Orion shook his head. He knew what Marina was hinting at, but the time wasn't right.
"To erase a people, first erase their past," he said, his voice quiet but hard as iron. "To harvest their faith, first chain their bodies."
While Marina, Sel, and Lumi mulled over his words, Orion crossed his arms and looked down at the public square. Jarex, Slagor, and the others were in the middle of a public tribunal. There, who had fought to the bitter end were either beheaded by Sever or hanged from gallows, their executions a brutal spectacle for the surviving natives of Sunset City.
"My goal isn't the Godforsaken Land itself," he continued, his gaze unwavering. "It's the population. A human population loyal to me and to our Stoneheart Horde. Before that can happen, we have to empty them of their history and grind their culture to dust. They will start from zero."
In that moment, Orion was the very image of a Demon, calmly outlining his grand strategy to enslave a nation.
