Kev led Nick down to the second floor, to the lounge where Jun and some other new faces were sitting.
"Goal! Sucker. Pay up," one of them said, facing the large television displaying football players celebrating with a gamepad in his hand.
The young man opposite him looked like the youngest amongst them. He grumbled and put his hand in his pockets to take out some cash.
"I pay up when I lose, but you say I make us play again when I win. This shit ain't fair..."
"The bet is to lead with two goals to win, not win an end-game penalty shoot-out. How many times will I have to explain this to you?!"
"Guys, this is Nick. The new recruit," Kev introduced after walking into their midst, with his palm on Nick's shoulder.
"Good morning, everyone," Nick said, studying their faces. Including Jun, there were a total of six people sitting at the lounge, and they all resembled hardened criminals—except the youngest-looking goon.
