**

Three figures slowly emerged from the black mist. Among them, one person was dressed in a black robe, his face plain and unremarkable, making him look like an ordinary individual.

Yet, it was this seemingly ordinary figure that, at this moment, caused most of the people present to hold their breath, their gazes filled with solemnity and dread.

The Chief of Hall of Souls!

This infamous overlord whose ruthless reputation shook the entirety of Central Plains now hovered silently in the sky. His gaze was as motionless as that of a meditating old monk, without the slightest fluctuation.

"Chief of Hall of Souls."

Both Mo Yu and Xiao Yan slightly narrowed their eyes, their gazes locking onto that figure. After exchanging a glance, a trace of solemnity surfaced in their eyes.

As Mo Yu observed the Chief of Hall of Souls, the latter seemed to sense his scrutiny. He slowly turned his head, his emotionless eyes sweeping over the two of them. After a brief moment of examination, his indifferent voice rang out.

"I never expected the Lei Clan to give birth to a divine-grade bloodline descendant. Furthermore, the fallen Xiao Clan has managed to produce such a talented individual… It seems that my Hall of Souls has been negligent."

"It is not the Chief's fault. This is merely our incompetence," a voice respectfully answered from behind the Chief of Hall of Souls. A figure slightly lifted his head, revealing half of his face—it was none other than the Deputy Chief of the Hall of Souls.

"Two future calamities… they will become our great threats," the Chief of Hall of Souls continued in his usual monotone voice, ignoring the Deputy Chief's response. His voice remained eerily steady, making it sound both strange and unsettling.

Hearing this, the Deputy Chief opened his mouth but then turned his gaze to the silent figure beside him, chuckling dryly. "No matter how strong those two brats are, they can't possibly surpass the Young Clan Leader. There's no need to worry too much."

"Mo Yu, huh? It's been a long time… an old enemy indeed."

Under the Deputy Chief's gaze, that silent figure slowly lifted his head. As the light illuminated his face, it revealed the countenance of a man in his early thirties.

Though he appeared relatively young, his expression was devoid of any emotion—neither joy nor sorrow. What stood out the most were his eyes.

His pupils were pitch black, an absolute, pure darkness with no whites at all. They looked like two black pearls forcibly embedded into his eye sockets. Being stared at by those eyes sent an uncontrollable chill down one's spine.

The man slightly tilted his head, gazing at Mo Yu from afar. His voice was soft yet icy, carrying an inexplicable undertone.

"A decade passed in the blink of an eye… I still remember how I once lost to you in the Northwestern Region."

"What?"

Hearing this, the Deputy Chief's pupils slightly contracted. He had clearly not expected that the divine-grade bloodline Young Clan Leader of the Hun Clan, Hun Feng, had once been defeated by Mo Yu.

Yes, this man was the same Hun Feng who had ventured into the outside world for training during the destruction of Yun Lan Sect in the Jia Ma Empire years ago.

Back then, both Hun Feng and Mo Yu had been young and brimming with arrogance. A mere disagreement had led to a fierce battle. However, Mo Yu ultimately emerged victorious, relying on his formidable trump cards to suppress this genius of the Hun Clan.

That battle had remained Hun Feng's greatest shame, buried deep within his heart.

In truth, his motivation for training all these years had largely been to defeat Mo Yu and erase this stain from his past. Now that they were facing each other again, the Young Clan Leader of the Hun Clan found it difficult to suppress his emotions.

However, Hun Feng quickly forced down his growing restlessness. His pitch-black eyes flickered toward Mo Yu once more before he slowly closed them.

He knew that now was not the right time to fight Mo Yu. Everyone present was waiting for the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame to break its seal. If he clashed with Mo Yu here, it would only benefit a third party.

Mo Yu also took note of Hun Feng's presence. His eyes narrowed slightly as he muttered, "It's him."

Even with the passage of time altering appearances, Hun Feng's unique, unmistakable eyes remained unchanged.

"Cousin, this guy is here too…" Xiao Yan muttered, carefully observing the three figures of the Hall of Souls before pausing on Hun Feng. His tone carried a hint of caution.

"Yeah. He has divine-grade bloodline and is likely still the Young Clan Leader of the Hun Clan. He's a tough opponent." Mo Yu nodded slowly before chuckling. "But with the two of us together, he's nothing special—just a defeated foe."

"Indeed. He must still be bitter over that fight in Jia Ma Empire," Xiao Yan said with a grin, reminiscing about that past battle.

