide them from view if anyone were to enter.
The rich sound of the daegeum washed over the room, but Noe's deep, blue eyes trailed over his lips blowing softly into the end to create the gentle, soothing tone that he knew Noe preferred; his hands that could so easily shift from heavy field labour to fluttering across the length of the flute with dexterous movements; and at the strands of ebony hair that had escaped the messy bun at the nape of his neck, trailing across his collarbone.
