The news of Mo Yu successfully subduing the Black Thunder Banner spread like wildfire, reaching every corner of the Lei Clan.

As a descendant of the Mo Clan, who had lived outside the clan from an early age and was personally appointed as the Black Thunder Captain by the patriach, Mo Yu piqued the curiosity of many.

The events that unfolded in the Black Thunder Training Ground soon became widely known among the Lei Realm inhabitants.

When it was revealed that Mo Yu defeated Geng Xiong, a well-regarded figure among the Lei Clan's younger generation, in just one move, the name of Black Thunder Captain Mo Yu gradually gained recognition throughout the Lei Realm.

Geng Xiong, as one of the Lei Clan's more prominent young talents, could only be defeated in one move by the top eight captains or the four generals. That Mo Yu accomplished such a feat was a testament to his strength.

While ripples spread through the Lei Realm due to Mo Yu's emergence, he returned to Mo Mountain after solidifying the Black Thunder Banner's loyalty. There, he rested in a guest room.

The night was serene, with moonlight cascading down like water, covering the entire mountain range in a layer of soft silver.

At the heart of the mountain range, clusters of ancient halls stood tall, their imposing forms exuding an air of antiquity under the moonlit sky.

Most of these halls were brightly lit. These days marked a festive period for the ancient clan, and decorations celebrating the occasion were seen everywhere, filling the air with joy.

However, on a distant, secluded peak away from the grand halls, tranquility reigned. The absence of noise made it feel like the abode of reclusive hermits, peaceful and serene.

Two snow-white figures stood gracefully on the mountain peak, their beautiful eyes gazing at the brightly lit halls in the distance.

"Why haven't you rested yet?" Mo Yu asked with a soft smile, looking at the two figures.

"So this is the Lei Clan. It doesn't seem that different from the outside world," Xiao Yixian and Qing Lin turned to look at Mo Yu as he approached, their lips curling into smiles.

"Except for the Dou Di bloodline they carry, this place truly isn't much different from the outside world. The clan members here are no different from ordinary people in Central Plains.

However, while the Dou Di bloodline brings the Lei Clan honor and status, it also imposes significant pressure.

Thus, the pressure here far exceeds that of the outside world. The Lei Clan thrives on its bloodline but is also burdened by it. Those with weaker Dou Di bloodline concentrations likely struggle to survive here."

Mo Yu's voice was calm as he gazed at the brightly lit halls.

The Eight Ancient Clans might appear powerful and prestigious to outsiders, but only their own people understood the hardships they endured.

Several centuries ago, the Xiao Clan's patriach, Xiao Xuan, depleted the clan's bloodline in an attempt to maintain its purity, ultimately leading to the clan's annihilation.

If not for the surviving bloodline in Wu Tan City, the Xiao Clan would have been lost to history entirely.

Even Yao Chen, hailed as Central Plains's top alchemist, came from one of the Eight Ancient Clans, the Yao Clan.

Yet, his prestigious clan did not grant him a smooth life. Instead, he faced numerous hardships in his youth and was eventually expelled from the Yao Clan.

Mo Yu saw through the glamour of the Eight Ancient Clans, recognizing them as mere aristocratic clans. Unlike ordinary clans, their strength lay in their ancient heritage and formidable power.

"Strength always comes with a price," Xiao Yixian and Qing Lin nodded thoughtfully at Mo Yu's explanation.

Three days passed peacefully, with Mo Yu quietly enjoying the unique scenery of the Lei Realm. Suddenly, the sound of rushing wind came from behind the mountain peak, making Mo Yu frown. He immediately called out coldly, "Who's there?"

"Hehe, no need to panic, Black Thunder Captain. This old man means no harm."

An elderly figure appeared, smiling kindly at Mo Yu and his companions.

Looking at the mysterious elder, Mo Yu's brows furrowed slightly. "Since you know who I am, you must be from the Lei Clan. Why sneak around like this?"

Mo Yu had hoped to spend more time with Xiao Yixian and Qing Lin but was now disturbed. Naturally, he was annoyed.

The elder chuckled softly, "My apologies. I came here on my lady's orders, so please forgive the intrusion."

"Your lady?" Xiao Yixian and Qing Lin exchanged glances upon hearing this, then seemed to realize something. Qing Lin asked softly, "Could the lady you speak of be the young master's fiancée, Lei Fei'er?"

The elder smiled warmly. "Indeed. I am Fei'er's steward, Lin Xiao."

"Lei Fei'er's steward…" Mo Yu paused, sizing up the elder. Although Lin Xiao's aura wasn't particularly strong, he exuded an approachable and kind demeanor, much like a benevolent grandfather.

"Ah, so it's Steward Lin. What brings you here?" Mo Yu asked respectfully, cupping his hands.

Though Lin Xiao was only at the Dou Zong level and not particularly powerful, being assigned to Lei Fei'er indicated that he was a trusted confidant of the Patriach, Lei Ying. Thus, Mo Yu remained polite.

"No need for formality, Black Thunder Captain. I'm merely here to deliver a message from my lady." Lin Xiao smiled gently.

"A message from Lei Fei'er?" Mo Yu frowned slightly, while Xiao Yixian and Qing Lin exchanged puzzled looks, unsure what Lei Fei'er intended.

"What does Miss Fei'er wish to tell me?" Mo Yu asked calmly, though curious about his unseen fiancée.

Lin Xiao chuckled. "Miss Fei'er said that talent alone isn't enough to marry her—you must also possess a divine-grade bloodline."

"A divine-grade bloodline?" Mo Yu raised an eyebrow.

He understood that the ancient clans valued bloodlines highly, even categorizing them into ten grades, with one being the lowest and ten the highest. The highest, the tenth grade, was known as the divine-grade bloodline.