"The Chief of Hall of Souls is a formidable enemy. Stay alert."

Beside them, Zi Yan's cheerful demeanor faded as she spoke in a serious tone.

Among everyone present, only she had the strength to contend with the Chief of Hall of Souls. Yet, even she understood that she wouldn't be able to defeat him. The best outcome she could hope for was to escape safely.

"Heh, Mo Yu, Xiao Yan… you two really came to join in the fun, huh?"

At that moment, a hearty laugh rang out from the distance. A burst of wind accompanied it as several figures appeared in a flash.

Mo Yu and Xiao Yan turned toward the sound. Upon seeing the newcomers, they smiled. "So it's Huo Xuan. Long time no see."

The three figures that had arrived were led by a white-robed young man with a strikingly handsome face—Huo Xuan from the Yan Clan, whom Mo Yu had encountered in the Gu Realm.

Beside him stood a red-clothed woman, her face still veiled, just like before. However, this time, another figure had joined them—an elder in a purple robe.

"Mo Yu, Xiao Yan, you two really aren't ordinary people. In just a few short years, you've both reached the Dou Sheng level." Huo Xuan clasped his hands in greeting, his tone filled with admiration.

"Heh, Brother Huo Xuan, you're already at the late Ban Sheng level yourself," Xiao Yan replied with a chuckle.

Huo Xuan was clearly an easygoing person. Since he had some past encounters with Mo Yu and Xiao Yan, their conversation was relaxed and free of barriers.

As they spoke, a voice as clear as a wind chime suddenly echoed through the air, reaching everyone present.

"Brother Xiao Yan, Brother Mo Yu, it's been a long time."

"Xun'er?"

The moment that familiar voice—etched into their very souls—reached their ears, Mo Yu raised an eyebrow, while Xiao Yan's face lit up with joy.

The space in the distance rippled violently before several figures slowly emerged. Leading them was a young woman in an elegant azure dress, her delicate features as beautiful as a blossoming flower—Xun'er.

Beside her stood two others. One was the talented Gu Qingyang, second only to Xun'er in the Gu Clan in terms of talent and bloodline purity.

The other was an elder in blue robes, his hair completely white. Though his face bore a gentle smile, there was a sharpness hidden beneath it.

Among everyone present, no one was happier than Xiao Yan. He strode forward, sweeping Xun'er into a tight embrace, his expression filled with overwhelming joy and longing.

Seeing the two completely immersed in their public display of affection, Mo Yu chuckled and shook his head. It seemed that little Yan had been holding back for too long.

At this thought, Mo Yu's mind drifted further, and as if recalling something, he cast a peculiar gaze at Xiao Yan.

Due to Mo Yu's interference, Cai Lin hadn't gone through the misunderstandings and entanglements with Xiao Yan as she did in the original timeline. Given Xiao Yan's disciplined nature and Xun'er's strict watch over him, it was unlikely that he would develop any relationships beyond friendship with other women.

Furthermore, because of the Gu Clan's rules, Xun'er had always been forbidden from engaging in intimate interactions with Xiao Yan. So, putting all this together… At thirty years old, a man who had already become a father in the original timeline was still… a virgin?

Realizing this, Mo Yu's lips twitched slightly as he silently sympathized with Xiao Yan for three seconds.

There was no denying that Xun'er was breathtakingly beautiful and noble, with an unparalleled background—practically every man's dream goddess. However, the conditions required to be with her were extremely harsh. Just the requirement of remaining pure alone would probably be too much for eighty percent of men to endure.

Thus, seeing Xiao Yan and Xun'er locked in an embrace so tight they seemed to be trying to merge into one, Mo Yu nodded in understanding. After all, they were both young and full of vigor—it was indeed unfortunate for this pair of childhood sweethearts to be restricted like this.

Though Mo Yu was quite understanding, not everyone shared his sentiments. Gu Qingyang, who had been watching, sighed helplessly and said, "Hey, do you two really think we don't exist?"

Hearing this, Xun'er's cheeks flushed slightly, but she quickly regained her composure. She gently freed herself from Xiao Yan's embrace, then turned her beautiful eyes toward Mo Yu and Yao Lao standing behind Xiao Yan. She first gave Mo Yu a slight nod before respectfully bowing to the elder.

"This esteemed senior must be Xiao Yan's master, Elder Yao Chen?"

"Hehe, little girl, we have actually known each other for a long time, though we've never officially met." Yao Lao chuckled.

"Senior Yao Chen, regarding past events, I hope you won't hold them against me." Xun'er seemed to recall something and spoke apologetically.

