Hearing the strange feral cry which pleaded Agni to save it, Agni felt a little bit strange. It was a tickling feeling in his nerves, like he had been given a shock and the electricity was still raining inside his body. The feeling was not good in the least, but it was of desperation. Desperation so emence that Agni, for a moment left the quest and just started to walk towards the voice which was calling him in hurry. He just couldn't care about the quest now.
Agni first started to walk, but after a while of doing that, he started to feel nauseous and he started to run in desperation which was increasing every second. Agni continued running and he soon realized that he had been heading to the forest back where he met Kris and the other soldiers. Just to be a little safer, he activated the fire wings spell and wrapped them around himself.
After wrapping his body, he continued his path and the voice sounded once again, "save me, save me!".
Hearing the voice again made Agni ran faster than before and his whole body was covered in swet, not by running, but desperation which suddenly started to vey on him like a mountain and started to exhaust him mentally, which made his speed slower, and in turn, increased his anxiety.
Agni kept running until he reached very deep inside the jungle then he stopped, and looked around him. Infront of him, stood and hut, or what should've been the remains of one. And in the remains, laid a greyish creature. A creature which was releasing an aura of pride. Agni could clearly feel that the creature was weakened, and if he so wanted he could kill it with his flames but seeing the creature still had his pride left Agni in dismay.
"why would someone show pride when they have nothing to back them up?" this was the question in his mind and a week Wisper answered it for him when he was not expecting any.
"because a king should live with his pride and die with his pride." The voice was horse and week, like of someone who has not spoken for a long time and it seemed that only speaking took a lot out of him.
Despite it's week appearance the creature stood up, standing on all his four's and looked up at Agni.
"I have been waiting for you, the phoenix chosen." The creature continued in his monotonous but domineering voice—"and before I'll tell you why I called you here I must thank you for your patience for bearing with me. But I must ask of you for another help; one you must do…" the creature continued." Do you know who I am?" the creature asked Agni in the same tone he spoke to him, and it's fangs were on full display. They were shining like diamonds.
It only took one second for Agni to gather his thoughts and he said, "you,.. you are his majesty the werewolf king. am I correct? Your majesty?"
The creature had expected Agni to ponder over his identity for a little bit more before blurting it out. But it never expected that the kid in front of him will only take a second to guess, and not only guess, but also guess correctly.
"great, truly great. I am impressed that my friend had not made a bad choice to choose you, but now let's move forward to the main thing shall we,"
"I have called you for one thing. I am looking for a successor, the one who inherit my legacy and the one who will help my kind to vaige war on the humans. As you are one yourself, you must find it strange why I have called you here instead of finding someone else who is more stronger than you but everything will come to light when the right time will come. Until then, what do you say to my proposal and I must warn you to be quick, because I have not much time left." The werewolf king asked Agni in an almost pleading tone instead of his domineering one.
After listening to the king, only one thing came to Agni's mind. It wasn't the thought of accepting or declining, but it was of, " why me?"
