After much persuasion and enticing promises from Mo Yu, the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree finally agreed to cooperate.
This ancient tree had existed for countless eras, dating back to the remote ages. However, despite such a long existence, it had failed to evolve into full sentience.
Perhaps its overly prolonged life span hindered the development of its intelligence, leaving it without true wisdom. Even so, the tree deeply remembered Mo Yu's kindness in dispelling the negative emotions of a Dou Di that had plagued it.
At its peak, the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree stood nearly ten thousand meters tall. However, the torment caused by the Dou Di's negative emotions had reduced its size to just over a thousand meters. If the Divine Wood Gang Thunder could indeed help restore its former glory, it would undoubtedly be a great boon for the tree.
Seeing the ancient tree finally agree, Mo Yu sighed in relief, a faint smile appearing on his face as he handed over the lightning source of the Divine Wood Gang Thunder.
As one of the top three treasures on the Dou Qi Continent, using the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree to awaken and nurture the Divine Wood Gang Thunder was the most suitable method.
It was said that in ancient times, this tree had slain a Dou Di-level expert, albeit with the assistance of another Dou Di. Nonetheless, the tree's strength was undeniable. Although this process would take considerable time, the thought of acquiring the fully restored Divine Wood Gang Thunder made Mo Yu's heart burn with anticipation.
As the Divine Wood Gang Thunder's source touched the tree, strange ripples spread across its massive trunk. Slowly, the lightning source merged into the tree, settling at its core like a power nucleus.
In that instant, Mo Yu could sense the lightning ocean within the source, which resembled a miniature world, suddenly becoming turbulent. The azure lightning inside roared like a newly awakened dragon, shaking the surroundings.
Meanwhile, waves of pure green energy surged from the tree like a torrential flood, pouring into the lightning source. The immense vitality caused the Divine Wood Gang Thunder to erupt with crackling azure streaks, emitting an aura of unimaginable power.
"As expected of the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree—it truly lives up to its name," Mo Yu muttered with satisfaction, a look of joy spreading across his face as he observed the Divine Wood Gang Thunder being nurtured and strengthened.
At this pace, under the nourishment of the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree, the Divine Wood Gang Thunder would likely be restored to its peak state in just three to five years. Though it was a long process, Mo Yu had the patience to wait.
While Mo Yu was immersed in joy, the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree trembled slightly, concealing the part of its body nurturing the Divine Wood Gang Thunder. Then, it swayed its branches, releasing strange undulations that tore open spatial cracks in the air.
From these cracks, several disheveled figures were expelled—it was Xiao Yan, Xun'er, and the others who had ventured into the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree.
Suddenly appearing in this unfamiliar space, everyone's expressions changed. Traces of lingering shock remained on their faces as they realized that everything they had experienced earlier was nothing but an illusion.
"What a terrifying Bodhisattva Ancient Tree," Xun'er muttered, her usually calm demeanor shaken. Even Hun Yu and other powerful individuals broke into cold sweats at the memory of the illusions, understanding that without the sudden disruption, they might have been trapped in those illusions forever.
Gradually recovering, the group began to take in their surroundings. The vibrant and life-filled space immediately drew their attention to the towering jade-like tree standing at its center.
"Is that... the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree?" someone exclaimed in awe.
The sight of the tree, combined with their earlier experience, filled them with an overwhelming sense of dread. Nothing seemed more terrifying than the prospect of perishing in an endless illusion.
"Cousin Mo Yu!" Xiao Yan and the others' gazes shifted, finally landing on a familiar figure standing nearby. They rushed toward him, their voices filled with joy.
"Oh, you all made it here too," Mo Yu replied with a smile.
"How did you get here? Did you arrive earlier than us?" Cai Lin asked curiously, her beautiful eyes sparkling.
"The illusion didn't trap me, so I arrived a bit earlier and even helped the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree with some trouble," Mo Yu explained casually.
"Helped the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree?" Xiao Yan and the others exchanged surprised glances.
For such a mystical and powerful entity to require assistance was shocking. Yet, knowing Mo Yu's capabilities, they didn't doubt his words.
At that moment, green light radiated from the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree, drawing everyone's attention. From within the tree came faint rumbling sounds, and countless green specks of light burst forth, scattering like stars across the space.
"Bodhi Seeds!" someone shouted, their voice filled with disbelief.
The crowd was stunned. These rare treasures, coveted across the continent, were being produced in abundance—nearly twenty of them floating in the air.
"Grab them!"
Hun Yu and the others, their eyes reddened with greed, surged forward, their Dou Qi erupting as they lunged at the seeds.
"Not so fast," Mo Yu said with a smirk. With a wave of his hand, the seeds evaded their grasp, swiftly gathering in his palm.
"Thank you, Brother Bodhi," Mo Yu said with a smile, turning toward the ancient tree. Flicking his fingers, he sent a few seeds toward Xiao Yan, Xun'er, and Cai Lin, who caught them with gratitude.
"Thank you, Cousin Mo Yu!" Xiao Yan and the others eagerly accepted the Bodhi Seeds, their expressions filled with excitement.
Mo Yu laughed heartily. "It's nothing."
Mo Yu chuckled and shook his head. He had already indirectly absorbed many Bodhi Seeds when helping the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree dispel the negative emotions of the Dou Di. As for the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree's promise to nurture the Divine Wood Gang Thunder, that was the greatest gain from his journey.