"Haha, it's nothing. I am Xiao Yan's master, and as for my disciple's future wife, if I were to be petty about such trivial matters, wouldn't that be unbecoming of me?" Yao Lao laughed heartily, stroking his beard.

Xiao Yan smiled as well, then proceeded to introduce the women beside Mo Yu—Xiao Yixian, Zi Yan, and the others.

In Xiao Yan's eyes, as Mo Yu's women, Xun'er should at least get to know her "sisters-in-law."

Understanding his intention, Xun'er nodded gently to the women before her and soon began conversing with them.

After all, whether it was Zi Yan or Xiao Yixian, Xun'er was familiar with them. Moreover, these women were among the most outstanding on the continent, so there was no shortage of topics for them to discuss.

Seizing the opportunity, Mo Yu pulled Xiao Yan aside and whispered, "Xiao Yan, I get the feeling… you and Xun'er still haven't done it yet, have you?"

Though the question was a bit abrupt, there were three things that bonded men—studying together, fighting together, and… well, you know.

Since Mo Yu and Xiao Yan had been brothers for decades, such topics were not exactly off-limits.

Xiao Yan was stunned for a moment but soon realized what Mo Yu was implying. His usually calm and composed face instantly turned red, and he stammered, "I… I…"

Seeing this reaction, Mo Yu immediately knew his guess was spot on. He patted Xiao Yan on the shoulder with a look of sympathy and sighed, "Sigh, the Gu Clan's rules really are strict. But don't worry, Xiao Yan. Once you break through to Dou Di, I refuse to believe they'll still be able to stop you from being with Xun'er."

Hearing this, Xiao Yan didn't respond. Instead, he simply gave a helpless smile, his expression a mix of embarrassment and resignation.

Dou Di?

The realm of Dou Di had been absent from the continent for tens of thousands of years—how could it be so easy to reach? And to think that breaking through to Dou Di was just so he could… That idea alone was enough to make him a laughingstock.

That being said, Xiao Yan did feel incredibly frustrated about the situation. He had the most unrivaled woman on the continent as his partner, yet due to the Gu Clan's ridiculous rules, he had always maintained a chaste and respectful relationship with her.

The frustration was akin to sitting on a mountain of gold but being forbidden from mining it—having something right in front of you yet being unable to enjoy it was even more tormenting.

Especially when he saw Mo Yu surrounded by beauties, even with Xiao Yan's steadfast will, there were times when he felt overwhelmed. But fortunately, he was no ordinary man, and his mind was resolute. Otherwise, any other man might have already given up on his relationship with Xun'er out of sheer frustration.

While Mo Yu and Xiao Yan whispered among themselves, not far away, Xun'er watched them with a hint of confusion in her beautiful eyes. Seeing Mo Yu's amused smirk and Xiao Yan's distressed expression, she instinctively felt they were discussing something related to her.

Though Xun'er was highly intelligent, there was no way she could guess the topic of conversation between these two men.

"Xiao Yan, Cousin Mo Yu, this is Elder Gu Nanhai of my Gu Clan. He accompanied me on this journey to investigate the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame."

Trusting her feminine intuition, Xun'er believed that Mo Yu and Xiao Yan were most likely talking about her. She stepped forward and pointed to an elderly man in a blue robe standing behind her.

"The Gu Clan is interested in the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame as well?" Mo Yu turned toward Xun'er, his expression unchanged as he smoothly shifted the conversation, ending his chat with Xiao Yan.

"Hehe, you must be Mo Yu, the Lei Clan's once-in-a-millennium divine-grade bloodline prodigy."

The blue-robed elder, Gu Nanhai, smiled faintly. He did not act superior due to his seniority but instead spoke in an even, respectful tone, as though addressing an equal.

"Our Gu Clan isn't particularly interested in the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame itself. That thing is nearly impossible for anyone to subdue. As long as it doesn't fall into the hands of the Hun Clan, that's all that matters," Gu Nanhai said calmly.

Given Mo Yu's identity and strength, he was indeed someone worthy of equal treatment.

Hearing Gu Nanhai's words, Mo Yu nodded in agreement. He, too, had no plans to subdue the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame. His primary objectives for coming here were to see if he could gain any benefits and, more importantly, to prevent the Hun Clan from obtaining this third-ranked Heavenly Flame.

With this thought, Mo Yu slowly turned his gaze toward the center of the desert. The next step was to wait for the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame to break free from its seal…
