Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The Place Only We Know

[One Saturday]

As i was taking a stroll around the city, i really noticed the old buildings that became a big structure in the distant future. The coffee shop which was my favorite place to go is still here. Somewhere around 8 years ago this was demolished due to bankruptcy and was replaced with a convenience store.

It was quite a disappointment because their coffee were undoubtedly the best. I guess you can call it underrated? It wasn't really appreciated much back then.

"Huh? isn't that Christine?" I said as i spotted Christine sitting near the window seat while i looking at the coffee shop.

Guess what? I approached her of course!

"Hi!"

I spoke through the window with a sparkling eyes. She was indeed lovely with her yellow dress that seemed like it was made from the sun.

"Oh, hello. " She replied in a cold voice like always.

"It's fancy meeting you here, do you occasionally get a coffee?" I sat down next to her.

"I guess you can say that, my friend recommended me this café before, and i began to take a liking to it." She smiled a bit and that made me admire how beautiful the ice queen was.

What could've happened? Why do i not have any memory of her in the future? It's strange.

" I sometimes visit here... The coffee here is really good and it somehow helps clear up my mind." I talked but she didn't seem that interested at all.

"Is that so? cool" In every sentence that comes out of her mouth, it was like a blizzard. But i understood why she was like this at first. She wasn't the type who's friendly with boys but she sure is popular with them because of how beautiful she was.

I remember that in this date, a month from now, i learned that her father passed away due to a severe brain injury resulted from a car accident. She was absent for a week in class.

I knew that she was breaking down but back then i couldn't do anything for her..

I've made up my mind. I will make a change in this timeline.

"Hey, after you're done, can i show you something?" I strongly asked her with determination.

"Uh, yeah sure, i guess." She replied but i was happy with the answer she gave.

A few moments later i took her somewhere. A place where only we knew. Or the place only i know for now because i only showed it to her a few weeks after we fell inlove.

A dazzling place where birds chirp in rhythm, where the wind blows so warmly and where you can find a field of flowers striving so beautiful across the land. And next to that is a big tree.

"It's pretty.." Christine said as her eyes lit up a bit.

I smiled at her and said "You're the first person i showed this place to"

"And why did you even do that?" She smacked me in the head because she thought i was dumb.

"I'm not worthy seeing something as beautiful as this." I looked at her as she gazes on the birds flying along the skies.

Christine had a terrible childhood. Her mother died due to health complications caused by an unknown disease when she was five years old. And her father did not have much time for her because of how much he focused on his work in order to make a good future for his daughter which explains why she's cold towards boys.

"I just thought that if you were the one i took here, you'd appreciate it." I looked at the sky.

She looked at me and then lowered her head to her knees covering her face.

I knew what this meant, she was embarrassed.

"Thanks"

She thanked me while continuing to hide her face.

The ice queen is having a hard time expressing her feelings lol

A few moments later, she fell asleep while laying on the grassy ground. She seemed like she haven't been at peace and comfort for a long time.

It was so peaceful and silent so i was bored so i tried singing a certain song that came to my mind.

While i was singing it, Christine slowly began to woke up and she grabbed me.

"How do you know that song?" She asked me while she was in a serious tone.

The fact that this song was his favorite song that was sang to her by her later mother slipped my mind.

"Oh, i hear it quite a lot from old folks and i thought that it's really beautiful."

"...." She was speechless.

"That song was the one that my mom used to sing to me when i was little.. it remained my favorite and everytime things are hard for me, i listen to that song." She said as she had a look of sorrow on her face.

"Is that so.." I placed my hand on her head in a patting way out of habit.

She was shocked and thus she took my hand and threw it away.

"Crap.. I-I'm sorry! I unconsciously patted your head! I'm really sorry!" I cried out for forgiveness.

"You pervert..! " She said as she smacked me back to back.

"... you're a strange guy." She said as she looked at me angrily.

"How am i strange?" I asked her back and looked her way.

"I can't explain how but you're strange." She stood up.

I only looked at her with confusion.

"You didn't feel like an stranger." She replied.

Who knew that just being here would make her feel strange.

Spending time with her again here made me think of what really happened in the future that made me forget about her.. It became a big issue so i had to find out.

When the sun came down, i brought her to the nearest bus stop so that she could go home before it gets too dark.

"Thankyou.. " She mumbled as i see her off.

"Hmm? Did you say something?" I said because i couldn't hear her.

"Thank you for showing me this" And she smiled at me.

That right there was a genuine smile from the ice queen guys!!

I smiled back.

"See you on monday! Take care on your way home!"

I shouted as she boards the bus.