A few Bodhi Seeds, combined with his relationships with Xiao Yan and the others, were nothing to Mo Yu. Distributing them was of little consequence.
At this moment, the faces of Hun Yu and the others darkened as they stared at Mo Yu, who was handing out the Bodhi Seeds. In their eyes, a red glow flickered.
"Lord Mo, this is too biased!" one of them finally couldn't suppress their anger, their voice booming with fury, filling the space with a deep rumble.
Hearing the dissatisfied shout, Mo Yu slowly turned his head. His gaze was cold and slightly sinister as he looked at the speaker, immediately recognizing their identity.
The Xi Tian Zhan Zun in the Central Plains, He Wujie, a peak Dou Zun expert. Under Mo Yu's cold stare, He Wujie suddenly felt a chill run through his skin, regaining some calm.
However, his face was still filled with displeasure as he coldly said, "We entered the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree together and faced numerous trials. Now, you, Lord Mo, want to take all the Bodhi Seeds for yourself? Isn't this a bit unreasonable?"
Mo Yu sneered and said, "Reasonable? Ridiculous!"
"These Bodhi Seeds are the reward for helping the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree resolve its problems. What does that have to do with you? If you want them, join my Yuan Manor. If you make significant contributions in the future, I might consider giving you one."
"If you want to take them by force, try it."
As Mo Yu finished speaking, Qing Zhi, standing behind him, stepped forward. The terrifying aura of a Ban Sheng immediately suppressed everyone's fury.
Seeing this, He Wujie's expression constantly shifted. He greedily eyed the Bodhi Seeds in Mo Yu's hand, but Qing Zhi's overwhelming strength made him hesitate with fear.
"Lord Mo, is there really a chance to receive a Bodhi Seed by joining Yuan Manor?" At this moment, a peak Eight-Star Dou Zun from another faction asked.
Although they didn't understand why the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree had rewarded Mo Yu with over twenty Bodhi Seeds, they knew the situation was irreversible, and with Mo Yu's powerful backing, they wouldn't risk their lives to steal them.
If joining Yuan Manor would give them a chance at the seeds, it seemed like a reasonable option.
After all, Yuan Manor was now extremely influential in the Central Plains, and joining wouldn't be a loss.
Mo Yu nodded and said, "My Yuan Manor is newly established, so there aren't too many rules. As long as you achieve great merit, you can choose from techniques, Dou Techniques, or even spiritual treasures like the Bodhi Seeds."
Hearing Mo Yu's promise, the Eight-Star Dou Zun's eyes flashed with hesitation before he gritted his teeth and cupped his hands, saying, "I am Hong Tian, willing to join Yuan Manor and follow the Manor Lord in the future."
Seeing his good sense, Mo Yu smiled and flicked his fingers, sending a Bodhi Seed to Hong Tian's hand.
"Hehe, Brother Hong Tian, since you're willing to join Yuan Manor, I naturally welcome you. This Bodhi Seed is a reward for your future achievements," Mo Yu said with a light laugh.
"Thank you, Manor Lord!" Hong Tian's face was full of excitement as he eagerly accepted the Bodhi Seed. He then bowed and thanked Mo Yu, "I will dedicate myself to the Manor Lord and Yuan Manor, to the death."
Seeing his vow of loyalty, Mo Yu smiled faintly, noncommittal.
Whether Hong Tian's words were true or not didn't concern Mo Yu. With his current strength, he wasn't worried about betrayal. Even if he was betrayed, it would only be a wasted Bodhi Seed, and the one who would pay would be Hong Tian with his life.
Furthermore, with so many powerful individuals around, Hong Tian might even serve as a useful pawn.
As expected, after seeing Hong Tian receive a Bodhi Seed upon joining Yuan Manor, the members of several factions present were all burning with desire.
Before long, two peak Dou Zun and three Eight-Star Dou Zun experts were willing to join Yuan Manor. Even He Wujie, the Xi Tian Zhan Zun, couldn't resist the temptation and bowed to Mo Yu, pledging allegiance to Yuan Manor.
Mo Yu smiled slightly and gave a Bodhi Seed to each one. Unknowingly, Yuan Manor had gained six new Dou Zun-level experts, all at the high rank of Dou Zun!
Regardless of anything else, this alone made the trip worthwhile.
"Mo Yu, distribute five Bodhi Seeds to my Hun Clan, and we'll overlook this matter," a cold voice suddenly rang out from Hun Yu's direction.
Mo Yu froze for a moment and then turned to look at Hun Yu as if he were looking at a fool. He sneered, "Who do you think you are? Are you out of your mind asking for five Bodhi Seeds?"
"Let alone five, even one is a dream!"
The words "a dream" hung in the air, and the atmosphere in the space instantly tightened. A sense of oppression filled everyone's hearts. It was clear that today's matter was about to escalate beyond resolve.
When Mo Yu uttered those words, Hun Yu's expression turned icy. He stared at Mo Yu, and after a long pause, he slowly nodded and said, "Since that's the case... then there's no turning back. Do you really think a lowly Ban Sheng can protect you?"
"Boom!"
With Hun Yu's last word, the space before him rippled, and a black crack about a yard wide opened.
Then, to everyone's shock, a pale, skeletal hand suddenly reached out from the crack, grabbing and crushing the space around it into nothingness with a violent eruption of black mist.
"Cough, cough, Hun Yu, it seems I still need to step in," an old, coughing voice echoed from the crack.
An elderly figure wearing grayish-white robes slowly emerged from the space fissure, appearing before the stunned crowd.
