Under the flickering glow of the temple's torches, Areyos, Kaiser, and their cousins toiled at the chores assigned by Sensei Kasuma. The cool mountain air carried the scent of damp stone. Kasuma entered the grand hall where Lord Dezeil meditated before the origin fresco. Barrios and Zendal, seated on wooden benches, looked up.
"Lord Dezeil, I gave your grandsons their tasks as you requested," Kasuma said, a smirk playing on his lips.
"What tasks did you give them?" Dezeil asked, his deep voice echoing in the hall.
"Laundry and sweeping," Kasuma replied, his smirk widening.
"With the seven-thousand-ton brooms?" Zendal asked, raising an eyebrow. "That explains why they had to transform to lift them. What about Eli, Seyca, and Jenny?"
Kasuma stifled a laugh. "What are you talking about, Zendal? It wasn't Areyos or Kaiser who transformed. It was Eli."
"What? Eli?" Zendal exclaimed, jaw dropping.
