Till and Ezra made their way back through the compound in silence.
Along the way, Till scooped up a disgruntled Apollo who was prowling back and forth at the entrance to the underground garage.
He leapt onto Till's shoulders.
Already too large to perch on top of them as he used to, Apollo wrapped himself across them, his long, striped tail curling around his neck.
He proceeded to glare at him out of the corner of his round, green eyes as if to say, 'What the fuck took you so long?'
When they reached the visitor barracks, Till entered his small, windowless room of plain simple furnishings, his face still faintly flushed with residual embarrassment and allowed Apollo to jump down from his shoulders and onto the bed.
The door closed behind them with a quiet thud and Ezra sighed tiredly, "Till..."