Even within the ancient clans, divine-grade bloodlines were rare. Currently, only individuals like Gu Clan's Xun'er and a few from the Hun Clan possessed them.

Now Lei Fei'er expected him to reach this level before marrying her. Her standards were indeed high.

"What if I fail to meet her expectations? Does she plan to break off the engagement?" Mo Yu retorted with a smirk, unwilling to let his haughty fiancée dominate him.

Lin Xiao was momentarily stunned but then smiled. "Given the patriach's high regard for you, your bloodline must be exceptional. Divine-grade bloodlines are rare, but they might just appear in you, Black Thunder Captain."

Lin Xiao's smile deepened as he continued, "In three days, the Lei Clan will hold a assessment competition among its captains. Before the competition begins, there will be a bloodline test for the younger generation.

I hope you'll achieve excellent results and meet Miss Fei'er's expectations."

With that, Lin Xiao bowed slightly and quietly retreated, disappearing into the shadows.

"A bloodline test…" Mo Yu muttered softly.

For the ancient clans, such tests were vital and sacred. Many ordinary clan members had leaped to prominence by excelling in them, becoming the clan's prodigies.

"Young Master, do you really possess a Divine-grade bloodline?" Qing Lin's beautiful eyes gazed intently at Mo Yu, her tone filled with admiration, like that of a young girl.

Though she didn't fully understand what the Divine-grade bloodline represented, based on its name and the Lei Clan Princess's regard for it, Qing Lin could tell it was no ordinary bloodline.

Beside her, Xiao Yixian also looked at Mo Yu with curiosity. Could someone from the Jia Ma Empire truly possess a bloodline so highly valued by the Lei Clan?

Faced with their curious expressions, Mo Yu didn't answer immediately but instead flashed a mysterious smile.

He raised his right hand lightly and gave each of them a playful flick on the forehead. Smiling, he said, "You'll know in due time. For now, go back and rest."

After speaking, he gently ruffled their hair before heading to his room.

"Annoying Young Master..." Qing Lin pouted her rosy lips in dissatisfaction, muttering under her breath.

Meanwhile, Xiao Yixian gently touched the red mark left on her forehead, a faint smile tugging at the corners of her lips as she watched Mo Yu's retreating figure.

Three days later, as the first rays of dawn spread across the sky, the Lei Yang Mountain Range bustled with activity.

Silhouettes darted through the sky, and the sound of festive drums echoed throughout the mountains.

"Creak."

The door to Mo Yu's room slowly opened. Dressed in tidy clothes, he stepped out briskly. Sweeping his gaze over the open ground before him, he saw Qing Lin, Xiao Yixian, Mo Feng, and Mo Tao already waiting.

"Young Master, did you sleep well?"

Qing Lin greeted him with a gentle smile, smoothing out the creases on his clothes. Her tender movements resembled those of a dutiful maid.

No one would have guessed that the renowned Qing She Zun Zhe of Central Plains could have such a delicate, feminine side.

Mo Yu nodded with a smile, feeling her cool, soft hands against his chest. Though his heart wavered slightly, he quickly reined in his emotions. Gazing at the distant halls, he asked, "The Captain Assessment is about to start, isn't it?"

"Yes, it's starting soon. The Patriarch asked us to escort the Black Thunder Captain there," Mo Feng and Mo Tao replied respectfully.

Since witnessing Mo Yu's overwhelming strength at the Black Thunder Training Ground, their attitude towards him had grown significantly more deferential.

"Oh? In that case, let's head out." Mo Yu nodded slightly.

"Understood." Mo Feng and Mo Tao gestured, summoning a snow-white, massive Thunder Python Beast, its silver wings crackling with lightning. It soared out from the forest and landed before them.

The two leaped onto the wide back of the Thunder Python Beast, and Mo Yu's group quickly followed suit.

With a light tap, the beast let out a thunderous roar and shot forward, transforming into a streak of light as it sped towards the distant halls.

In mere minutes, they reached the cluster of grand halls, where the Thunder Python Beast descended under Mo Feng's guidance.

Their arrival drew many gazes. Given the uproar Mo Yu had caused at the Black Thunder Training Ground a few days earlier, their group was the center of attention.

"Let's go," Mo Yu said softly to the others, ignoring the curious looks as he strode toward the ancient central plaza.

The perimeter of the ancient plaza was lined with Black Demon Army soldiers clad in black armor, their sharp eyes constantly scanning the surroundings like hawks.

Upon spotting Mo Yu, their stern gazes softened, a hint of respect flashing in their eyes.

The plaza was already filling with people, but under Mo Feng's guidance, Mo Yu's group moved directly toward the central seating area.

"Clang!"

As Mo Yu stepped into the area, the sound of spears crossing echoed sharply. Two warriors clad in golden armor blocked their path with their spears.

The sudden noise made Mo Yu pause, and his expression darkened.

"This is the Black Thunder Captain! How dare you block his path—are you defying authority?" Mo Feng rebuked coldly.

The golden-armored warriors hesitated upon hearing her frosty tone.

"So what if he's the Black Thunder Captain? My son was injured by him; he must pay the price!"

A cold voice interrupted them. Mo Yu's eyes narrowed as he turned to see an elderly man with a stern face, his expression full of malice.

The old man's resemblance to Geng Xiong, combined with his words, made it clear he was likely a senior member of the Geng Clan.

The confrontation drew even more attention, with many gazes falling on Mo Yu. Some observers wore amused expressions.

"Geng Xu, you shameless old fool! Are you seriously meddling in the younger generation's affairs? Have you regressed to such a level?"

Before Mo Yu could respond, an angry voice echoed from the sky, leaving him momentarily stunned.

"Mang Tianchi?"

Both Mo Yu and Geng Xu froze in surprise. Geng Xu's expression changed as he muttered the name in shock.
